My premium box was amazing.

I was actually thinking of purchasing the Murad hydrating toner and the Kosas skin tint so when I saw that I got these in my box I was excited.

I live in Vancouver Canada and I feel like We are the last to get our boxes and honestly I was really disappointed in last months box. Omg my fabfitfun fall box was terrible as well.

Everyone is right it’s super hit and miss but I manage to sell a lot of my stuff on Poshmark so I’m okay with it.

Just received my October box wow I’m so freaking impressed I love everything in it it’s the first time and about a year I love the beauty bakery breakfast and bed eyeshadow palette I loved the Wunderlist set of brushes oh my God The dose of colors meet your concealer perfect the Ace beauty draw a li p liner duo magnificent The lip color I’m in love… Way to go boxycharm for once

I’m feeling pretty salty that most of the Premium products are available in add-ons for super cheap prices. Why should I keep my subscription if I can just get Base and buy only the items I want in add-ons? I can’t think of a good reason…

I just did the math on how much my box would have cost if I had purchased it through add-ons, and it would have been $37 without the palette (which I am not even going to open), which still makes it slightly cheaper to have the subscription. FWIW, I received the eyebrow pencil, lip liners, Murad spray, creme blush/highlighter duo in the mauve shade, and swipeys, and I really enjoy using everything I received. I usually have good luck with products from Fenty, Murad, and Kosas, so I wasn’t surprised about enjoying those, but I was really pleasantly surprised by how well the lip liners work for me. I’m in it for the discovery (and early access to sales), and there are certainly months when I have been less thrilled by the items in my premium box than I was this month, so I hear you, but I got lucky with this month.

I was very disappointed in my box this month. I’m not even going to open the palette. I heard enough reviews and saw people testing it so I know it won’t show up nicely on my deeper skintone. I’ll keep it in its shrink-wrap. The Laura Gellar lipstick shade that I received is probably the worst possible one for my complexion (baby pastel pink). I am happy with the Kosas foundation and will use the swipes. I got a pair of MAC lashes which I will never use and are not on my beauty quiz. I wish they would pay attention to the quizzes.

BTW, there is a new hair quiz on there now.

Ended up liking 2 products so it covers the box cost barely….
My base box shipped yesterday so hopefully there will be more wins in that one.

I got the swipeys and had actually wanted the Murad toner. I would be willing to swap with you if you would like to. I thought the swipeys sounded interesting, but my skin has not been liking any kind of chemical exfoliation lately. The Murad line tends to work well for me and I’ve been trying to find a toner that works for me.

I just received mine. It is the strangest thing though because not only did I not receive a shipping email, but when I go to my account online there is no tracking number and it still says “Shipping” instead of “Shipped” Oh well, it’s no big deal, just odd.

Not loving this month’s products overall, but out of everything offered I would have picked these except the lashes I have tons never use them ever.

It came today. I want to talk about the terrible $12 palette we all got before listing the rest. Idk how it is for the rest of y’all, hopefully the quality varies. I gave this palette to my 4 year old. It’s bad, like really really bad. The shade Izzy is dried up and no glitter goes on my fingers. Purple Dream doesn’t swatch at all. The rest are patchy and basically the same quality as play makeup.

Clarins (yay, rather have this over the toner) $9

Kosas chapstick $4
Kosas foundation oil (choice) $42
Cheapo $4 LG liquid lipstick (does not dry)

So the box is worth $77. $42 of that is just the foundation. So the rest of the box is worth $35, so it’s filler and equals the price of the box. It all has to do with what the products are worth to the individual though, we all have different taste. To me, the foundation is not worth $42 because I’ll never be able to wear it. I imagined something else. The foundation is messy af.

I resubbed hoping to get the Kosas face oil, which I’ve never tried. I guessed what shade would work for me & put it in the Boxy foundation quiz. I’m also really happy with the Murad toner & Go-To wipes. I’m calling this box a win, even with the filler eye palette (which has lots of PET glitter in it).

I’ll admit to having a few private-labeled cosmetics from sub boxes that I enjoy, so in all fairness, I decided to give the Illuminati palette a try (not the shades with PET though). I noticed when I swatched the colors yesterday that they have a weird, slightly creamy consistency that made the swatches slightly water resistant when I splashed them with water to wash them off, but the swatches removed easily with soap. Today, I wore the light green, blue, & lavender colors to work. After 8 hours, they are almost completely faded and gone in a way that has never happened to me with any other eye shadow ever. If you like the color scheme of this palette, I’d recommend investing in the Nomad Cosmetics Harajuku palette, which has some very pretty pastels & some transformative shimmer shades.

