5 Reasons Why These Kids Bikes Outshine the Rest

I used to think all bicycles were more or less the same. I mean, there’s no sense in reinventing the wheel, right? It wasn’t until I got my 11 year old son a Guardian Bike that I realized how not all bikes are created equal. Here’s why getting this bike is not only better than any others I’ve seen, it’s also among the best purchases I’ve made as a parent:

1. Learning to ride is a breeze 💨

Looking back, I can't help but think how much I would have loved a bike as smooth and easy to ride as this one during my childhood. My son effortlessly hopped on and, with some prior riding experience, felt more comfortable and confident than ever before. Even my youngest, my 4-year-old daughter, got a smaller Guardian Bike and went through their Learn in A Day method, which worked like magic! It turns out that mastering balance is the key to a child's successful bike learning journey.

Guardian Bikes caters to not only older kids like my son but also to younger children who are just embarking on their biking adventures. So, whether you have a seasoned rider or a beginner, the smooth ride, easy break system (keep reading for more), and kid-specific sizing make this the perfect choice for a safe and exciting biking experience for all your little ones.

2. Easy to assemble ✅ even easier to ride ✅

I say this as someone who hates assembling flat-pack furniture: out of the box, this bike is 10 minutes away from hitting the road. I thought I’d have to spend my Sunday getting frustrated with assembly instructions, but that wasn’t the case at all. I just took it out, attached the handlebars, pedals, and front wheel. This turned out to be pretty convenient, given my son could barely contain his excitement. In no time, he was riding with the biggest smile I’ve ever seen.

Right from the start, Jordan loved how easy it was to use the 7-speed twist gear shifter, which is cleverly labeled so he could visualize its performance. He was also doing cool tricks within minutes - neither of us were expecting how lightweight the frame would be, making both assembly and riding smooth as ever.

3. Guardian Bikes puts safety first 🙏

I remember bike accidents were a pretty common occurrence when I was a kid. Honestly, I don’t know how my parents managed - just the thought of my son flying over his handlebars is enough to make me a nervous wreck.

The difference between Guardian and other bikes I looked at is that Guardian Bikes are equipped with a patented single lever SureStop® brake system. Not only is the single lever brake easier to use, it’s also safer to stop and prevents head over handlebar accidents from ever happening. This ensures Jordan has more control and can stop faster. It seems to just meet his reflexes without delay, so I don’t need to worry about him flipping the bike or rolling into a dangerous situation.

4. Perfectly sized for every growing kid 👦

I’ll confess that I hadn’t initially considered the importance of size and proportion when shopping for my kid’s bike. I just figured that you get one that’s aligned with your child’s age, and that’s that. But you wouldn’t let your child walk to school in shoes that are two sizes too big or too small, so why should a bike be any different?

While other bikes I’d been looking at just had recommended age ranges, Guardian Bikes had the RideSizer® tool to help us find the perfect size. It factored my son’s height, age, riding experience, and abilities, and even told me how long the bike would last for him. And it didn’t stop there - bikes are designed to be completely approachable, from their lightweight frames and low step-over height, to the easily grasped single lever hand brake and kid-friendly gear system. On his bike, Jordan feels in control to ride more comfortably and confidently than I’ve ever seen.

5. They're built to last 👷

Every purchase I make as a parent leads me to this inevitable question: how long will this last? Kids outgrow everything. And if they haven’t grown too tall, you can bet they’ll wear it down.

This wasn’t Jordan’s first bike, and honestly, I wasn’t thrilled with how short-lived his last one was. It was worn, dented, and outgrown too soon.

Guardian Bikes are built with double-walled rims that can withstand the extreme beating of childhood adventures (and trust me, my son has tested this). I’m actually shocked there isn’t a dent or buckle to be found on this thing. Its hybrid tires are well suited for roads and trails, and have held up beautifully. Jordan also recently had a growth spurt, and unlike his wardrobe, this bike grows with him thanks to its adjustable seat. The high quality components also give me peace of mind that this bike is one that can be passed down from child to child.

Like no other bike I've seen before 🚴

Seeing Jordan riding his Guardian Bike brings me back to one of my favorite childhood pastimes, minus the hairy incidents. If I’m being honest… I wish I had a bike like this when I was growing up, but seeing him riding so happily and confidently, it makes me appreciate that I could do this for him. Trust me on this - you will not regret going with Guardian Bikes for your kids. The others just don’t even compare.
