5 Things Under $300 That Changed My Life Completely

Molly Wright
ByMolly WrightOct 27, 2022In Partnership With Sunday Citizen

Whether it’s technology that streamlines your workflow to a simple kitchen gadget, we all have a few choice lifestyle products we can’t live without. These five quality items will forever occupy the top spots on my favorites list.

The Product That Changed My Sleep: Sunday Citizen Snug Stitch Comforter

The first bedding set I bought was from Urban Outfitters, right before college. The online photos sold me: the plush white comforter and fluffy pillows looked heavenly, but unfortunately, the quality wasn’t anything special.

My dreams finally came true with Sunday Citizen–the comforters, sheets, and pillows are beyond comfortable and soft, and I’m absolutely loving my wind-down routine now. My favorite Snug Stitch Comforter has a smooth bamboo side and a fluffy side–the smooth side keeps you cool, while the fluffy side is perfect for laying on top of when you’re indulging in a movie. I also love that this dual-sided comforter works year-round–I don’t find myself switching between lighter or heavier bedding as the seasons change.

I try to buy eco-friendly items when available, so I was thrilled to see that the smooth side of Sunday Citizen’s comforter is made from bamboo viscose (which is one of the most sustainable crops!) and the filling is made with recycled PET bottles. Sunday Citizen bedding has me sleeping better than ever before, and it’s a purchase you can feel good about.

The Product That Changed My Work Habits: Bose QuietComfort 35 Headphones

I’ll switch teams from my arsenal of Apple electronics for one product only, and that’s for a pair of Bose QC 35 headphones. The QC 35 model is by no means the newest version, but in my humble opinion, Bose has already achieved perfection with the QC 35. These noise-canceling headphones are a studious worker’s dream, with sound quality so good it feels like you couldn’t possibly be wearing headphones.

The Product That Changed My Fitness – Adidas Ultraboost 5.0 DNA Shoes

For such a lightweight running shoe, I can’t believe my Adidas Ultraboosts have held up after four years of wear. Not only are they extremely cushiony, but I think they’re the type of shoe you can put on for just about any workout. These are an essential part of my fitness routine, and I can’t see myself trading them in for another brand anytime soon.

The Product That Changed My Travel: PacSafe Citysafe CX Anti-Theft Backpack

Throughout my time as a student in London, I witnessed too many friends lament their stolen bags to turn a blind eye. I had a lot of supplies to lug around, so I realized it was time to elevate my backpack game.

Now, I never go anywhere without my PacSafe Citysafe CX Anti-Theft Backpack. Here’s why: The two zippers interlock and clip into an attached bar, so it’s almost impossible for someone to unzip your bag. One of the straps also unhooks, so you can secure it around a chair leg while you’re working in a public place–and to top it off, it’s roomy and stylish.

The Product That Changed My Hair: Biolage HydraSource Shampoo & Conditioner

Pureology, OUAI, Bumble & Bumble, and Living Proof have all made their way onto my shower shelf, and while I’ve had pleasant experiences overall, I was holding out for the one.

Enter Biolage: I didn’t think much of the unassuming bottle at first, but after testing it at a friend’s house, my color-treated hair has never looked so good. More highlights? It won’t break the bank, it’s made from almost 100% recycled materials, and it’s vegan & cruelty-free.

Final Thoughts

From a good night’s sleep to shiny, healthy hair, these five products are my ultimate non-negotiables. These items may cost more than lower-quality alternatives, but if I’m to be loyal to my products forever, I want them to have some serious longevity–and these ride-or-dies definitely don’t disappoint.
