  1. I agree – I am also disappointed that there is not a plus-sized option. You would think that would be standard by now!

I just joined, so I’ll be around a bit. I’m hoping they hear this feedback, though.

  2. Just cancelled and sent this letter to customer service. I don’t know how much it will do, but I had to try.

    Hello,

I’m writing this to you because I just cancelled my membership and wanted to explain why. I have been ecstatic with boxes since I joined. In my interaction with customer service for the issue I had, it was so good that I was planning to upgrade membership to annual this fall. However, after seeing spoilers I had to cancel.

I cancelled because of your robe/towel spoiler. What a great, gorgeous item! I was so excited to see it! That is until I realized that it wasn’t even remotely size inclusive. As a plus sized woman, I get discriminated against on a regular basis. While it’s not as prevalent as the systemic racism in this country, it IS the last form of discrimination that is socially acceptable. For a company that promotes female empowerment, equality, and diversity I was devastated to see you exclude an entire group of subscribers. Even the towels at their size are too small for a plus size woman.

I would have loved to stay with your company and enjoyed the other incredible items in the box, but I feel like if we don’t start speaking up, nothing will ever change.

Please, consider being size inclusive in the future.

    Sincerely,

  3. The big ticket item in the box seems to be the robe or towels choice. How disappointing that while Causebox claims to be all about inclusivity and diversity, they can’t extend that to their customers who are not thin. Do they think plus sized women don’t want a robe, too? Do they think plus sized women don’t want a towel that wraps around them, too? I’m sorry, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that this highest value item in the box will simply not work for many of their customers. Neither choice in this category works for plus sized women. Would they put a foundation as their box choice and only offer it in shade fair, making it completely unusable for women of color? No, I don’t think so. Would they make a choice in the box a pick between getting either a dreidel or a menorah, making it not really a workable choice for people who aren’t Jewish? No, I don’t think so. Would they make their big ticket box item a pair of T-shirts, one saying “My husband” and the other saying “My wife,” thereby making them unusable to gay couples? No. I don’t think so. But somehow in this world, discriminating against fat people is somehow the one thing that is still OK. One would think at least one employee at Causebox would have said hey wait a minute, maybe we should offer a plus sized option in the robes? Or at least make the towels 65 inches so they would work on a lot more people? I’m sorry, but I’m really tired of being expected to keep my mouth shut when over and over and over again these subscription boxes routinely think it’s OK to engage in size discrimination. It’s really not so hard to say to the companies they do business with that they need them to make them in two sizes. That would have been so much more important than offering different color choices.

    • I’m standing and applauding you right now. I guess the best way to speak up is to do it with my money. As much as I’m enjoying spoiler #3, I’m cancelling and leaving feedback. Maybe someone will listen.

    • The robe is not the only option. Every item is not for everyone and that is why you get to choose. I could be offended that they include a face wash for oily skin and say they are discriminating against older people, or think it’s not fair to individuals living in year round warm weather locations that they include winter mittens, hats or scarves, or be angry they include a passport holder discriminating against people without the financial means to travel abroad. I’m a petite person and all the wraps style items are too large for me but I never see it as a fault because I always have a choice to pick another selection. It is so nice that Causebox gives you options because we are all different and have different needs and interests. Hopefully you will see that and not be unfair to yourself and cut yourself out of the fun; just choose a different item.

      • Rio, while I understand what you are saying, the point here is that neither choice is a good choice for a bigger person. As Janica pointed out above, both the robe and towels are too small (the towel is too short to wrap around the person. Imagine trying to dry yourself with a towel that is for children). A more appropriate alternative would have been to a) have different sizes in robes/towels to make it accessible to everyone or b) having a choice of a different product where size doesn’t matter, such as a scarf, bath bombs…

      • Yes I am petite too and robes do not work for me either. So if they offer a plus size robe they need to offer a petite size too or they are discriminating against short people? You offer sunglasses but I wear prescription glasses so does that discriminate against people with vision problems? Trust me I understand your frustration Janica but it’s just part of the sub box world, I just end up swapping what box items don’t work for me or give them away.

  4. Check your emails for spoiler #3!

  5. Anyone know if they let you skip more than one box during an annual sub? I skipped spring already and emailed them to see if I can skip again.

  6. They released the 3rd spoiler. I can see a spa vibe

    • Where? What was it?

      • Tea infuser and a lantern, choice for annual members

      • As Kc wrote.
I received an email from causebox with the spoilers (the Portable glass tea infuser and the lantern)

    • Where?

    • Oh thanks! I didn’t see the lantern at first and was not jazzed about the tea infuser (keep getting these in subscriptions lately). The lantern is super cute though. Between that and the towels, I may very well end up pulling the annual trigger….finally lol.

  7. When do we have to cancel by? I have no interest in a robe that won’t fit a plus size 3. I am sad because I really like this but can’t justify this purchase when I can’t use the items.

  8. I bought FIVE different summer boxes. I cancelled all but the annual subscription. I am not loving the towel and robe so I cancelled four.

