I bought the essential starter box in the second sale. I received a Geneva dress in black and white stripe, a short sleeve V-Rex in marsala, and pull on cigarette ponte pants in navy. I had a lackluster time with the mystery box last year, but I’m really happy with my selection this time.

My jeans box from the second sale came in today, size 12. Seine High Rise Skinny Jeans are pretty normal and basically fine, though not good for sitting cross-legged on a couch. Hana patchwork jeans in indigo ($148, no longer sold) are super comfortable, but my husband immediately called them “mom jeans” about 20 times.

I received my Surprise Me box today. I received the Jersey Turtleneck in mineral grey — too tight and clingy for my taste, so I won’t wear it and a Geneva dress in vapor blue (actually a grey). The dress is okay, but overall I’m disappointed. I was hoping for something more interesting, and with the pieces I received in my previous box, maybe something that wasn’t black or grey. Overall, the value of the two boxes I received were on the lower end — less that 50%.

I bought the archival treasure box and received the Misa dress ($130), the Mel mock turtleneck button sweater ($98) and the Lauren sweatshirt ($88), all in either black or gray. I’m not unhappy with my mystery box, but I was hoping for a least one item that was a little more luxe. I have one more box coming, so I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

Received my boxes today! One was a tops box and one was a 2 pc mini set, cant remember the name. lol
I got a pair of cigarette pants in a camel/khaki color which I just know i won’t EVER wear so it’s up for swap.
Got a black tank top which was very nice, a georgette cap sleeve top which I LOVE the cut of ( I have the short sleeve versions), the green /white striped crew neck and a black square neck long sleeve top I “may” keep or swap, not sure yet.
Not a bad batch for $130 ish I guess……

Got my Surprise Me Lite box – it had a black pima cotton V neck cocoon dress that isn’t on their site but looks exactly like the Teresa dress. Not a great look for me, but super nice fabric. Also got a liquid jersey turtleneck in mineral gray that also isn’t on the site but I love the color. Overall not a bad box.

My surprise me lite had a cap sleeve tee rex and a puffer jacket that’s on the site for $198. I was really surprised.

I got these exact same items in my Surprise Me Lite box today. I really like the dress.

Ooh, I would like to get those in my box! Still waiting on my Surprise Me Lite.

My Premium jersey dress box came in today, and I’m quite happy with it.

V-neck Helen dress in maritime blue (88)
Ribbed Danube skirt in black (68)
A crewneck Tee Rex with buttons on the shoulder, in brown sugar (color isn’t great, ut will wear anyway) (50?)

So maybe 50% off? I expect to get a decent amount of wear out of all of them.

I almost didn’t get a box this year, as I really wanted a mystery selection and the initial offerings were too specific. But when the archival treasures was announced, I thought I’d take the plunge. What a waste. The items are all fairly recent (Erdem being one). I guess technically archival, but I was hoping for more interesting pieces, especially at the price. Double what I paid last year and half the value of what I received last year. That is the gamble of a mystery box, but won’t be doing again.

My Tops box arrived. I got a V Neck Dolman sleeve top in Peppercorn, a double V neck tank in Red Ochre, and a Cap sleeve V Rex in Black. Overall happy. The Dolman and V Rex fit well, but the tank fits me a little snug around my stomach. I love the color of the tank so I’ll probably wear it under something.

I got the exact same items/colors. I’m happy with my box, especially the black v rex.

I believe in US and I’ve bought things from them that I’ve really liked. I took a gamble on the mystery box this year and wanted to share my experience in case it’s helpful. I got the archival treasures box because it had the best bang for the buck – $138 for a value of up to $781. Even though it would have been more than I would normally spend ($46/piece of clothing), I figured it would be worth it and I was expecting some amazing items from old collections. Instead I got a pair of joggers ($88), a shortsleeve jumpsuit (can’t find it on the website, but it’s not the twill or denim versions – it’s made out of a stretchy fabric – $135?), and the meg blazer ($198). Extremely underwhelming. I reached out to their customer service – but no joy… I know it says “up to” a value of $781, and I didn’t expect the total to be that high, but I definitely did NOT expect it to be that low.

