KiwiCo Launches New Yummy Crate Subscription to Teach the Science of Cooking
Now your kids can cook YOU dinner–and learn at the same time! KiwiCo has launched the new Yummy Crate, which gives kids aged 6-14 the confidence to cook and teaches them about the science of cooking. “Now [kids] can experience the joy of preparing and sharing a meal,” the brand says. “All while taking a bite out of big scientific ideas like biology and chemistry in the kitchen.”
Priced at $17.50, each crate comes with three kid-tested recipe cards, a specialty cooking tool, two hands-on projects, and a magazine full of history, science, comics and more. The crate will also have a zine for adults with a shopping list and recipe customizations.
Some sample crates include:
Tasty and Toasty: Explore the delicious browning power of the Maillard reaction with hearty hamburgers, golden smashed potatoes, crispy chicken tenders, and more hands-on activities.
Bright and Delightful: Dig into healthful and colorful phytonutrients with the Korean rice bowl bibimbap, savory salmon skewers, fruity rainbow smoothies, and more hands-on activities.
Rise and Shine: Learn how leaveners help make food light and airy with stacks of fluffy pancakes, thin folded pancakes, sweet strawberry syrup, and more hands-on activities.
Our STEAM-based approach is designed to foster a love for the true science of cooking, with recipes and activities that explore hands-on creativity and experimentation. It’s the perfect ingredients for family bonding time. And frankly, learning never tasted so good.
Pre-orders for the new Yummy Crates are available now–shipping will start in November and is free in the United States.
