Hey everyone. I have a question. If I get on the waiting list for premium, how long does one usually have to wait before getting off?

To respond to the other comments regarding the quality of Boxy products vs the same ones purchased in Sephora etc and them not being the exact same. That is true 100%. An example, let’s say you go to Ross, and you buy a pair of Jordan sneakers, then go to Footlocker and buy the same shoes, you will notice their is a difference in quality. Slight differences. Why, because they may be marketed and mostly appear as the same shoe but the Foot locker shoes are authentic and made well opposed to the cheaper made ones which go to discount stores. Just the way things go when it comes to these companies making money. At the end there is usually always a catch when you are getting such a good discount for “high end” stuff on a consistent basis. If not, the company wouldn’t thrive, especially with as many customers as Boxy has.

First, Hello to the other Paige.
I decided to go with Premium and I went and added myself to the waitlist yesterday and within an hour my cc was charged and they emailed that a July Premium box was being shipped to me. So it doesn’t look like there’s a wait list at all right now.

Reply ButtonReply

Paige

Hi other Page! Lol. Oh okay awesome! Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it! Stay safe.

Ashley Nguyen

Hi Paige, not sure if your question was already answered. But I re-sub to Boxy base on the 15th, then got on waitlist for Premium. They attempted to charge me for premium the next day so I don’t think you’d have to wait that long at all.

Anyone knows when they added the Purlisse BB cream? I just saw it and they sold out of my shade 🙁

I feel like it was the morning of the second day because I went back the second day to purchase another face roller for my father and it was on there then. I did purchase it in a shade I think will work. There were a lot of shades at that time if I recall.

Storybook Cosmetics, Ciate London, Iconic London, and Kypris have all stated that’s false. The companies themselves had the palletes/serum produced in China. They never sold their packaging to Boxycharm for them to manufacture the products in place of their respective brands. Boxycharm pays the price of manufacturing the products. Boxycharm dosen’t have them made in their own lab. Why would any company allow a different company to manufacture their product for them only to then turn around and sell the same items on their own website? It doesn’t make any sense from a marketing standpoint. If Boxycharm screwed up the palletes/serum it could then in turn hurt the parent companies image and cause the company to lose business.

Cindy and Lena are correct. A lot of brands do this around the holidays, too. Too Faced and tarte being two major brands. They have their holiday gifts sets and collections produced in China due to the volume they need.

The counterfeit products that are being sold are an entirely different subject plus illegal. Those are completely ripped off from the brands and counterfeit/reproductions of the originals. Nothing about them are legit. You never know what ingredients are in them because the brands know nothing about them. This isn’t what is going on with Boxycharm.

Reply ButtonReply

Vicky H

No idea the context of this conversation but you are right on the holiday stuff. I NEVER buy holiday collections!

Don’t know what happened, but this was supposed to be a reply to the very bottom posts, LOL

I agree -that’s why I unsubscribed from FFF. I found their product quality started to go way down. The only thing I want to confirm is if a product says made in Italy for example, can this actually be made in China but say made in Italy because that’s where the original is made? That’s my main concern especially if the ingredients include hazardous items.

Mika

I luckily logged on in time to get the concealer. It was a hour in and most of the shades were out. Thankfully, they had the shade I’ve been eyeing for a while now. Figures crossed I get a unicorn box!

Anyone know when Luxe and Premium choice open?

Reply ButtonReply

GMforever

Premium open on the 20th according to their calendar, you can check it on their home page if you have premium.
Luxe won’t be there until Sept so choice will be in August.

Mary

when you see high priced products labeled “made specifically for ipsy” or “boxychsrm, you know it was made in a Chinese factory. Boxy admitted that they don’t have a factory in China but they do have one in Taiwan which makes some of their products in volume. Folks. You get what you pay for. Everyone is out there to make a profit and not to lose money. When you see the pop up sales with items for $6.00 or $12.00, that’s what it’s worth. Ipsy does the same thing.

Hi all, I purchased the concealer and glam glow as add on a but want to cancel the August box lol – will this cancel my add ons too?

Martina

No, they are send separately.

I picked Too Faced.

Cris Blanton

Super happy, got the GlamGlow moisturizer! I love Dr. Brandt too so it was a hard choice! I love Boxy-to me they are the best box out there! I mean how can you beat the value that is in these boxes??

Reply ButtonReply

Amanda

Is anyone getting the QMS Cosmetics Glow Tinted Day Cream? I don’t see how something one color can match everyone? I can’t find anything on YouTube about it. I would love to see the color. What about the Too Faced Concealer? I would like that & the It Cosmetics moisturizer they sent out last year in the light color finally matches my skin perfectly since I got a little tan. What color of the Too Faced concealer would I wear? I did the match thing on Sephora & it says I would wear Pearl foundation so I guess concealer would be the same. I dunno though. Can I swap it at Ulta or Sephora if it isn’t the right color? Someone help! Thanks!