I won’t be fooled again…

Hi,I got the short-sleeved jumpsuit. In a beautiful blue and it has quickly become one of my favorites. It is cute, stretchy, has pockets, and it feels irreverent and fun.Sorry you were disappointed.

My Surprise Me Mystery Box ($98 with a listed value of up to $548) arrived yesterday. I got a black Rachele lounge robe ($138), a Geneva v-neck dress in Elm ($120), and a short sleeve t-rex t shirt in Tibetan Red ($50). The total value of my the box was $308. My favorite piece is the robe–it feels totally luxe. It’s well-made and I love the weight of the fabric. I also ordered the Surprise Me Lite—I’ll share what I get once that arrives.

My Tops box is supposed to arrive next week, but I also got the email that said the rest of my items could take 1-3 weeks to receive.

Carey

I ordered the tops box andone of the two piece boxes that they released near the end of the sale.
I did get a shipping notification today but also got an email saying it would be 1-3 weeks til they shipped them out. 🙁
I got burned hard last year in these boxes ( got a luxe and two others) so I’m hoping this year is better. 🙂

What was bad about your boxes last year?

Reply ButtonReply

Carey

I think I received a total of 9 pieces and only got to use one, which was a regular tee shirt. 🙁
I received ALL long sleeve or winter clothes which were useless to me pretty much since I live in Florida. Talking sweaters, sweatshirts and a trench coat that went to my ankles! One of the shirts in the tops box was a petite even though I didn’t order a petite box. I offered to send back the luxe box that was $250 at my cost and I pay a restocking fee but they wouldnt budge.
Not all their fault, just a bad luck of the draw for me. I think the boxes were geared towards geographic locations though, like a northeast box etc…. unless that was the year before. I had bad luck that year too, they sent me the wrong size tops and wouldn’t exchange or refund me on those.
NOTE I LOVE their jeans and tees. I wear their jeans probably 6 days a week, I have so many. The trick is to sign up for the emails and get the sale items when they roll around. I grabbed 5 pairs about a month or two ago for $35 each!
AND if you dont fit into them anymore within a year they let you exchange them out for new clothes.

Lola

I got my archive box today! Much better than past mystery boxes. I’m a little concerned about the fit on the dress I got but I’m hoping it works out.
Spoilers:
I got a printed half button placket shirt dress with a tie waist- so cute
A black blazer in a shorter cut
Really cute green joggers with a small zipper at the ankle.

I got a Tops box and a Mystery Box Lite. First time ordering from them so I’m excited to see what I get and the quality of the clothing.

Molly

It’s interesting they’re adding new categories this time as some of them run out.

I ended up ordering three boxes – first time. I’m nervous but excited. When I was checking out a code came up on my honey ext. which took a percentage off my order (I think like ten) INF-EMILY10
YMMV – Good luck!

Alison

Thank you for the code. It worked for me.

I have some items from Universal Standard that I love, but I was not impressed at all with the Petites box I received in a previous mystery box sale. It had three very basic shirts (essentially undershirts), and I think that has put me off these boxes forever.

I was shocked that mine has shipped already! I was prepared to settle in and wait. I always love these boxes so much!

I ordered a jersey box, though on second thought it may be a size too large. I hope it comes with a dress, since they give the option to select that or pants. I got the tops box last year, and they were all super soft jersey and feel lovely.

I got 3 of these last year and enjoyed them. Unfortunately I can’t afford it this year which I’m really unhappy about since they would have made great birthday gifts to myself.

Emily

I am disappointed that the prices are so much higher this year. Too expensive a gamble for me.

I always buy a box and sell most of the items. I get to keep a piece or two and at least break even if not make a few dollars.
