I’m not mad at my box this month! Just hoping it doesn’t take forever to get to me! I got the:

Duft and Doft eye cream
ILMakiage shadow in news flash
Nature’s Cartel Static lip gloss
Tarte Sea surfer curl mascara (I almost got this in the $63, 7 piece kit from them, good thing I didn’t!)
Ahava essential day moisturizer *my pick

Add-ons
Purlisse illuminating BB cream in light medium
BDB best sellers kit *I’ve never tried this
Dominique cosmetics rustic glam palette *so excited for this!!!

I just rejoined Ipsy after a year long hiatus.
My bag –
Purlisse in light medium. I am tempted to add on a medium as well)
Biorace Pore Tightening Clay mask
Seraphine botanicals natural radiance booster in Daisy + pearl
Aruil Hand cream
and Pixi Lip lift in Sheer rose

Added – Manna Kadar Blush
Lavido Cleanser ( I have the Moisturizer and I love it)
kate Somerville 2 in 1

I am not upset about the bag at all…

I’m surprised that no one mentioned that the Rustic Glam palette was $22 in Ipsy Deals about a week and a half ago. Kinda salty that I paid $4 more for it than today’s price. Not cool Ipsy, not cool.

Oja

I was really hoping for the eyeshadow in Jackpot but was not willing to pay $18 for it in a set since I wasn’t at all interested in the other color. If they’d had it by itself for $12 I probably would have bought it. Oh well, maybe I’ll be able to swap for one.

It’s been a rough few months for me since I got COVID-19 mid-April. My bags have been on auto-pilot. I’ve missed choice and add-ons every month until July. Surprisingly, my bags didn’t suck that much at all.

This past month, I only chose in one GB tho, since I missed on the Luna oil for my GBP. (I have two GB in two separate accounts and GBP too).

I’m surprised that I’ve never got a dupe bag between the two accounts too, even tho my prefs are pretty close to the same.

So, having missed out for so long, I got a few things this time:
3 x Luna oil
2 x Milk masks
1 x slmissglam brush
2 x Hemptz lotion

I’m sad I missed the soroci eye cream; it’s the only thing that was sold out that I wanted.

I’m disappointed more of the once $12 add-ons are now $18. Originally, the $18 tier was for stuff that was retail $80-100.

I hope you’re well on your way to recovery. I’m glad you treated yourself to a few nice things. Take care, Mari.

Thanks día! I had 3 months of glam bags to open when I was ready!

I just treated myself to a $300 pair of Fluevogs as my survival gift to myself. 😉

Does anybody want to swap an E41 brush or even the entire brush set for a Tarte double take eyeliner or an after sun spray from my FFF box? Please email nnysfillerbunny @ gmail if you’re interested. I really want the brush but I dont want to pay $25 for the set and I won’t use the after sun spray.

Really, I have every other brush type listed, I’m just missing a large powder brush from my tools. Will I be mad at having extra? No, but I also can’t justify lying $25 for just one brush.

@GMforever The site won’t let me respond to your post but thank you for the helpful tip. I will look into this. It would be a shame if there is someone out here who could use these who didn’t get a chance to try them. <3

Reply ButtonReply

GMforever

Yes, please try it. I need to warn you though: it could get so easy that it will get addicted to subscribe to many boxes. 🙂

Suzy

Not for an eyeliner which everyone has dozens of or a old sun spray. It would need to be a better trade for anyone to consider.

Reply ButtonReply

GMforever

Don’t trash your unused beauty products. There’s always people who want them. You can list them for sale on various sites, super easy and everything sells out as long as you list for a fair price. Get the money to pay for the items you want.
Same thing with buying BTW, for some items, it’s better to buy them off Mercari or Ebay, way cheaper than Ipsy directly. Many members are just like us, they receive things they don’t want but others do, so they list them for cheap, why not buying from them, it’s like a swap with less headache IMO.

Morgan

I just received the after sun spray in my summer FFF box but I see less sunlight than a vampire. And I know everybody gets black eyeliners, I just thought maybe someone would want one that’s double ended. That and I mean… it’s a single Morphe brush so it’s not like it’s a gold bullion. But yes, your point has been heard. I gave in and bought it before coming back and checking for responses.

