Christmas is almost here, which means it is almost time for one of my favorite days of the year... December 26, when Lush has their only sale of the year and beauty lovers around the world eagerly wait for Beautylish to launch their Lucky Bag sale. Let's take a look at the details of this sale and why it has a cult following among beauty lovers.

The Details About This Once A Year Deal

If you've never heard of a Beautylish Lucky Bag, the concept comes from Beautylish's take on the Japanese New Year tradition of fukubukuro: mystery bags full of their favorite products. There will be four types of lucky bags available this year:

Original Lucky Bag ($75 for $150+ of products)

Lucky Bag XL ($150 for $300+ of products - available in the US only)

Get One, Give One (Two ORIGINAL Lucky Bags for $150 total - you’ll get one, and they’ll donate the other to Ruby's Place)

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Lucky Bag ($75 for $150+ USD of JSC products)

Shipping is $10 in the US for the original Lucky Bag and $15 for the XL Lucky Bag, $15 to Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Germany, and France, and $20 to just about everywhere else. If you choose to purchase a Get One, Give One Lucky Bag, shipping will be free. Lucky Bags will ship the week of January 17, 2022.

One important thing to note: these do sell out, and they send to sell out quickly. You can sign up to be on the early access list here.

Pro Tip: Beautylish recently launched an app called Launch Club that you can use during checkout for a much quicker checkout process to increase your chances of getting a Lucky Bag. The app has been out for a few months, and I downloaded it as soon as I learned about it.

Another Pro Tip: If you're looking forward to grabbing a Lucky Bag this year, I want to share something I learned through my three years of receiving them so far. The first two years I would eagerly look forward to my bag and would scour Instagram and Reddit for spoilers. By the time my box actually got to me, I had created the ideal box in my head based on what other people has received, and I think that took away from the overall experience. Last year, I tried really hard to avoid spoilers, and I think that is one reason I was really happy with my Lucky Bag. Of course, looking at all possible spoilers may be the best experience for you - whatever it is, I hope you have fun.

Interested in learning about what types of products you can expect to receive in a Beautylish Lucky Bag? I've reviewed a bag each of the past three years. All three bags have been the original one, but I would classify my 2021 Lucky Bag as an extra Lucky Bag. Here is a link to the 2019 review, the 2020 review, and the 2021 review.

Are you going to try to grab a Lucky Bag this year? If you've ordered one in previous years, what came inside?

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.
