Armoire vs. Stitch Fix: Which Styling Service Has Me Dressing for Success?

I’ll admit: I love fashion, so me + the department store = perusing the racks for hours! But as a mom of 3, I’m always looking for ways to be more savvy when it comes to time-consuming activities like shopping for myself. It’s an activity I just don’t have time for as a busy mom.

I’ll let you in on my workaround for looking put-together without sacrificing time: online styling services like Armoire and Stitch Fix. I checked out both of these styling services to determine which is my favorite, and I’m spilling all the details:

If you’ve got Nicole Miller taste on a Nordstrom Rack budget…Armoire

Every time summer rolls around, I’m faced with finding high-end, unique clothes for multiple events. Luckily, Armoire’s model makes it so you can wear something fashionable at each event, whereas Stitch Fix’s model just gets expensive, fast.

With Stitch Fix, you pay a $20 styling fee and your stylist chooses 5 items for you based on your preferences. If you decide to keep clothes, though, you have to pay for them (after deducting the $20 fee from your total purchase). Plus, you may feel pressured to keep something you don’t love to justify the $20 fee that is either lost or applied to a purchase.

Armoire is a rental-based styling service, so you could rent 4 high-end, designer dresses and keep them for as long as you like, all for the cost of one dress (or less)–perfect for all the upcoming weddings, bridal showers, work events, and birthdays. If you’re picky or have trouble finding things that fit, Armoire offers an unlimited plan so you can swap clothes as often as you’d like! 👗

If you’re looking for high-end styles and brands… Armoire

Stitch Fix has popular brands like Madewell, Free People, and Good American, but they don’t specialize in high-end clothing like Armoire does. I was really impressed by the designers Armoire features, like Halston, French Connection, Rebecca Minkoff, Nicole Miller, Laundry, Diane Von Furstenburg, and more.

Plus, Armoire covers minor damages and laundry or dry cleaning, so you don’t have to worry about some minor wear & tear on those high-end styles. Armoire knows that their rentals are meant to be lived in! 👚

If you want a personalized styling experience… it’s a tie

Both Stitch Fix and Armoire are highly regarded for offering personalized styling services that pick clothes for you based on your tastes. Each brand has a quiz that fine-tunes your preferences, so your box is full of clothing you love.

Armoire stands apart in their curation in that they use an algorithm + stylist combination to continually optimize your recommendations, so you can prevent the eternal scroll.

If you’re looking to break away from fast fashion…Armoire

By choosing Armoire, you’re choosing sustainable fashion. Renting and returning means you’ll never have an excess of clothes in your closet that you wear once and never again.

You will always have your wardrobe staples, but can then supplement with new sweaters, tops, or dresses from Armoire which is not only sustainable, but budget friendly. It keeps your wardrobe on trend while creating more space in your closet!

Overall Winner….Armoire

While both Stitch Fix and Armoire offer hassle free shopping and convenience, Armoire is perfect for my budget, my designer tastes, and my sustainable ethos. It keeps me both on-trend without contributing to closet clutter! If you’re looking to finally wear fresh, exciting things that you actually adore, Armoire is for you.
