halsey

Ipsy has partnered with Halsey in August, and that means the Glam Bag X is chock-full of the singer's favorites and we've got full spoilers for the August 2021 Glam Bag x Halsey!

Ipsy Glam Bag X is an upgrade to the monthly Ipsy membership available for Ipsy Glam Bag and Ipsy Glam Bag Plus subscribers. It's quarterly and costs an additional $43/shipment for Glam Bag members and $30/shipment for Glam Bag Plus members — and this time it's extra special with the addition of Halsey's curation skills.

Here's what you could get:

1. FENTY BEAUTY Full Frontal Volume, Lift & Curl Mascara (MSRP $24)
Whether you’re performing on a stage like Halsey or giving a presentation on Zoom, this mascara has got you covered. The innovative brush lifts, curls, defines, and separates for a dramatic lash look that won’t smudge or smear for hours.

2. TATCHA The Silk Canvas Filter Finish Protective Primer (MSRP $52)
One of the most important beauty lessons Halsey has learned from her years in the spotlight: the power of primer. This one from Tatcha is a favorite thanks to blurring silk extract, mattifying silk powder, and a velvety texture that grips foundation for all-day wear.

3. ABOUT-FACE Light Lock Powder in Smother, Stars on Fire, and This Bliss (MSRP $30 each)
The secret to Halsey’s next-level glow? You’re looking at. Infused with ultra-fine and smooth pigments, it gives skin a luminous, glass-like finish. Sheer it out with fingers or pack it on with a brush to customize your level of shine.

4. ABOUT-FACE Light Lock Highlight Fluid in Fight or Flight, Shaken or Stirred, and Sunstruck (MSRP $32 each)
Leave it to Halsey to create a highlighter that’s as versatile as you. The shimmery liquid can be used three ways: an illuminating base, an intense highlighter, or a glow-booster in your foundation.

5. CHARLOTTE TILBURY Lip Liner in Pillow Talk Medium (MSRP $22)
Celeb makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury designed this neutral-colored pencil with one thing in mind: to make it easy to achieve fuller lips in seconds. Use it on the perimeter of your lips to define, resize, and reshape your pout, or all over as a base under your favorite neutral lipstick.

6. RÓEN BEAUTY Kiss My Liquid Lip Balm in Charlie (MSRP $26)
Think of this as a non-sticky alternative to traditional lip glosses. One swipe hydrates, smooths, and nourishes just like a balm (thank you, mango and grapeseed oils) and coats lips in a sheer, shiny tint that doesn’t feel sticky or gooey.

7. HERBIVORE BOTANICALS Emerald Deep Moisture Glow Oil (MSRP $48)
A few drops are like a warm hug for your skin—it calms, soothes, nourishes, moisturizes, and even protects from environmental aggressors. You can thank the hemp seed oil (it’s rich in fatty acids and vitamin E), squalane, turmeric root, and ashwagandha for those benefits.

8. THE NUE CO Barrier Culture Cleanser (MSRP $42)
The one skincare step Halsey *never* skips? A good cleanse at the end of the day. This two-in-one formula removes makeup and gently cleanses without stripping your skin thanks to a blend of prebiotics, probiotics, and postbiotics.

9. GLOW RECIPE Watermelon Glow Hyaluronic Clay Pore-Tight Facial (MSRP $40)
When your skin needs a reset, reach for this powerful purifying mask. It’s as effective as a pro treatment—but only takes five minutes at home. The combo of gentle clays, fruit enzymes, and exfoliating acids get rid of dead skin cells, build-up, and excess oil for clear, glowing skin.

10. VOLITION BEAUTY Yaupon Tea Glow-Awakening Moisturizer (MSRP $39)
Meet yaupon tea. It’s being dubbed the new matcha, and also happens to be the hero ingredient in this moisturizer that energizes dull, tired skin in a flash. It’s rich in caffeine to help reduce puffiness, increase circulation, soothe redness and inflammation, and give your vitality boost.

