3 Reasons I’m Switching from Starbucks to This Coffee Subscription Service

I live in Seattle, so I’d call myself a coffee lover. It seems like new coffee shops pop up every couple of weeks, and it’s awesome–but also overwhelming! I get so much decision fatigue that I often end up going to the closest Starbucks to me.

But I haven’t yet given up on the search for delicious coffee without the inconvenience. A friend recommended Trade Coffee’s coffee subscription, and they had me hooked when I saw they had “450+ craft coffees.” I’ve officially switched from Starbucks to Trade, and I’ll tell you why:

1). Forget the long Starbucks drive-thru lines: get great coffee shipped right to your doorstep

If you’re not a morning person, you already know: don’t talk to me before I’ve had my morning cup of coffee! Honestly, the last thing I want to do first thing in the AM is get in my car and wait in a line. And, if you make coffee at home, one day you’ve probably woken up and realized you’re out of beans... ☕

Trade Coffee’s coffee subscription offers free shipping, customizable plans, and anytime cancellations. To get paired with brews you’re sure to love, all you have to do is answer a few questions about your coffee preferences. Their algorithm curates new coffees for you, and you then choose between ground or whole beans, and how often you’d like to get fresh coffee (between every 7-42 days).

The price is pretty unbeatable, too. The Trade Subscription is $15.75 per bag, and the Trade Plus is $19.50 per bag - way less per cup than drinking Starbucks!

2). I’m drinking high-quality coffee that actually tastes good, instead of settling for Starbucks’ roasts

Let me set the record straight: I don’t mind Starbucks coffee simply because it’s convenient, not because it’s good.

Trade Coffee entered my life at just the right time. It’s more convenient than Starbucks because they ship right to you, and they work with over 55 of the nation’s top roasters, meaning the coffee you receive is always high-quality. Trade’s options range from light to dark, single origin to blends, plus decaf & espressos–you’re hard pressed not to find a cup you love (and it’ll have you regretting every time you waited in line). 🚗

Every single coffee has been tasted & curated by the experts, and it’s shipped within 48 hours of being roasted–so it’s not only some of the freshest coffee out there, but it tastes amazing, too. Plus, their 450+ options means you’ll get the chance to try some super unique varieties from smaller roasters.

Another thing I love about Trade Coffee is if you don’t like your first bag, they’ll ship you another one for free! So you’re basically guaranteed a bag of coffee you’ll love.

3). You’ll never have to buy a collectible mug or a gift card from Starbucks ever again

Raise your hand if you’ve checked out Starbucks’ wall of nice mugs and thought, “this’ll do for a gift”? I’ve been here. And while I used to think my Hawaiian Starbucks mug was a great gift, I’m realizing I need to give more to my loved ones. 🎁

Trade Coffee’s digital gift subscription is the best way to impress your people, because it’s considerate without overstepping. The gift-receivers will be able to personalize their own subscription, so you don’t run the risk of buying them a dark roast if they’re actually a light roast person.

A 3-bag gift subscription costs $60, 6 bags is $120, and 12 bags is $216. Plus, you can purchase it straight from the website. Take that, gift cards and mugs.

Goodbye Starbucks, hello Trade Coffee

This is your sign to ditch Starbucks for Trade Coffee’s high-quality options. I’m discovering new craft coffee at a reasonable price and supporting small businesses while I’m at it. My coffee from Trade tastes so much better, and I’m not dragging myself out of bed to hit the drive-thru!