The after sun spray may end up in the trash because it’s just taking up shelf space (I’m African American and will have a difficult time burning to justify keeping the product) and I am probably going to give the eyeliner to a cousin who is a makeup novice.

Kate

I added both sets of sheet masks and the Tula SPF. The Luna oil was available, but luckily I read the ingredients beforehand – that blue color is from dye not the blue tansy oil in it. Why????
Also my main bag aside from the brow pencil I chose is pretty off. I have my profile set heavily towards skincare (aside from brows products) and avoiding cleansers, but I got an eyeshadow with a brush and a cleanser. Last month my bag was 5/5 perfect, but this month it’s a bit of a waste. I hope the brow pencil isn’t super tiny.

Lila Williams

My biggest complaint! When they send you EVERYTHING from you cold day in hell… I mean RARELY list.

Reply ButtonReply

Marion

I added the Pixi eye pencil duo (what a steal!) the Dr Botanicals cocoa + coconut mask, & the Kate Somerville moisturizer.

I’m guessing the Anastasia x Jackie Aina palette is what the owner of Ipsy meant when he gave that interview that brands who’d never been willing to work with ipsy before had inventory they needed to offload due to Covid. I personally think it’s a bummer that it’s only in add-ons & not in the bags (though if ABH is worried about having their brand associated with ipsy I guess it could have been part of the contract).

Reply ButtonReply

Shawna

Added on Luna Oil to my regular bag and then later to my plus bag (shocked they still had it in stock by then), plus a sample of WrinkleWarrior.

Reply ButtonReply

mari

Luna was still in stock at 4pm EST when I did my add-ons.

Reply ButtonReply

GMforever

How I wish I knew it would be available as add ons, I would have selected something else for my Plus bag, that way I could have had the option to buy more in add ons!

Reply ButtonReply

Julie B

I had a weak moment and added on the Anastasia palette! The shades look pretty and I reasoned it’s a great deal with the lippie included

Reply ButtonReply

Marion

I’ve only heard good things about it… which is not true of all ABH palettes, lol.

Reply ButtonReply

Lila Williams

Every product in my July bag, (with the exception of the 1 choice product) was on my cold day in hell, um, err.. “rarely” list. You’d think they could manage to put in just 1 from my “sometimes” or my “often”.

I think Ipsy sends all the products from my “rarely” list so that I’ll pay over $18 or $12 for the stuff I really want as an add on. Anyone else have this experience? This is my second month with everything from my “rarely” list.

The spoilers had me salivating. My GBP does not.

I’ve had Ipsy on and off for like 5 years and they’ve always been good at sending my preferences…but recently since I switched to plus about 5 months ago,my boxes are almost completely missing the mark. I want more skin, hair and body care items. I never get any of the skincare (or my other preferences for that matter)as an option for choice. I make sure and review all my bags to hopefully help…but nothing does. I just don’t understand why they are ignoring my profile. I cancelled boxy because of that and switched from the reg glam bag to the plus. I’ve always been really happy with Ipsy until these last 5 boxes. I don’t know what’s going on with them. I really hope they get it back together soon.

Reply ButtonReply

Lila Williams

I feel for you, as I am in the same boat! I really believe that Ipsy with holds the stuff we really want on purpose so that we will pay 12 or $18 to buy it as an add-on. Because of the profile we fell out, they know exactly what we really want and exactly what we don’t. So if they show us spoiler items to die for, and then withhold them from us we will spend more money in order to get them in our bag. This is my opinion as to what is happening.

My Glam Bag plus boxes have also been completely off the mark for the past few months.

My only hope is the new announcement that’s coming out on 7:20. It’s for Glam Bag plus and apparently they’re going to make Choice better. Supposedly. We can always hope. If it weren’t for that I’d cancel and write them a very bitter letter. I’m tired of getting bags that have everything for my rarely list.