11. ĀTHR BEAUTY Moonlight Crystal Palette (MSRP $58)
What do you get when you combine vegan ingredients, sustainable packaging, and crystal-infused powders? This epic Halsey-exclusive palette. Mix and match the shadows (you can use them wet or dry) to create your perfect shimmery eye look.

I’d like the Athr Beauty palette, but the rest of it I can take or leave.

I got the Herbivore oil in Sephora’s CBD skin care set from a while back and it’s just okay.

The Glow Recipe mask sounds like it might irritate my skin.

I only revived my Ipsy sub to get the July Plus bag because I think it’s cool, so I don’t want the X.

Is there any way to guarantee an item? Athr is the only eyeshadow brand I can wear without getting irritated and I’m desperate for that palette! But without that this definitely wouldn’t be worth it.

Anne, I’d be curious to see if you could. Maybe set every item in your beauty profile to “rarely” except “often” for eye shadow?

If you’ve been an Ipsy subscriber for a while, they’ll still have other data on your preferences from reviews, but I imagine this would skew the algorithm in favor of giving you eye shadow.

Has anyone else noticed that the value ipsy claims for your classic bags and bag plus’ include the retail value of the addons you’ve purchased as well? Is that how they get to a $500 value for bag X? People buy add-ons and that is what gets the value to $500? SMH 🤨 things that make you go 🤔

I just went ahead and cancelled my Glam X but just kept the regular $12 bag, for now. None of the items in the August Glam X box excited me in the least. 😟

Nothing exciting for me this month. I am glad I skip a month!

I’m salty , I wanted to skip a month because this months plus is really bad and you can’t pause if you do , you don’t get your Glam Bag x in Aug . They know they have you, but If this x is bad I will cancel. It has just been going down hill since they bought
boxycharm . They both have gone down hill !!

Same here, JT. I do like Marion’s suggestion to switch from GBP to the regular GB. At least it is cheaper in the long run. My GBP doesn’t have anything that is something that I don’t have or something that I have zero interest. Now that I’m seeing the spoilers, I’m wishing I had just left it canceled.

I quit Boxy a year ago, and IPSY, too. Only recently re-joined just GBP and GBX again. Time will tell.

There are plenty of women’s shelters that can always use quality products. If there is still a plastic seal or silver cover on the opening, I almost always donate so that they know that they are getting something new. It makes me feel much better.

If you get base, you can skip Plus & still get the next month’s X.

There’ve been a lot more spoilers in Instagram reels & such. Influences have started getting their PR boxes already.

Also spoiled:
– DefineMe Kahana perfume oil
– Prose Corsica hair perfume
– Treats Beauty lash serum
– Kim Chi Chic Beauty blush
– Glamnetic press-on nails
– LaNeige Apple Lime lip mask

+ some other unexciting skincare stuff I don’t remember (check out IpsyvsBoxy on Instagram)

I’ve never heard of any of these brands. Are they DLS brands, which Ipsy will invariably claim outrageous rv on ? Hair perfume, more lash serum and press on nails !??? Hard pass…….

I cancelled Ipsy completely and am not looking back. I was thrilled with the first two X bags, but this one leaves me cold. No “must haves” at all.

Nothing I can’t live without. The Volition Beauty & Glow recipe are showing up in every beauty/skin care box right now. Not excited by the mascara or the lip pencil – I like Fenty and Charlotte Tilbury but I would prefer other items besides these. Masacara and Lip pencil seem to be the most cheap skate items they could pull from both of these lines. I don’t see a hero product or anyway possible this box will have a $500 RV. Unless they throw a set of Laruce brushes in and claim they are worth 200.00 🤣. I love the concept of the Glambag X but it has gone down hill since the launch.
Incidently I have 2 different ipsy accounts – I have eyeshadow marked as rarely and skincare marked as often – last quarter (in both X bags) I received no skincare (other than the 111) and in both recieved the Patrick Starrr eyeshadow palette 😫🥱. Needless to say I wasn’t thrilled. I gave both away. So my point is I’m not holding my breath that it will be any better this time.