  9. Just signed up as annual. After receiving the summer welcome box how could I not. Loved everything in it. Sure I didn’t like the first fall spoiler however your not going to like everything in a sub box. For these items I don’t like either sell them or gift them.

    • If you email them, they will let you skip this box and it will just extend your sub another season.

  10. Also-Does Causebox post anywhere when billing, customization, and market place open?

    • Yes, on their website in faqs tab.

      • Thanks!

  11. I absolutely love the robe. Where I live, this weight is completely appropriate for Fall and even as an additional layer when/if it really starts to cool down. And it’s a natural fiber!!!

FFF has offered two different robes in recent boxes, but I am not into putting polyester (or whatever synthetic material they were made of) on my body when I’m hot out of the shower. I think both colors are gorgeous. I may have to upgrade to an annual this season to pick.

Having said how much I love the idea of the robe I will also say that it is a total fail that they aren’t offering a plus size option. This would have been an amazing time for them to up the wow factor on this subscription a lot by offering at least one option that all subscribers can customize and offering more inclusive sizing. The robe will fit me, but a few months ago it wouldn’t have, and it would have been so disappointing to receive an item I really wanted, but couldn’t use due to sizing.

  12. On Insta it says the towels are a mere 55 inches and the robe looks almost tight on a size 14 body. And they’ll still shrink 🙁

So there is zero option that even comes close to working for my size 22 self

I wish they had thought to be inclusive, I was so excited for Fall I bought it before this spoiler not thinking they would include something one-size.

    • I feel exactly the same, Amy. After the awesome Summer Welcome and the intro box I got, I was super excited for fall, but AGAIN, another sub not giving a rat’s behind about being size inclusive and unless I go annual I don’t even get to make a choice. I may just cancel.

      • Yeah I cancelled. I’m over giving my money to companies that apprently don’t want plus size people’s money, or else they’d provide accurate sizing.

  13. I know I seem to be in the minority here, and I agree that perhaps these items may have been meant for summer but I personally am excited for both! I have been wanting a lighter robe as the ones I have are all much warmer and I can’t wear them while getting ready at or I would sweat to death! Lol The ones on their website are definitely more my style as I love vibrant colours but I do think the mint green is lovely.

At first I was torn about the seeds vs cotton rounds because I have been itching to start an herb garden and honestly have had a set of those reusable rounds saved in my amazon favs for a while, I just hadn’t gotten around to ordering them so this one was a pleasant surprise! I do already have a little basil plant I bought at the grocery store that is doing well for now so I think it will be the rounds for me.
Looking forward to seeing the next spoilers – these sub boxes bring me such joy during some dark days. Much love!

  14. I love everything in the spoiler! I honestly can’t decide which to get, and since I am a seasonal subscriber and don’t want to pay $199 outright, I’d gladly let CB/fate take over and choose for me to save me from making a decision. Lol.

  15. CauseBox is such a hit or miss subscription, and this box is a miss. The first two spoilers were low in value. This robe isn’t suitable for cooler Fall weather, and it isn’t available/offered in a plus size. At this rate, I’ll never become an annual subscriber.

    • Something to note (that I learned from these comments a few months ago) is that as an annual you can skip a month. Unlike FFF, they just let you full on skip without charging you a credit – they just extend it by a season. I’m fully committed to CB now – that is respect for the consumer.

  16. I love the idea behind CB, but the Fall box is a hard pass for me… I am not a fan of Waffle knit for towels as I don’t find the fabric very absorbent and I prefer a cozy robe… the herbs are a low value item – hopefully winter will be better!

  17. What’s the sizing for plus size ladies re: the robe

    • Not good! I asked about dimensions on Instagram, and got this response “the waffle robe is custom for causebox in one size to accommodate our diverse community. It has a 42” length, 50” seam to seam waist, and 21” drop sleeves”
That’s confusing language for clothing, but I assume that 50” means the full sweep of the robe is close to 50”, since robes don’t usually grade out much from waist to hip. Which means an upper limit of around 44” hips, since robes need a fairly deep lap to close.
Which means their idea of “diverse community” caps out at around US 14. I don’t know why I am surprised, since they practically dislocated their metaphorical shoulder patting themselves on the back for their “inclusive” box art this season which features exclusively slim bodies. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the box art, but it’s telling that no one (artist or company) thought to include any size diversity in a celebration of the many different ways women have bodies.

      • Well said. After a great experience over the summer (shipping notwithstanding) I was looking forward to the fall spoilers and considering committing for annual. I’m glad I waited for spoilers because I think I’ll be cancelling. I don’t understand how sub-boxes completely exclude a huge portion of their membership base by not being size inclusive. It’s such a shame.

  18. Causebox is my favorite box. I always love it without exception

    • Same!

      • Agreed! The quality of the items are always better than what I used to get in other boxes. When there’s been items that I didn’t think I would get much use of, I have been able to sell them for reasonable prices as well.

Personally, I’m loving these spoilers so far.
