Still waiting for a refund for the Mystery Box that never showed up from the last round. From the reveals, I am glad they never sent it. However, it would be nice to not have to open a dispute with my bank because customer service has reached peak incompetence. Another sub I used to love but will never give money to in the future. Hopefully, they can bounce back because I know so many people love them.

I’ve always talked myself out of these mystery boxes before. (Lets be honest they’ve usually been sold out by the time I hear about them but still…:)

I can say with certainty I will not have much trouble in the future. The 2 day shipping was the only positive for me. I bought the lifestyle only (aka most expensive option) but noted I would love BATH items likes bombs steamers salt soaks etc. but only BATH related products. Especially considering the $20 price increase I paid when I LOVE bath spa type products but wasn’t willing to risk a bunch more beauty surplus to give away.
Needless to say I got:
the exact Kombucha set as originally (I was pretty sure this would be my disappointing but fully expected product before ordering so that’s cool.)
The exact pair of earrings as last month.
The glass bottled hand sanitizer we all got 2 boxes ago maybe?
Another sticker art book?
The exact same (pink) candle as a couple boxes ago. ( I chose the yellow the first time around but got this same pink then… )

side note: MY choice items rarely arrive as the item I actually chose….. so perhaps keep an open mind that you may or may not get your preferred “selections.”

Anyway for my items that weren’t IDENTICAL duplicates from the past couple months I got:

Brown arm warmers….. I believe thats what they are
Travel Bag
Eco laundry strips…..
Toilet bombs….
Autobiography book……

Lemon essential oil…….. yeah this is a repeat as well but in this specific instance I was grateful! I will never complain about receiving essential oils. Only wish there were more of them lol!

The only items I was even slightly intrigued by $70 later ($10 in BC Rewards used) and 3 days later?

The Lemon essential oil. The toilet bombs and the autobiography book.

I hope someone will learn from my mistake lol.

Sounds like a skip for anyone who is a recent subscriber. As I am not, everything was new to me and a good value.

My mystery box that I ordered two days ago arrived today. I purchased the Lifestyle only box and got a ton of stuff, with almost everything being from recent (last 1-2 months) monthly or seasonal lifestyle boxes. Very little “throw away” stuff in the box. I’m glad I got one. I’ll try to find some time to list out what I received.

I do feel very bad for those who got poor mystery boxes in the past. Mine prior ones have all been at least ok, the value was there even if I didn’t necessarily like all the items. This most recent one was probably the best one I’ve gotten.

Same here. I was so regretting the purchase after reading the comments but I’m happy with it.
Some of the items are the same ones Julia got but I chose lifestyle only:
candle (citrus crush), mustard arm warmers, detox tea, legend of me, and snack bar.
Additional items were:
kombucha starter kit, toilet bombs, 80% alcohol sanitizing elixir, Andrea gold earrings, laundry detergent strips, sticker yourself happy book, and grand trunk weekender toiletry bag.

I’m pretty sure that’s the exact same box I got. Everything sounds familiar.

I have ordered the $59 box on 9th and received it it today Dec 11th. (they ship from Atlanta and I am in Atlanta).
I got:
1. large Illume Golden Honeysuckle Lidded Ceramic candle (rv $28).
2. south mane set of 4 bath bombs (rv $20).
3. The Legend of Me do it yourself autobiography journal (rv $17).
4. one snack bar.
5. detox loose leaf tea.
6.Pinky Up Harper Ceramic Teapot (rv $27).
7. Bon Bon body scrub (rv $24) it slightly smells like old cosmetics and might have gone bad. I will contact customer support.
8. Bombay & Cedar Lemon Essential Oil (Rv $15).
9. Willa Face The Day tinted sunscreen for face (rv 12).
10. Lippy Clip Original Lip balm holder plus lip balm (rv $10).
11. Evolve Hydrating Serum (rv $68).
12. Noto Hydra Highlighter Pot (rv $26).
13. Here & There small wooden Inspire wall art.
14 mustard colored arm warmers.

Overall I am happy with the box. Never subscribed to Bombay & Cedar and all the items are new to me. I will use or gift most of them.

I got an October mystery box and I really liked it. Yes, it did take a long time to get to my house but when I finally got it, I was very surprised! I got this cool tool kit, bath bombs, lip liner, an expensive face serum, some pretty journals, and some other stuff I cant remember. I would rate that box a 6 out of 10.
I recently ordered the lifestyle box and the beauty box two days ago and it has already shipped. So the shipping time is much better than the October boxes. I would def. get any kind of mystery box because they fill it to the top with stuff and it exceeds the price point at least 5 times over. Yes, they are mystery boxes and you may get stuff you do not like, but thats the fun in it.