Reply ButtonReply

G

Hi Amanda, I selected QMS too! Because it’s tinted and not an actual color I don’t think it needs to match exactly. It’s basically like putting a moisturizer on your face with just a hint of a color.

Reply ButtonReply

Steph H.

Try the temptalia foundation matrix. I’ve had good matches using it. It’ll match concealer and foundation.

Reply ButtonReply

Tayna

Ib got the concealer from the addons too for 12$ in shortbread

I’m super excited about the BB cream though

Reply ButtonReply

Tayna

Girl me! I’m sooo excited to try it! I bought glamglow from the addons for 12.00 hehehe

Reply ButtonReply

Cathy

That’s what I chose. I have a hard time picking concealer colors. I have tried the Dr Brandt and did not care for it. And I have way too many moisturizers right now. I can use a day cream though…

I quit Boxycharm that 24K gold gel gook they put in their box and marked for well over an 100 did me in. It is the same thing you can get on wish for like 2.00 I would think Boxycharm, would check things out before they go in a box with their name on it and 2 their silence spoke volumes, you would have thought if they were not in on the scam they would have made a statement.

Reply ButtonReply

Alice

Oh, they checked things out…they knew EXACTLY the scam they were pulling.

Most people don’t know that the brand is allowed to make inferior products and that a lot of them do not preform like the original.. so it isn’t worth it.. especially the value they are claiming the box is, isn’t as high as it seems.. Its the old bate and switch because most people, think they are getting something that they can order from Sephora.. Once the old 24K fiasco happened, I decided that I was out of there!! I had all three boxes so it wasn’t worth it to me.. They got a lot of my money.. I don’t think they have been doing the inferior products since the beginning, but it sure seems the norm now. People are comparing the products that came in the Boxycharm with they one they got from Sephora, Ulta or the brands site and they are not the same.

Does anyone know when choice for Boxyluxe usually happens?

Reply ButtonReply

Alice

The month prior to a Luxe box. So, next month for September Luxe.

Reply ButtonReply

The July Base Box and Premium Box are truly the most useless boxes that I could possibly have received. I looked at the contents and realized that I would not use one single item, out of both of the boxes. I have already paid, but August 2020 is the last boxes of my Base, Premium, and Luxe. I am FINISHED AND DONE with Boxy junk. I cannot afford to just throw away money.

I also agree about the feeling that the products might not be the exactly same products, produced in the same places under the same circumstances. It is no longer a risk that I want to take. I cannot make that statement as a fact. It is just something that I wonder about since so many other people are making that claim.

BoxyCharm, you sent me nothing but JUNK in my BoxyCharm and BoxyPremium boxes. Too bad for me that I wasted so much money for YEARS. Too bad for YOU, because I won’t be wasting any more. I’ll be opening a space for the next sucker. IPSY is already gone, and now it’s time to remove YOU.

I cancelled all my boxes by the end of June. I was debating keeping my premium depending on how fast customer service were able to fix my issues. Didn’t hear from them for weeks so cancelled my premium too by the end of the month and made sure to use up all my Charms as I had like $93 worth, so I got some junk from their charm room since they didn’t have anything really good (got a couple brow gels, a couple eyeshadow sticks in this brown shade and a DLS lip liner) that way it’s all used up too and fully cancelled my boxes. Their July boxes are a joke and it’s especially sad how few people will end up getting the “good” variations with the shampoo/conditioner and other advertised items. Most people will get that stupid jelly bag and all the other items they never advertised.

I’m glad I at least ended my boxes on a somewhat high note with the items I got in my June boxes even though I also got charged COD on top of them. Boxycharm paid me MOST of the COD charges back I had to pay, they underpaid by around $1 due to the exchange rate, but screw it I’m not gonna waste another month trying to get that money too. I’m just so done with their BS, their shady tactics, their bait and switch, their horrible customer service that ignores their customers and take WEEKS to respond and when they do respond it’s always cut and paste answers that don’t even answer your questions, not to mention their sketchy/moldy/tampered with items, and all their other issues. I’ll take that money I’ll save from all their boxes and pop-ups/add-ons, and I’ll just either buy from Sephora or Shoppers Drugs Mart or even the brands themselves, OR just keep checking out Winners/Marshalls for items I want, since that’s also the kind of stuff Boxycharm sells.

On another note though. August isn’t a luxe month. I’m not sure why I keep seeing posts from people asking when Luxe choice is, etc. Luxe isn’t until September, so if you’ve prepaid until August be glad you won’t have to pay the extra for Luxe and be out even more money.

