Love advent calendars. Not into the makeup skincare ones at all but looking forward to many reviews. And I agree, it’s never too early to shop for holiday presents!

“It’s never too early…”
Agreed! I made a Google search in May, just in case anybody was super-early, lol.

I personally find it a little ridiculous given what’s going on right now. People are really suffering, having lost their jobs and even their homes. I used to enjoy dreaming about being able to afford some of these high-end brands , but now I just find these advent calendar money grabs tedious and actually somewhat in poor taste.

Then don’t buy it?! How is a company , looking to turn a profit and stay in business a money grab or in poor taste?? I *personally* think its too early in the year to see xmas anything only because I don’t want to see any holiday stuff til after Halloween, but I understand they have to start prepping NOW due to shipping taking longer, international shipping/customs, earlier holiday shopping, etc. Not everyone is financially suffering, has lost their jobs and houses so that blanket statement is not only untrue, its a bit narcissistic to imply. Its extremely unfortunate that it has happened to anyone but at the end of the day they are still a business trying to stay in business. If someone can’t afford something, they have no business buying it, period.

I agree with you Stef on both accounts – seeing Xmas stuff this early and that a business operating its legal business functions and of course having a profit (otherwise they wouldn’t be open) is in no way a money grab or in poor taste. I don’t understand how making a profit as a business (I’m a small business owner and this is essential to keeping my doors open) is synonymous with greed, particularly if it’s a luxury offering like this one? It *might* be a different story say if a business was choosing to substantially mark up pricing on an essential or life-saving product unexpectedly, especially if no other alternatives exist, but at the end of the day that’s something they can choose to do for any reason and at any time, so long as they aren’t breaking the law. If anything is deemed a money grab or in poor taste, the most powerful demonstration of that is purchasing power – simply don’t support them, but why knock a business trying to stay open? Everyone is entitled to have and voice their opinion of course, just don’t understand the logic.

Since I got into subscription boxes for the first time this year, I’m actually shopping for Christmas much earlier this year. (A couple of people are already done thanks to Fab Fit Fun and to rebuying some things I loved from Causbox as gifts for friends.) I feel like it’s better than shopping for myself or having a big bill in December, but since Christmas is 4 months away, I keep thinking about shopping for right now in April and how much has changed since then!
I really wanted this advent calendar last year but just can’t justify spending so much on myself right now. Some day I’ll get back to Liberty at Christmas time, I hope!

There’s a new Yankee candle subscription called Fragrance flight, it includes 3 small tumblers and it’s thirty dollars and ships about every 3 mos.

I’ve been looking at new boxes and there’s also pump mom box, Kong dog box and a few others I’ve not seen here. Inland Northwest Trading has a box it’s free to ship to Spokane but has options for those not local.

There’s also the AIA beauty box, The Skin Clique beauty knocks box which is an awesome box that includes clinical formulas.

Beauty Knocks info
medical grade skincare boxes come in 4 different types – Essentials, Breakout (to help with acne), Beauty Knocks (to help with signs of aging) and Bump (for pregnant and nursing mothers).

That should say Pup mom box

Almost a quarter of the value coming from the way overpriced and meh QMS lip line product, gives me pause. Many of the “full size” items also seem less than generous, 1 set of eye patches, 9ml of bath oil, etc. The Votary looks great, a few other nice things. Hard choice on this one for me, looking forward to seeing what the last full size items will be.

where do you see eye patches listed? All i see is a sleep mask from spacemasks, it’s listed as single eye mask but it’s one of those things to cover your eyes when you sleep.

Renee'

Sorry, yes it’s a single use disposable sleeping mask not a patch, RV of $3.

I have eyeballed this calendar for years now. Has anyone else ever gotten it before and can attest to the products / value?

I so want this!! What have people thought about previous collections?

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

I ordered this one last year and thought it was great. I’ll probably get it this year too.

Vicki

These can’t be shipped to the US, right?

Hallie Gottlieb

Make sure and join their loyalty programme first! Sometimes you get little bonuses with purchase

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

They do ship to the US, last year they shipped DHL international and it came in a few days.

Vicki

Thank you! I didn’t read the description carefully, sorry! I only recall trying to order from the site before and either it was super expensive for international shipping, or it wasn’t available- I don’t recall. But this looks amazing, so I think I’ll order when it comes out!

Lily

maybe its just me … yet i don’t like to see christmas items advertised or in stores till at least after Halloween. To see it advertised earlier ruins the fun of the seasons and the holidays a bit.

It’s only August and summer not even fall and I m already seeing a few Christmas items in stores.

Lana

I totally agree with you in general, but I get why they did this for this one particular item. The high demand and international shipping needs do call for prep. It does take away from the excitement for me personally when the time to actually get it rolls around. Wonder how the sales will be this year. Maybe more people will want a “treat” since we can’t really do much, or maybe people will want to save their money since times are hard. I wanted one of these so bad the first year they came out, but they wouldn’t ship to USA, now I don’t really want one; every year it’s less and less interesting

I so agree. It is too early

I’m the same. As soon as I saw it I thought, “No, just no”. With everything in flux right now I can barely think about September.

I think it’s because of the logistics of trying to be sure advents are shipping on time. Last year my Liberty advent arrived mid November. It was nice to have it put away vs Beauty Expert that didn’t ship until end of December. We should be seeing info for Cult Beauty and other advents this week.

There’s a Funko Halloween advent for presale on Amazon too. I love Halloween and wish there were more themed boxes for it.
