I sent this to my mother in-law last year. She LOVED it. First gift in 4 years she hasn’t hated. Expensive? Yes. Packaged beautifully? Yes. It’s roughly what you’d pay for a glass in a restaurant. She lives alone and likes to have a glass without opening a whole bottle. I’m toying with buying it again 🤷‍♀️

$10 a sip? Um… no thanks.

Seems like the theme of 2020 Advent Calendars is tiny sizes for exorbitant prices.

I’m with you, Nikki. I could buy 12 bottles of decent wine for that.

That price is ridiculous! I just bought a wine advent calendar at Costco for $100 that has 24 half bottles of wine!

Yeah, just saw the Costco one. It’s got 24 half bottles, or 12 full bottles, for $99ish. I’ve never understood the expense of this box when I can go to Trader Joe’s and get wine for under $15/bottle. Especially when I know wine pricing and tasting are a sham 👍🏽

At this price, the 1/2 bottles are $4 each.

I just went & got mine today…and a few beer advent calendars as well! We loved the beer calendars last year! I haven’t even been inside a Costco since Covid19 started & went today as soon as I read somewhere that they were available. The case design on the wine calendar at my store wasn’t very attractive but I’ve read that some stores have a more attractive calendar available.

Where are you located? Mine doesn’t have it yet.

My original post isn’t going through but I’m in Virginia & both the wine & beer calendars were available in my Costco today. Our Costco had the less attractive case design with raccoons & bears vs the prettier (imo) red & green boxes that I’ve seen pictures of.

Thanks for the referral to Costco! Will go check in their liquor store!
As for “…chocolate just doesn’t cut it!” Oh, never, never!

Haha, for that price I can buy an entire case. It’s a no for me

$10.75 for a small glass? This money buys six full-sized bottles of whatever you want.
