I am not happy that I tried to call in to skip on August 1st and they won’t allow me to. Back when they have conde it is allowed. They would not release any spoilers until the day before the 1st, how are we able to skip fast enough? This is ridiculous.. I am again forced to keep this box.

I am not super impressed with this box. I skipped August but Allure sent a box anyway (CS did make it right when I reached out). I got the Tula scrub (I’m going to try to regift this, not a fan of scrubs), the Esker oil (I’ll give this a shot but it just doesn’texcite me), Tynt clear brow gel (also will never use; I don’t do anything with my brows), Biossance repair cream (I like this and will use it), Viktor & Rolf perfume (smells great but tiny sample and mine was only a quarter full?), Sephora cleanser (I’ll use it but I mean.. come on now), and the magnetic lashes/liner (excited to try these but not had good luck with magnetic lashes in the past).

I think the August box is OK. Agree the scrub is a bit harsh (I have very sensitive skin) and gave away the SR sunscreen (already have Elta MD that I use daily) but the perfume smells good and the vitamin D cream is really nice – definitely thinking of buying the full size!

I was excited for the lashes but they didn’t work at all. I did the liner thick and followed instructions and they just wouldn’t stick. First allure box I am actually disappointed about

Kim

I had the same experience with the lashes!

Fyi I was suddenly charged on Aug 11th even though my account was cancelled. I saw it on my bank acct and not by any emails from the company, my last box was May so this was surprising. My acct says active now and I’m fighting the charges, has anyone else had this happen?

Reply ButtonReply

Yvette

Yup, happened to me. My account is all messed up because of them.

This is my first allure box in a couple months and I’m really looking forward to using the lashes, base layer, tuluna and body oil. Only wish the body oil was full size for once! Seems like in most boxes there’s never a full sized body oil or serum… Ever!

I am a reg annual subscriber and I got my box today. It is the same as the Amazon box.

I love the smell of that new perfume, Good Fortune! It smells amazing! My new favorite scent!

The code SUMMER is not working for me. It says I’ve used it in the past. Haven’t signed up for the August 2022 box yet. Does anyone have another Allure code?

I’m glad I was able to see the spoilers ahead of time so I could skip this month. The spoilers were posted in Allure’s private group on Facebook. It helped to know the spoilers ahead of times since my charge date was the 1st of the month. I’m not impressed with the products this month. Hopefully next month will be better.

Yvette

I wanna join that group! What is the exact name of the group?

I’m so disappointed in this month’s box. I really think I might be cancelling. Money is so tight and I can’t justify spending $23 every month if I’m only going to get a couple things that I’ll actually use and like all the time. I mean, how much is that brow get worth and it’s not even tinted. Not an impressive item. I don’t wear fake eyelashes. Ever. I have plenty of black eyeliner. I already HAVE that blush from a past box and didn’t like it then. (I don’t know why I didn’t trash it yet and now I’ll have another one! Oh boy!) A Sephora brand cleanser that isn’t anything special. I’m just going to stop here. It sounds like I expect it to be customized to me personally and that isn’t my gripe. Allure has changed. It’s hard to lose those expectations this sub box has given me from previous years. It once was such a great box that it spoiled me. I’m so tired of seeing repeat items. When I saw that sunscreen and that lip liner again my first thought was that better not be in this box! I have plenty of product left in both of those same ones I received in a previous box! I’m tired of taking a gamble every month between the repeats and no “WOW factor” anymore. Unfortunetly it’s just not worth it.

I agree with what you said, I keep holding out hope that Allure will start being awesome like they used too! I was surprised to be charged on the 1st this month (that’s never happened) & received my box today Aug 6th, I’ve never received this early. I’m not complaining about that but I thought I had time to skip. The repeat items won’t be in your box. I’ve been subscribed since 2018 & I’ve never gotten a repeat item. The repeats are for new subscribers. In the rare chance you do get a repeat item if you let them know they will make it right & send you something else.

That beauty crop blush is at least 3 years old

Reply ButtonReply

Melissa

You mean the product was introduced 3 years ago? Because that’s different from saying that the product was manufactured 3 years ago.

Reply ButtonReply

Pink5

Personally, I would not be surprised if the product had been sitting in Allure’s warehouse.

I remember that one. The powder side was nasty and crumbly and the cream side was hard to apply

Gwendylon Martin

Ugh wish I would of skipped this one.

Reply ButtonReply

Kimberly Goodwin

I was just thinking the very same thing! This is not worth my $23.00.

Reply ButtonReply

DoxyMama

I can’t believe Allure is including samples from Sephora’s house brand. Those items are usually pretty cheap and Allure is including a SAMPLE???? The sub world as a whole has gone quite mad.

Reply ButtonReply

Linda

I’m not skipping just to use up my annual subscription l’ve already paid. I have only one month left and was waiting for the month that would be worth even $10, but I came to realise that would never come.
I’m not re-subscribing even at discount price. I’m so done with this.
I’m cool if they don’t send me any repeats since I’ve been a member for a while probably for 2-3 years. If they send me repeats, I will still complain! With their system so messed up now, I have no idea if they keep track of how many box I left and do send me the last box though.

Ugh I want to skip.

And I say this so reluctantly because I’ve ended every beauty box subscription other than this one. I think I’m done

Reply ButtonReply

Toni Marie

I agree… i ended every subscription box that i have as well. It’s been 3 yrs since i got makeup and im low, so I think im going to get this box for the magnetic lashes and face polish along with the free charlotte tillsbury lip liner… plus it’s $14 bucks.. then i might cancel again.

Wow, both the Amazon and new boxes are crap.

If you are going to post a tiny photo without writing what’s in the image (like this site always used to do) the picture could at the least be zoomable on mobile. This has been going on for awhile and is basically making the spoiler pages useless. Just one of the big reasons I never come here anymore. It used to be daily 🙁

That is worse than the box from the Allure website. Yikes. Definitely not signing up this month, even with 40% off.

Reply ButtonReply

Preetam

I usually like the Allure box, but this one is a major miss. The Sunday Riley sunscreen is the WORST sunscreen I have ever used. The Tula scrub is extremely harsh on the skin.

Reply ButtonReply

Kelly

I saw Tula and I went “yay!” But then I saw it’s a sugar scrub, which I can’t use because it’s harsh on my skin. Dang.

Reply ButtonReply

LindaL N

I’ve already received the pillow talk liner, the sunscreen and the blush duo. I hope they’re not counting the perfume sample as 1 item! I don’t use lashes or lash glue!!! I get this stuff consistently every month for years now! I’ve given it all away! No one wants this stuff anymore! I don’t like “filler” items” I can buy at a dollar store. I’m seriously considering cancelling. At the very least skip August. I’ve been with Allure Beauty Box for about 7-1/2 – 8 years now and have never been as unhappy as I am now. The “upgraded” so they can justify the price increase but the quality has decreased. Even their customer service has changed. I also noticed in the comments their customer service is now outsourced? It may be time to say good bye or just buy it in Amazon.

The Amazon box is awful. 👎🏻 I’m skipping.

Reply ButtonReply

Tammy g.

looks like months of same.same.same.

Reply ButtonReply

Dea

I use sunscreen most days of the year, but the Sunday Riley one is AWFUL. Thick texture (why is it called “light hearted”? What a racket) and leaves a whitish/purplish cast on my skin that doesn’t go away. Drugstore imitations of Coppertone Sport run circles around Sunday Riley in application ease and in wearability and they cost a quarter of the price.

I hope we can have Amazon spoilers soon. Thank you, Kai – you do so much to bring us information, and it is appreciated!
