Ipsy Glam Bag X August 2021 Choice Time!

So I decided to resign up on an old account and tweak my profile to hopefully get some things I’d actually like and I’m honestly surprised and super excited for my Glam Bag X!
I didn’t get to choose since I signed up late but Ipsy chose right:

Has anyone else not received their GBX yet? It says mine was shipped 8/11, but I have zero tracking updates.

I’m not thrilled with mine this quarter, but I did at least get the glow recipe product I was wanting. The big duds for me are the ather (sp?) palette and the herbivore oil. I onlu wear neutrals as shadows, so a palette with greens and blues is a no go for me. Then the oil is a waste for me since I have oily skin. I have tried a couple in the winter at night, but they often break me out or cause issues with my cpap mask. I prefer gel creams that absorb a bit.

Oh well, I’ll gift or toss what I won’t use, but it just makes me sad.

Did anyone else get a low value? Mine barely adds up to $260, seems kind of low based on what I would expect from a $60 box. However, at the same time I know I’ll use everything. Ipsy chose:
-tatcha primer (could use a new one)
-about face liquid highlighter (was hoping for the powder one)
-the mascara (just eh about it)
-Hervivore emerald oil (excited about it)
-volition moisturizer (will definitely get used)

-laneige berry lip mask (about to run out of the one I have)
-Charlotte Tilbury lip pencil (had this on my wishlist)
-glamnetic press on nails (again last choice is always crap for me, so got this for my sister)

I am beyond stoked! Mine is worth $595 and very happy with Ipsy choices for me. 🥰🥰🥰

I got about face fight or flight glow recipe face mask fenty mascara the pallette herbivore botanicals emerald oil then I picked the bag the perfume and the brushes.

It really bothers me that we have to choose between an item or the bag, which is relatively low value compared to the items. I forget that ipsy does this for the X bag over the two months we get the regular glam bag plus, and then I’m reminded at third X bag customization. I chose the Tarte clay pot instead.

Overall, I can’t complain. I really wanted the Tatcha primer (got it) and Glow Recipe clay mask (nope) and am happy to get the Volition moisturizer. I wanted to try but didn’t get The Nue Co. face cleanser because I’m going to need one soon. So I put ALWAYS on face masks and cleansers in my profile and it didn’t work. I also put NEVER on highlighters and face oils and got the About Face This Bliss powder highlighter and Herbivore emerald oil, which I’m both going to swap.

I’m looking forward to the Prose hair perfume. I’ve never gotten a fragrance choice (marked ALWAYS on my profile and all scents checked), although this is technically for hair. I also chose the Roan lip balm in Charlie. Otherwise, I’m getting the Fenty mascara. I would’ve liked to try the Wander eye liner in Napa…

I got almost the same thing, but the blue lapis oil and the watermelon glow recipe instead of the Emerald oil and cleanser.

Then i picked the Dr Brandt DNA, collagen serum, and the leave in conditioner.

Two of the spoiler items that I was interested in, the DefineMe fragrance & the Glow Recipe lip balm, weren’t offered to me as a choice. Though from what I gathered, they were both in the first category, and I would have picked the Bread over them anyway. Once again, wasn’t thrilled by anything in the third category, & picked something I’m just kinda meh about.

I’m happy with my bag, although I would have liked the GR mask (but I got a full size one as a Sephora VIB reward, so I’m ok that I didn’t get it) and the Volition moisturizer, but such is life. My bag:

I didn’t realize my Ipsy account had a billing error (ipsy never emailed me). As I logged in to “pick my items” for Glam X, I noticed the billing error which I updated. After updating billing, I was not able to access “personalization” nor the “add Ons.” This is frustrating bc I’m worried the “good picks” will “sell out.” Does anybody know if Ipsy releases “personalization” in batches (i.e. not everyone customizes on the same day)? Has anyone been in a similar situation before? Thanks!

I wasn’t super impressed with the last Glam Bag X (I really wanted that Charlotte Tilbury cream, but the only thing I ended up with that I was happy with was the Herbivore Prism mask… everything else was just blah), so if this one was equally as uninspiring I was going to just cancel. I almost did when they released the first sneak peek and it had the Tatcha primer, which I’m really not a fan of. But I’m actually pleased with most of my products this time! I got:

– About-Face Light Lock highlight fluid (I’ve purchased other items from Halsey’s new line and liked them, so I’m ok with this even though I rarely use highlighter)
– ĀTHR Beauty Moonlight Crystal palette (I’m a palette hoarder, I have about 25, and this looks beautiful so I’m thrilled to add to my collection lol)
– Fenty mascara (this is actually my favorite mascara and I needed a new tube since the last one died out from non-use over the last year and a half, so I’m stoked about this)
– Herbivore Emerald oil (I have so many Herbivore oils, including about half a dozen mini sample bottles of this one, but I love it and will definitely use!)
– Volition Beauty Yaupon Tea moisturizer (feeling meh about this one, my skin can be finicky with moisturizers)
– Laneige Apple Lime lip mask (not my favorite scent but I go through this stuff like crazy so I’m glad to have another one)
– Complex Culture brush set (I have dozens of brushes and don’t need more, but didn’t find anything else in this choice group appealing)
– Tarte rose gold clay shadow liner (I like rose gold but I find these kinds of pots of products dry out really quickly and then they’re useless, so… we’ll see)
– Herbivore Lapis oil (like I said, I love Herbivore oils, so when I saw this as an add-on for such a great price I had to snap it up!)

So yeah. Overall, much happier with this box. I hope the trend continues!

I am having a hard time trying to decide between the sonage collagen boosting serum and the roan lip gloss. Does anyone have experience with either of these products? I will use both so I can’t decide and the value isn’t a factor since I will use both. I would say quality is the factor. Thanks