Nicole

Yep, I experience that often. I’m stubborn though, when they do that to me I usually don’t add on and I just hope to pick it up in a swap. The exception being if it’s a product I already use and love, then I’ll add it because I don’t want to buy it for more at the store. 💁

I added the Anastasia bundle for $25 🤦🏼‍♀️ I have fair skin, but I don’t care I’ll dabble in just about any shade and I’ve never tried any of the shadows. I have the lippie in a different shade and it was just okay so kind of bummed that I had to pay $25 to get the palette since the liquid lip isn’t as exciting.

Reply ButtonReply

Shaylee

I fell into the hype and added on the Luna oil and the purlisse BB. Ipsy has been nailing my bags since I joined the past 2 months. The customization has gotten so much better since a few years ago.
My bag:
Lavido cleanser
SL miss glam eye blender brush
The balm blush worth the wait
Rose sheet mask and Shea butter sheet mask
Kokie shadow in Polaris (my choice)

Reply ButtonReply

Makeup86

My bag is ok, but there isn’t anything in the add ons that I want. I would have possibly jumped at any other Anastasia palette but the colors in that one are too dark for the looks I go for. And a couple other ones are on clearance on the Anastasia website for $27 with free shipping. I’ll probably waffle on them until they’re sold out, lol.

Sherri

I was surprised to see the Goldfaden MD eye cream at $18. I nabbed it a couple of weeks ago as part of an offer bundle that included 2 other items and and a bag, all for $10.

Reply ButtonReply

dia

Ipsy has been inflating the cost of their add-ons. I got the Goldfaden eye cream as an add-on a few months ago for $12. A lot of the add-ons that used to be $12 are now $18. And now that they’ve added a $25 tier… add-ons are no longer fun trivial things; we’re talking about serious money. $25 is the cost of an entire GBP.

When I was a store manager for a large retailer, we would get the biggest kick out of how people spent their money…on anything and everything…just tobe spending! Another manager said, on a particularly frenzied holiday season Saturday, when we could barely keep product on shelves, ‘Msn, if you threw a green hot dog on the gloor, they would buy it!’. That’s stuck with me all my days lol.

Lila Williams

Greed. They are trying to see what the market will bear.

Dawn

Grabbed that Luna like everyone else. Got the goldfaden eye cream too. I was curious and the price was good. Grabbed the HEMPZ body cream I wanted but didn’t get in my bag. My bag was ok. Some stuff I wanted and a couple of meh.

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole

Good choice on the Goldfaden, it’s one of my favorites of the many eye creams I have tried.

Reply ButtonReply

Liz

I am in love with palettes so I snagged Jackie Aina’s palette and Rustic Glam by DC. I am flooded with palettes (and all manner of makeup) but apparently I can’t stop. Now someone please put my straight jacket back on.

Reply ButtonReply

Lila Williams

Look at it this way…make up addiction is better than one for alcohol or meth.

Reply ButtonReply

Angel

I cancelled ultimate after last month’s bag, skipped this month’s plus (will probably cancel it too), and I’m not impressed with anything that’s coming in my regular bag. The Luna oil as an add-on was the only exciting thing for me. (The ABH pallet is nice too, but I already have that one). Ipsy’s bags lately are terrible. The add-ons are the only thing keeping me in at this point. They should just let us build our own bag, or allow us to deselect current bag items during the add-on event and select other items.

Reply ButtonReply

Lila Williams

I can tell you from running a lingerie subscription service for 35 years now that It would be very difficult logistically. They have the products assigned to bags months in advance, and your profile will tell them which pre-set bag combo best matches your profile. Theoretically, that is. I have found ISPY match gives me everything from my RARELY. Don’t know why.

HOWEVER…did you notice that there is a change coming to IPSY choice? Says so in their banners. Even more interesting…there is no choice day for August’s bag! It should be July 24th. But there is no choice day coming at all! Instead, there is an “IPSY flash” on 7/23.

Reply ButtonReply

mari

There’s no choice for GBP, there is some change being announced on 7/20. There is choice for GB on 7/23.

dia

I see it says “choose a product” on July 23.

Julie B

Oh wow that would be perfect if Ipsy would let us deselect items and replace them with what we want, even if they let us do only one or two.

Reply ButtonReply

Lila Williams

1) You’re waiting for Godot.

2) They don’t care.

