Signed up for spring during Black Friday than immediately canceled. This will be my 1st box. If they have a deal once again for Black Friday this year, I’ll probably get it. Don’t think I want more than 1 box per year as I’ll have too much product.

Waitlisted for Spring box, is there any hope?

Sammy, I got an email yesterday asking me to call them about an address issue and they included a call back phone number – said that Fedex couldn’t find my address (that I’ve used for this box for the past two years). I soon after received another email with a shipment notice, but they did ask me to give them a call.

I was waitlisted for the winter box and got one! I got an email and then had to call to get it within 48 hours or something I think??

Greta

Nope. You won’t get one. Sorry.

Does anybody know if Margot Elena sends any samples or something nice with regular store orders?

I remember reading a comment from someone, but it was a couple years ago, that they’d received a lotion sampler free with an order. I think it might have been after CS corrected an issue for then, though! Anyways, I don’t think it’s a typical thing.

As for the box, it actually varies in the number of items. The value seems to be pretty consistent – between $205-$225, usually, but items can be numerous small ones or fewer bigger ticket items. I think the first box had 25+ things in it! More commonly now it’s 10ish. But, over time there has been a shift to including more full size vs. an assortment of travel sizes, and bigger ticket items from the store. Special exclusive extras, like turkish bath towels, special journals, kimonos, etc. are often included as well. Overall, that actually makes it better for re-gifting items and leads to less product overload on the smaller stuff.

I had never received a sub box until I discovered this site (thank you, MSA, for being a God send and a corrupting force at the same time! J/k) and Margot Elena was my first (luckily it was pre-waiting list).

I agree with you completely that the assortment of items is one of the unique highlights for this box. Every box I receive, I immediately (yet delicately…somehow, though I’m more of a “bull-in-a-China-shop” kind of girl) unbox and decide which items are for me me me, and which items are perfect for certain friend(s). I’m never disappointed by what I (do or do not) receive. This is such a good box, and as others have mentioned, if you can’t get in on the box just yet, maybe peruse the ME web shop. Yes, you’ll pay more, but the quality is full on and you WILL enjoy what you buy. I wish I could promise that, but I can’t.

I can just attest to my own experience (which is, every product I’ve bought from ME at full retail…and it’s a lot)…has been top quality. My only (but significant) gripe is that the perfume scents have little to no longevity and low silliage. This saddens (and maddens) me because the scents are incredible…ethereal, even…but even if I douse myself in one, or completely layer one (such as Wish in body wash, dry oil, body cream, AND spray cologne…yes, I have these because I fell in love with it), the scent is still gone within 30 minutes. I can’t even get it to linger on my clothes. Every other scent I own (except Philosophy Amazing Grace) lingers at least for a bit either in me or my shirt. So while I LOVE Margot Elena scents and product quality, I will only ever give them four overall stars out of five because, as much as I love them, the glaring lack of longevity of the fragrances is a rookie mistake that they can and should address.

Karen

I’ve never seen any samples in regular orders and I’ve ordered maybe 5 or 6 times. In fact, I just ordered the Lollia perfume because I loved the scent from the shower gel so much and I reordered the beet shower oil from yhe fall box because I was literally shaking the bottle to get the last drop out.

There’s nothing like spending $87 for two items to make me realize what a bargain the box is!

Karen, I feel you! After my first LE box (a year ago or so), I then went to the website and bought so many other things. I have many Lollia products, including the full boat of Wish (love it!). Then I was so pleasantly surprised with two of the perfumes in recently past boxes: Song if the Siren and (heart) and soul. Just beautiful scents. I can’t wait for this next box!

SC

Yeah, we are spoiled on the box. I just hope they don’t keep raising the price. If they do, they had better add another item in!

Tami

WOW, why a $10 price increase? Are there more items in the box?

Shipping fees are higher now as well and because they use a lot of glass, the boxes are heavy. As well as employees working under COVID restrictions and PPE costs (can you tell I own a small business, lol?) I don’t think they had much of a choice.

I cancelled my subscription. Unfortunately I haven’t seen them promote if th price hike is for better. However a price hike during pandemic just feels wrong.

Amber – probably best not to assume what’s going on in someone else’s life during a pandemic ok.. not cool

Amber

I just can’t imagine crying repeatedly over an extra $3.33 per month on a luxury item. This isn’t a necessity, you clearly have expendable income. Just skip a Starbucks run and you’ll be fine.

Sarah

A price hike on essentials would be wrong, but I consider this a luxury item and while it’s fun, it’s not a necessity. There are boxes out there that don’t fit into my budget and so I don’t buy them – life goes on. I don’t get all salty over it.

Em

They’re suffering through a pandemic also, or do you just not see them as people? Besides, those who are buying these boxes during the pandemic must not have been monetarily affected all that much by it, or else they wouldn’t have the discretionary income to add to their overflowing stash of skincare products on a monthly basis.

Jennifer

This sub was definitely “under-priced” when it came out, so I would guess the price increase is both to keep up with costs as well as to help mitigate the problem of boxes selling out well in advance of the season. Since many of her items include packaging (which costs extra money) + they are very well wrapped/presented (which costs money to hire those taking the time to ensure each box is like unwrapping a present) + most boxes include an item which is unique to the box and needs developed/sourced/paid for in advance, a price-jump makes sense. She isn’t source other people’s brands at steep discounts, she’s pulling from her own merchandise.

I agree as well. Of course it would be nice if it cost less. It would always be nice if things cost less. But about $8 an item seems reasonable enough, since the supply chain has probably been disrupted a bit, and inflation is still carrying on. It’s better than sending fewer, smaller items IMO.

I just subscribed, and don’t expect to buy one every season, but more like once or twice a year as a treat.

Sarah

Jennifer I completely agree with you! I am the first to protest any kind of price hike, but this one made sense and I’m ok with it. The ME box doesn’t seem to have the quality issues and massive delays that some of the other popular boxes have – if they did, I would question the hike. This is definitely a great value, even with the price hike.

Al

Gee it is not often I see people say “price hike makes sense” lol…

Al

It’s become too expensive and the price hike during pandemic is awful. Glad you can afford the price hike

Chantel

I am getting very frustrated that MSA is not including the shipping price that they’re now charging in these posts.

Greta

They have always charged shipping. Relax.

AC

I thought they always charged for shipping? I haven’t had this box in a while, but I recall that back when they had the amazing annual sub deal, I bought one and it also tacked on shipping costs for each box.

Joy

Yes, they have always charged for shipping.
