Just received my Mega box. Overall, not worth the money as there’s a lot I have no use for, but better than a couple versions I’ve seen online.

Viski cocktail tumblers (2)
Glammer car escape hammer (hot pink, yikes)
Daisy growing kit
Grace & Stella foot files
Hand sanitizer in a glass pump bottle
Double-ended colored pencils
Bamboo coasters
Broo shampoo
Nanacoco brown eyeliner pencil with lash comb
Willa tinted cream
Laugh Out Loud liquid lip in an ugly pink
We Are Wild SPF Solid Block
Name That Word mini game
Mai Couture blush sheets in glowing peach
Zabana Essentials blemish-drying lotion
J’Amie rose rollerball
Mini microwaveable Amish corn snack

Just received mine – whatever was the most expensive. It’s utter and complete garbage. It’s soaked in essential oil and 95% face and body products from brands I’ve never heard of! No packaging materials were used so even if for some reason you wanted to use something that looks like a handful of purple mini heart shaped wax melts on your FACE as an exfoliator – well they had a super rough trip. I also got a single tea light holder that based on the pattern discrepancies and texture is a factory reject. I am beyond irritated and will never buy from the company again. Total waste of money and terrible customer service on top of it all.

Sorry about your box—that was my experience as well, which is disappointing, because overall I have been pleased with their mystery boxes in the past. Be careful using those exfoliating purple mini hearts. I received those in green (mint & lime I think) and it burned my face and eyes. The container was so beat up and unsealed, that I didn’t want to put it up for swaps. I don’t know why I trusted using them on myself, but that was a bad call. They quickly ended up in the trash.

Is anyone else still waiting for shipping? I got an email that it finally shipped about a week ago… but it still just says “label created” (I also never got any e-mails or communications regarding the multiple delays in shipping). I’m really disappointed in this and it’s not making a good impression of the company…

Hello Melissa-I have the exact same thing happening. I got an email that my order shipped on 10/21 but it hasn’t moved since then. Same thing as you-just the label had printed. I emailed them yesterday but haven’t heard back. Frustrating.

Mine is supposed to arrive on October 30 after they made a label on the 21st. You should email them and complain. I’ve complained about shipping the last two mystery boxes and my boxes seem to move the day or next day I message them. Could be a coincidence though. I really liked my last box, but the reviews on this one don’t look good. Hope I’m still pleased after a month and a half of waiting.

I received my deluxe mystery box yesterday and it was….not good. This is the fourth, last (and worst) mystery box I’ve ordered and definitely the most disappointing. My box contained (loosely from best to worst):

Mandarin and peppermint essential oil
Box floral notecards
2-small charcoal purifying bags
CBD solid block SPF 35 balm stick
Bon bon lime & mint facial exfoliating polish beads
Detox tea No. 4 package
Shea sock foot treatment/mask (1 package)
Shiralea card case
Cougar 3 shades of nude mini eyeshadow trio
Nanacoco magenta lip gloss
Nanacoco brown eye pencil w/eyebrow brush

That’s it folks. I ordered on the first day these boxes were available. Most, if not all of these items do not seem to have come from prior Bombay & Cedar boxes. The detox tea, oils and mini charcoal purifying bags are the only things I recognize from earlier boxes.

A little bit of follow-up to my initial post: tossed the unsealed nanacoco eyeliner ($2) and unsealed lip gloss ($3) in the trash. I tried the (also unsealed and in scratched, beat up jar with no box) facial polishing beads. As you may guess, that was a bad choice. My eyes! My eyes! My not-particularly sensitive skin and eyes were burning even though I avoided using the exfoliant near my eyes. The initial advertising for this box stated that the items would be from prior B & C boxes. I don’t recall any of these things—especially not the cheap drug store cosmetics— except the oils and maybe charcoal purifying bags being in any B & C boxes.

Ordered and was immediately charged on 9/18. Received an “apology for the delay” note that boxes are shipping “now through next week” on 10/8. Then a notice that the box was shipped 10/14, with a tracking number attached.
When I followed up on 10/22 because there was no movement, I was told by CS that my box was “in the batch that is being shipped today”. 2 days later the tracking number still says “Ready to go”.
From reading others’ feedback, that seems to be a common thread … I don’t think it is reasonable to wait for an order for what will amount to 6 weeks +.
Curious to read what others received in their boxes to see if it’s at least well worth the wait, but I guess it’s my lesson learned and I don’t think I’ll consider them in the future.

So I just watched an unboxing of a Mega box on YouTube. There were 18 items in her box. A good mix of lifestyle and beauty stuff. Values range from $3 to $30 based on my internet search. Yes, I searched for all the items. I came up with a total value of $240 which I believe is generous as I went off of retail though I found several items cheaper. It’s a good box but is not worth $250 plus as they indicated. However, her box was her box and who knows what will be in mine. Someday, I hope to find out. I got the email saying my box shipped at 1am on 10/15 and it’s still sitting somewhere with a label on it having not been rec’d by UPS as yet.

