I’m interested in the advent calendars for possibly an unusual reason. I’m a crafter and mixed media artist and always on the lookout for pretty and practical ways to store my supplies.
I won’t be buying a calendar this year so would love to buy any empty ones that would otherwise be discarded. I’d cover shipping too, of course.
I have almost 1000 swaps on the swap site so I’m experienced and trustworthy.

I have the birchbox advent box from last year

FYI: FeelUnique offers a permanent 10% off whatever brand you choose as your “Brand for Life” in your account. The calendar (and their multi-branded curated boxes) fall under the brand “Powered by FeelUnique”. I selected this brand because the few times I’ve shopped at FeelUnique was only to get their calendars or curated boxes. As I was about to check out just now I noticed that this calendar was discounted 10% 🙂

Note: Whatever brand you choose sticks for 6 months. When I chose Powered by FeelUnique as my brand I received a message that I won’t be able to change it until next March.

Hi Luna!
The Glossybox advent calendar is on sale today so now I need to pick between these 3:
-Glossybox
-Look Fantastic
-Feel Unique
The pressing question is, which one did Luna buy!?
😊

Hi Liz!
Sorry I’m just now replying… I didn’t see your comment earlier 🙁
Well, I’m 2 for 3 on the calendars you listed, lol. I was fortunate enough to be gifted the LF calendar, and I bought the Feel Unique calendar. I saw partial spoilers for the U.S. Glossybox calendar, and so far I’m thinking of passing on it. Maybe once full spoilers come out I’ll change my mind. 🙂

ETA(2): I just got an email from FeelUnique that the Brand for Life feature is ending on 9/16 (figures, lol). So if you want that 10% off the calendar, it’s probably best to do it in the next couple of days. 🙂

Thank you Luna! I signed up and got the Brand for Life 10% discount. Not a huge discount, but I’ll happily take it. I’ve been looking online at dozens of Advent calendars the past few weeks, and kept coming back to this one, so I finally bought it today.

Luna

ETA(3): I just got an email from FeelUnique about their new rewards program… the Brand For Life discount is still in effect, but now you can choose two brands instead of one! So the feature should still be good on this calendar. 🙂

Luna

ETA: You’ll see the discount once you click Continue to Checkout 🙂

Just got mine. I missed out last year. I already received my Look Fantastic one. I don’t know how I’m going to wait until December to open it. I hear it calling to me and It stares at me every time I go into the closet

Luna you are the connect – how in the world do you always get the info before me?!

Anyway, I’m looking forward to this time of the year and chatting with you, cheers to 2020 calendar season!

Lol! Well, I remembered that Feel Unique does advent calendars, so for the past couple of weeks whenever I’ve received an email from them that would trigger me to look to see if their calendar had come out yet. They’ve actually had a sign up list for a couple of weeks for it, but it looks like now it’s finally available. 🙂 I haven’t bought one in a couple of years, but this one actually doesn’t look so bad. I might get one. 🙂

Their calendar always reminds me a bit of ASOS calendars, and those are out now too! 🙂

Hi Liz! The ones that typically grab my attention first are the multi-brand calendars 🙂 I like the variety and surprise element to them. However, on occasion I will also get a brand’s calendar too! My favorite multi-brand calendars are the ones that usually include high-end to luxe brands like Lookfantastic, Skinstore, Beauty Expert, Liberty, Harrod’s, Net-a-Porter, & Space NK. I also really enjoyed Fortnum & Mason’s calendar, but it looks like they’re not shipping to the U.S. this year. 🙁 Cult Beauty’s calendar is up my alley too, but it’s kind of up in the air on whether they’ll ship to the U.S. this year (I’ve seen them say a few times on Instagram they will, but their site still says it’s not). Some other ones that I always keep my eye on is Macy’s, Alyaka, FeelUnique, Anthropologie, & QVC. Target’s calendar has been fun to get too. I’m sure I’m forgetting some, and I’ll list anymore if they come to mind. 🙂

Depending on who’s putting out the calendars they can have a similar feel to them since they tend to include some of the same brands, but in my experience while the brands may be the same, most times the products are different. I usually get most of the ones I listed above, and last year there were probably only two diiferent products that were duplicates between different boxes. Not bad!

I believe Glossybox, Lookfantastic, Beauty Expert, & Skinstore are all under The Hut Group, but to me they all have a bit of a different feel to them. Well, Skinstore & Beauty Expert have a similar feel to them, but BE is typically a 12-day calendar while Skinstore is a 25-day calendar (note: Skinstore didn’t do a calendar last year, so they may not do one again this year).

Mr. Porter and Mankind put out really great advent calendars too! I usually give those as gifts, but dang do I want to keep a lot of what they include, lol! Mankind is also under The Hut Group and they do a 25-day calendar of all full size products, and it’s quite the struggle to hand it off when I gift it, lol. We (maybe just me? 😉 ) need a 25-day all full size advent calendar, I say!

I hope you find a calendar you like! 😀

Liz

Hi Luna!
I’m new to advent calendars (never knew they existed lol) and was wondering which ones are your faves? This one looks good and was also interested in Glossybox and Look Fantastic. They all seem pretty similar to me. I think it’s all the same parent company?
I live in the US so I’d have to go with one that isn’t UK shipping only.
TIA!

Luna

Hi MSA! Thanks for pointing that out! It appears like ASOS’s UK calendar has the gone the way of Fortnum & Mason and (possibly?) Cult Beauty and won’t ship to the U.S. this year 🙁 In prior years, usually only their U.K. site would have the calendars (iirc) but they did ship to the U.S. because I remember getting both the women’s & men’s for a year or two. 🙂

MSA

Hey ladies!

Saw you mention the ASOS calendars and just wanted to check in. We’re only seeing the calendars on the UK site that don’t deliver to the US. Please let us know if you are seeing something else! Thanks!

Abby

Hey! I did see the ASOS calendar out as well.

I usually don’t go for the make-up based calendars because I have dark skin and I feel like the products available never cater to my skin, it would be a waste for me, so I usually stick with the body and lifestyle calendars.

Last year it was Rituals, Williams & Sonoma Peppermint Bark Calendar and Diptyque. It would be nice to have more calendars in that vein.

Alice

Loved mine last year.
