Buffy vs. Eucalypso Home: Which Sheets Are Right For You?

In my time hunting down bedsheets for the perfect night's sleep, I've learned that eucalyptus sheets are the way to go for comfort, feel, and sustainability. And in my deep dives on the internet, there are two brands I’ve seen come up time and again: Buffy (known for their iconic Breeze Sheet Set) and Eucalypso Home (Eucalypso Classic Sheet Set).

While both brands make high-quality bedding options that offer a range of features and benefits, they're not totally equal. I took it upon myself to compare the two and certainly found myself a winner!

If You’re Looking For That Luxury Hotel Experience… Go With Buffy

I'm a sucker for luxury hotels, and if a sheet set can mentally transport me on a relaxing vacation, that's a big win in my book. While both brands offer eucalyptus sheets made from TENCEL™ eucalyptus lyocell (wonderful for breathability and moisture-wicking factor), they certainly don’t feel identical. Buffy sheets feel not only softer, but cooler and crisper than Eucalypso Home's more satin-y texture.

If You’re Looking For a Cool Night’s Sleep… Go With Buffy

My partner runs HOT. He even has to sleep with the bedroom door open otherwise he ends up warming up the whole room by degrees--no lie! We tested both sets of sheets out for a few nights, and he actually felt cooler when our Buffy sheets were in use.

The best way I can describe that cool feeling is that warms the soul, like when you're eating a warm beignet and the powdered sugar hits your tongue. Yup, these sheets were cool like powdered sugar!

If You Have Sensitive or Acne Prone Skin… You Can’t Go Wrong With Either

If your top priority is a sheet set that’ll help you fight acne while you sleep, you’re in luck. Both Eucalypso Home and Buffy’s sheets are made with 100% eucalyptus-based TENCEL lyocell, which is hypoallergenic and antibacterial, in addition to being moisture-wicking. In fact, I was surprised to learn that you can actually use the sheets right out of the box--no washing required!

If You Value Sustainability and Making a Positive Impact on the Planet... Go With Buffy

Buffy is a company that's truly taking the bedding world by storm! Buffy's mission is so commendable; sustainability and reducing their environmental impact is at the forefront of what they do.

Buffy not only uses recycled materials–they’re committed to reducing their water and energy consumption and scrutinizing their entire supply chain, from shipping and logistics to material sourcing and packaging.

If You’re Looking For More Color Options… Go With Buffy

Buffy offers 10 shades of gorgeous light colors, including striped options, in 6 sizes. On the flip side, Eucalypso Home offers 8 solid colors (many of which are a bit too bold for me) in 6 sizes.

I ordered my Buffy sheets in Light Gray and they turned out to be exactly what I had seen in the picture: clean, airy, and simple. In contrast, my Eucalypso Home sheets in Blush Pink arrived a little darker than I expected, which made it more difficult to pair with my duvet.

The Ultimate Winner... Buffy!

It's honestly a shock that it took me this long to discover eucalyptus sheets. They're truly the ultimate option for people who tend to get hot at night (or people who sleep next to human radiators).

After evaluating both sheet sets across multiple nights of sleep, both my partner and I came to the conclusion that Buffy's Breeze Sheet Set rubbed us the RIGHT way in all the categories that were important to us. They felt cooler, more breathable, and more luxurious to the touch.

I'm a huge fan of the fact that Buffy is more eco-friendly and conscious of their carbon footprint. These days, I almost always support brands that make an effort to do good on the planet over those that don't. Buffy for the win!