Never again. Fool me once. Their mystery boxes are a joke. Last year i received a plant grower thing that never worked, some snack, sleep aid thing, a clutch. Literally 3 scrubs!! That were already opened and some bracelets. Horrible.

I ordered the mega box last time it was offered and also got cheap and old items. Off brand eyeshadow, super cheap tweezers, bath bombs, brown lipstick, almost all beauty items except for 2 items which were notebooks. The majority were not things from previous boxes. It appears they ordered things from Ali express or some cheap wholesaler to make up the boxes. I ordered and paid in September, didn’t get shipping notice until late October (shipping was promised 10/1) and then the box sat for 3 weeks waiting to be shipped. Over 2 months from placing the order until receiving the box. Never again, what a waste of $

Worse boxes ever! $60 “Mega Box” had dollar store diffuser, notebook “journals”, charcoal bags, etc. I estimated about total $50 value (generous) for items, not even the cost of the box!!!! The deluxe box was the same junk. Was looking for some presents for coworkers, would be ashamed to give anything. Plus it took 2+ months for the mega one to come.

I couldn’t wait to come over here to read some of the comments. Priceless! I’m am crying from laughter over here and feel all your pain completely. Did anyone read that the mystery box will SHIP WITHIN 2 DAYS OF PURCHASE!p)🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 You can’t make those claims when every box from November is still not shipped.

JEM

Don’t do it. Complete mess. The only mystery is how long it will take to arrive and then how horrible the items are haha

Run screaming from this! I ordered the most expensive one last time and think dirty, old items (mostly makeup) thrown in a box with no padding. Horrible waste of money and the customer service was equally deplorable.

Aarjullor

Yeah, a whole lotta nope. Not doing this again. A waste of money for junk I didn’t like, need and could barely give away.

I thought for a moment about the beauty mystery box one, then said to myself: “What, are you a nitwit? If you can spare $39 (which you can’t, right now), then get ipsy shop stuff and get exactly what you want.”

I’ve bought two of these mystery boxes, both of them mega boxes. The first I liked. The second was a disaster. It was damaged and dirty, but the contents weren’t worth $60 ($70?) anyway. They did accept the return. Both boxes took well over a month to arrive, maybe even a month after the initially promised ship date. That’s just my experience. I know others have really enjoyed their mystery boxes, but a lot haven’t.

I seem to be unable to resist a mystery box, so I grabbed one of the Lifestyle ones (and used reward points to bring the cost down, which was nice). I really like this new format they are offering. I’ve gotten a couple of B&C mystery boxes in the past, and have been kinda meh about them, mostly because the makeup/beauty/skincare included were things I already had or wouldn’t use, but the lifestyle items I liked. That’s really a personal preference thing, so I think it’s great that they have boxes tailored to those who would prefer beauty, those who don’t want it, and those in between. I’m very curious to see what I get!

With that said, I find it a little disappointing that they are shipping these right away (supposedly w/in 2 business days from order) when they remain so backlogged in shipping their regular boxes. November lifestyle boxes haven’t even shipped yet (and certainly not December’s). Ditto on Winter seasonal. So mystery boxes will arrive before Christmas but the regular boxes (where some selections were made, perhaps with holiday gift-giving in mind…) very well may not. Sometimes I don’t understand the decisions B&C makes with respect to getting themselves out of the major shipping backlog hole they’re in. I mean, the pandemic hasn’t made things easy on them, I 100% get that it has caused delays, but there are still choices to be made wrt allocation of resources, and I feel at times they aren’t making the sensible choices there.

Ok, shutting up now…

Nope, never again!

I am hesitant to get one of these… I would want the lifestyle box box instead of the beauty one but 59 dollars for things I could potentially not like.. I don’t know. What are y’all thinking? Is anybody gonna grab one?

Jill

I recommend looking at the comments (not the review itself) in the last B&C Mystery Box review they did on here…

Beth

I gotta check this last review out….oh and they have a picture of the paint by numbers and the box and the month it came out in were all gone because i picked it and didn’t receive. They have all these pictures of stuff that was out when it was time to pick what you wanted so that’s just crazytown too!

Julia

Yes! Def look at the comments. The boxes sent to MSA vs regular customers are quite different.

Taylor

I got their last mystery box, the 40 or 50 dollar one, I thought it was nice!