What do you think of the lip enhancer and the lipstick? Worth trying? Or better to leave unopened for a gift? They would both be new products and brands for me so I’m tempted to open but idk…

I remember back in the day a lot of the MSA forum people liked the Jouer lip enhancer, & it was a hot commodity on the swap site. Personally, I have never tried it because it has a rose scent, & that is just not my thing.

Wow. No FOMO here. So glad I canceled after seeing the pathetic spoilers late last month. It’s sad how quickly premium has gone downhill.

I’m going to list what I hope I get according to what my profile says on Boxy. They never take those into consideration which is annoying. This is probably the worst premium box I have ever seen since it started.

The palettes they send now are cheap and basically useless except for beginners who don’t have much yet. And even that is a stretch because the palettes are still bad. That’s probably why we get them because the company could not sell their crumby palette and boxycharm bought them in bulk for cheap. We all probably have more cheap eyeliners than we know what to do with. Watch me get those though. The “lip enhancer” is a fancy term for overpriced lip gloss. Laura Geller is $4, enough said. Cheap filler, ugly color. Even after all these years, it still annoys me how some people get a $4, filler while others get an $18 product. If they are not going to take profiles into account, we should all get the same thing. I’ve been on the verge of canceling for a long time but fear of missing out has kept me on. Sometimes they have great boxes but this one is just meh, even if I get my ideal box. This stuff is not premium worthy. I understand that they buy companies leftovers, stuff that couldn’t sell, at bulk discount prices like what’s at marshalls/TJMaxx but they can definitely do better. With the economy and the pandemic, I doubt beauty products are selling well right now. The whole box feels like filler.

I read Megan’s Boxy Luxe review after this one and her write up and swatches on the HipDot palette swayed me to open mine and swatch it. I ended up being really impressed with them. I haven’t used it yet but I am going to now. I did find the pigments to be quality and the shades pretty.

This month’s palette in Premium has a lot of pretty shades. I’m more interested in seeing the quality of them now than I was.

I cancelled my base box for now after an underwhelming Luxe month experience but I have no plans to cancel my Premium soon. The skincare is too good, they are finally sending out the types of products I need regularly and the brands have become more interesting to me.

I feel like Boxy has listened over the last 4 years. How many of us wailed on and on for more brow products, more foundations and powders, more primers and toners and setting sprays and more skincare and less nail polish and less hair care and as little red lipstick as possible!!?? Lol.

I think it’s all hot or miss on makeup and always has been with Boxy since I initially subbed in June of 2016.

What is impressing me enough to cancel all my other beauty boxes and keeping premium is the skincare, both brands and product types. Boxy has tremendously stepped up their skincare to many quality, interesting to me brands and product. Finally, toners and setting sprays! Foundations and setting powders. Face oils and serums! Those are the things I go through the most and need regularly. I feel like I have enough of everything else piled up for a decade or more, especially my makeup. And I am impressed with their bonus member only sales. The $6 and $9 range of products has been very nice in my opinion.

In perspective over the 4 years, Boxy has shown growth that I personally like. The Premium box seems to be where it’s at for me the most and I am interested in seeing how well they do customizing my boxes the next couple of months.

You are right on the money. Other than the Kosas product I received, this box is cheap filler. I couldn’t agree more with regard to the cheap eyeshadow palettes we’ve been getting. The two I received last month in luxe and premium were both subpar. This months Iluminati Pallette looks like something you could by for 6.00 at a discount store. I also received the Laura Geller $4 lip crap. The color isn’t usable (no surprise)..Also received some exfoliating wipes (boo) and Mac eyelashes (big thumbs down). The thing that I enjoy and has kept me from canceling are the add on and pop up sales. I have gotten some great items. I really have no fomo about the boxes..I wish we had more control over what we received in the actual boxes. I’m thinking of dropping down to base box only.

I got the Mac 70s, which I will never use. I never like it when lashes are in the mix but I’ve been lucky until now. This is the first time I’ve received lashes. I’ve seen quite a few variations that don’t have any lashes, so hopefully you will get one of those.

Well… I got the stupid eyelashes today in my box and I’m screaming !!! I absolutely hate false eyelashes and personally do not like the way they look on anybody. This is got to be another loss leader type of product and why we continue to see these in subscription boxes. Other than one tattoo artist friend (who looks amazing in everything) I know absolutely no one else that uses false eyelashes. Maybe I can off load them on Ebay. I pray I don’t receive another set in base box because they are offering them to in a different brand.

I kind of agree. I cancelled back in June due to financial reasons. That has worked itself out and I was thinking of resubbing for October but now I think I’ll wait until November…although I think I could find 5 things I’d like to receive here. Brows, foundation, maybe the palette, the toner and either the blushes or the lipgloss.