Every single item in my GBP had been on my RARELY list for 2 months now. I am convinced IPSY does this so I’ll pay $18 or $12 to add the items that I really wanted as an add-on.

Tammy

you have no idea the foul language I am using the absolute disgusting despicable and beneath contempt words I am screaming and ipsy right now because as usual I cannot get into the add-ons why am I giving I feel like I’m being discriminated upon I know it may sound unrealistic but it happens every single month I spend so much money and I feel so I feel really really really picked on…. Lol

Reply ButtonReply

mari

Do you have any billing issues? If they can’t charge your bag on the first try, then “making” your bag is delayed slightly and you won’t see add-ons right away, but usually will be able to get them later in the day, after all the good stuff is gone.

Reply ButtonReply

Lila Williams

Got can’t get into add-ons? Hate to ask, but tech people always do this to me: Have you tried a different browser?

Reply ButtonReply

Nikkim

Even though I get the small regular Ipsy bag, I told myself I won’t buy too much and try to use up what I already have. And surprisingly did not purchase any extras. That Makeup Geek brush looks beautiful though. That’s the first time I ever thought of purchasing a brush LOL

Reply ButtonReply

Rose

Yay! I managed to grab a Luna oil. I’ve been wanting to try this for ages, and I haven’t seem to ever received it in any subscription.

Reply ButtonReply

Lori

Wow, those Pixi eyeliners sold out while I was checking out. Bummer, but yay for non black eyeliners! Maybe they’ll get the hint and we’ll see more of them.
I got:

–ABH Jackie Aina palette (thought this would go quick)
–Ciate Watermelon lip oil (finally! missed all the other times)
–IT Cosmetics Brow Power
–Beauty For Real lip creme (because what a fun color for summer!)

Reply ButtonReply

Kandi

I debated the Luna but was actually afraid if I really like it I would be committing to spending $100 Later…lol…I use the ordinary or Inkey list retinol or differin…

Ended up with

the pixi eye liner set,
the IT brow pencil,
the sugar raw lip balm,
Kate som serum,
Eyeko waterproof mascara…( I don’t have great luck with waterproof mascara maybe my mineral sunscreen interacts but I frequently end up with raccoon eyes…why? So try another brand…)

I went a little overboard for me this month…oops…

Reply ButtonReply

Lisa

I got my add ons at 7:41 EST . I went for Hempz and Pixi eyeliner duo.

Reply ButtonReply

Laura

I’m so excited that I was able to grab another Soroci eye cream. If anyone wants a great product? I’ve been using it daily for a month and it’s AMAZING. For $3?!? You get a 10ml tube, and it’s done more for my eyes in a month than any other EC ever has…I can’t shut up about it to any/everyone I know who enjoys skincare etc. So, when I saw it in add ons again for such a steal? I had to take a second to post here ☺️

Reply ButtonReply

Angelina

did anyone else not get to choose add ons this month? I’ve been refreshing the app and the website since the 2nd and it just says “ glam bag coming” doesn’t even show me what’s in my bag this month!! Kinda really pissed :/ missed out on add ons

Reply ButtonReply

Lila Williams

Is there a chance your credit card might not have gone through? I think this is what happens when the credit card can’t be charged. of course, you can always email customer service and they will help, too.

Nikkim

Ipsy actually sent me two products on accident last month extra with my bag. One was the Kate Somerville moisturizer and the other was that eye cream I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks and I do like it!

Reply ButtonReply

Lori

I’m sold! Haven’t found a HG eye cream yet. Thanks for the recommendation.

Reply ButtonReply

dia

I, too, added the Soroci eye cream last month and this month. I agree it’s a great eye cream and great price for the size.

Those of you interested in the Duft and Doft eye cream, iHerb is selling it for $11.59, so the Ipsy add-on price isn’t a bargain.

Reply ButtonReply

Amanda

100% agree with this! I got two last month (one in each bag) and picked up another this month – this stuff is amazing!

Reply ButtonReply

Irene

That’s great to hear, Laura! It’s the only add-on I ordered. I started to get the $12 Duft & Doft Salmon VGene eye cream instead (what a long list of interesting ingredients it had!) but went with the Soroci instead. I’m so pleased to see such a positive review — thanks!