Mine was the same with shipping label, but it departed yesterday and scheduled for delivery tomorrow! I got the mega and can’t wait to see what is inside.

Received my mega and beyond a total waste of money majority was beauty only 3 not beauty and only keeping one. I never subbed until the last box and there were tons of stuff I would have loved, received none. Several beauty items have never even been listed on swap site before. Lesson learned for sure.

LJ

Mine has shown label created since the 14th. I’m getting very close to just asking for a refund. I find this practice of creating a label and calling it fulfilled questionable. I understand it a means to track inventory flows, but my box absolutely has not shipped yet.

Anyone receive a shipping notification yet?

Shipping got pushed back to now thru 10/20.

Got mine this morning!!!! Finally. Got my notice for my October box on 10/10. That one should be here any day. But I’m really excited about the mystery box.. was hoping someone here had gotten theirs so I could see what they got! This is my 1st mystery box. I ordered the big one and got $10 off by using my points and so I feel like I’m getting a DEAL!! LoL!!

Katie

Please post what was in your Box! Haven’t heard from them at all.

shel

I got my notice as well. Hoping for some good swag!

Taylor

This is the exact reason I came back to this post! I ordered & paid on the 21st of last month & have not heard anything since then. Also was not given any way to track of the box.. /:

Shel

Yup. I ordered on 9/18 and I’m still showing unfulfilled. They have 2 more days.

Frances

Exact same reason I came back to the post too! I ordered on 9/21 and haven’t heard a peep from them since. Mine still says unfulfilled on the web site. I will update if that changes!

Shel

Shipping was supposed to start on 10/1-10/10 but that got pushed back to 10/5 / – 10/15. You should have a link to check it in your confirmation email. Mine shows still processing. =(

Mag

So disappointed with Bombay & Cedar. Purchased in June 2020 and to date, they still haven’t shipped it out, despite making so many promises since July. Had wanted to get a box to see if I’d like to actually get a subscription, but it looks like I’m not even going to consider getting a subscription.

I ordered a mystery box the last time around and was SO disappointed. I hoped, and thought it was household items. I got mostly skincare items which I do not use. Also got make up (don’t need either), shampoo & conditioner (pretty good), a cheap necklace I’ll never wear, and some other random stuff (a journal). I won’t order another one.

Frances

FYI Mega and Petite are sold out :(. I hope that the Deluxe is good!

I bought two of these on Friday to use up points. Again, MSA is days behind.

I would have ordered if I hadn’t subscribed to their seasonal box. Can’t wait to see whats in mine!

I ordered the large mystery box last time, and while it took a grip to arrive, I was absolutely dazzled by the contents: shampoo and conditioner (which were immediately used and smelled amazing), a journal with an attached pouch for pencils and a magnetic closure (I’m an illustrator, this was my favorite item), a beautiful necklace with a lunar theme, a wooden diffuser shaped like a fern, a few skincare items that seem high quality… I either have used or will use everything in the box. Based on how satisfied I was with the first mystery box, I splurged on the mega box this time around. Totally worth the wait!

Sarah

I ordered $60 one back in the spring, and it was awful. Mostly serums and skincare. A few dusty looking cord management clips, bamboo disposable face wipes… really disappointing. The bulk of the value came from the serums. The one thing I liked was a small notebook that was cute, but they’d valued that at $45 (what?!). I definitely would not buy one again.

WendyM

…that’s the other thing- I compared the items they sent to me with the past box items for the couple years and about 1/3 of my items hadn’t even been in past boxes. It made me think they were rejects.

Reply ButtonReply

Sarah

Yes!! And what I couldn’t find, I was able to find listed on clearance on the vendor’s websites. I haven’t subscribed before, and their boxes usually look great, so I was hoping for a much better selection. Lesson learned!

WendyM

Last time I bought the $65 Mystery box and it was good. Some things were not sealed & that skeeved me out a bit. The products were fairly high quality and things I had not tried before (I’m not a subscriber). 6/10.

I’ve never ordered from Bombay & Cedar but looking at the past boxes, hopefully this will fill out my Christmas list nicely. My family loves essential oils n hope to get some of the other lifestyle goodies. Overloaded with skin/beauty stuff but great donation items to woman’s shelters at Christmas.

My label was created on 10/21 and it’s still sitting there, probably still being filled intermittently with whatever they can find on the closet floor under all the old decomposing shipping boxes and dust. I saw another person’s “reveal” on Redd it and her box was just awful. I’m dreading receiving this box and having to toss most of it in the bin. I emailed B&C and asked if I could cancel my order. We’ll see.

Small one has been sold out since Friday, debating the medium but I’ll probably skip since by the time the deal was on reddit they were sold out of small

Ordered the mega on Friday. I’ve never subscribed so I’m curious to see what I’ll get.

Boxtopus!

I ordered the Mega as well! I’m a sucker for mystery boxes.