Reply ButtonReply

Blue

Agree. The 111 for July is made in PRC for Ipsy. Im tired of it. Tired of the bait and switch, the terrible CS, everything. I knew I was going to get that awful bronzer palette. It might be useful for hunting face camo…if I hunted. I’ve got fair skin; I sure wouldn’t place on my face, what looks like pans of dark dirt, as a beauty enhancement. It’s a waste of my money to possibly get one useful item from BC. I have two more prepaid and I’m done.

Reply ButtonReply

Makeup86

On the 111Skin website it says on the page for that product:

“This product is produced in both Europe and the Far East depending on scale. In both cases, all raw materials are sourced from our regular suppliers and remain at a consistent premium quality.”

So, at least they’re being a little more honest.

Cheryl W

April was my last box after like 4 years or so.. I was very disappointed in customer service and decided that I was wasting my time and money and that they really didn’t care about their customers.. I wish they would stop sending me email about renewing.. Guess I will have to try to block them somehow.

Reply ButtonReply

Whitney Earl

Can you go down to the bottom of the email and click unsubscribe?? I have to do that every once in a while when I’m spending WAY TOO MUCH MOnEY on stuff I truly don’t need. I no longer get emails from Tarte or Too Faced or Urban Decay since I’ve unsubscribed. Maybe look into that.

G

What do I have to do to get Hourglass in my box?!?! I’m joking but also serious.

I received the most disappointing July Base box. I spend so much money in Base and Premium as well as tons of add ons every month, like literally hundreds $$h so I’m a good customer but yet this is what I got in my Base box:

Clean Skin Club – Vitamin C Brightening Booster
STUDIOMAKEUP – Endurance Cream Eyeshadow
Ace Beauté – Bronzed in Paradise Palette
Alamar – Birthday Suit Lip Gloss
The Crème Shop – Next Gen Blender Set – Pink

I mean I specifically said I don’t like tools except for brush cleaners and they finally have a brush cleaner yet they send a blender and they’ve sent me the tweezers before. I specifically don’t like lip gloss and got lip gloss instead of liquid lipstick. I specifically don’t like bronzer but they sent that instead of blush. And they sent STUDIOMAKEUP instead of Hourglass.

Reply ButtonReply

Angela

That sucks I’d be pissed too! I haven’t seen anyone get the Ace Beaute blush palette only the bronzer. I want the Hourglass scattered lights too it’s stupid they have two no-name brands of liquid eyeshadow as well as Hourglass. I got the wrong shade of Purlisse BB cream last month and so did my daughter they said they were sold out and gave charms for their crappy charm room instead and then I see the Purlisse in the shades we needed in popup for sale!! What a lying company plus I got that Touch In Sol glassy skin primer AGAIN for the second time.

Reply ButtonReply

G

Angela, that’s interesting perhaps they had very few blushes then? I can see how they would say that they have both items on offer but yet have way more of bronzer than blush. Yeah it’s definitely not fair when they have some no names versus Hourglass. So funny that you get the BB cream and the primer. I love getting skin care. I’ve written that on my beauty profile. I rated concealer and foundations and primers as being my top items that I want. But I never get them. My skin shade/tone is a pretty common found in all brand ranges. I can’t believe they send you the wrong color and yet you see it in the shop. I feel like this happens a lot and is frustrating. I’ve haven’t received that Touch in Sol primer ever either and I want it. It’s odd they would send you two. BoxyCharm needs to do better.

Bonnie

Why not just quit Boxy, save yourself this anger, and use the money to buy Hourglass products?

Reply ButtonReply

G

Thanks for taking the time to comment. Like I said, I was wondering what we had to do to get Hourglass in our boxes. I said I was joking but considering Hourglass is a brand they regularly offer and this time they even had 2 Hourglass products on offer (eyeshadow and brow pencil), it is a fair question. I always buy Hourglass when I see it in the pop-up sales but somehow it’s never in my Base or Premium boxes. I’m suspicious if they have some algorithm and because I spend so much money on Hourglass and much more in the pop-up sales every month, they withhold the good items in the box because I will buy the items I didn’t get in the pop-up sales anyway (if still available)? Also, you may have misunderstood me. Hourglass is just an example. This box was filled with items that don’t fit my beauty quiz profile at all and in fact they sent items that I rated very low when they did have options on offer this month that were much more suitable. I provided examples in my original comment. Judging by the other responses to my comment, I don’t think I was the only one disappointed with this box variation #27. And yes, I am considering canceling both my boxes.

Mary GT

I got this same box, and also am disappointed. I think they really need to work harder to make the variations equal. This one was a dud! Studio Makeup and Hourglass are in no way equivalent. And I definitely did not need more blenders; they sent me some just a few months ago.

Reply ButtonReply

G

I agree! There is so much variation. I understand some variation but it’s definitely not equal. This box was definitely a dud.

Kathy S

G
I got the same, very disappointing. I’m a long term charmer and have all 3 boxes ontop of pop up sales ect.

Reply ButtonReply

G

Ugh it’s pretty frustrating for us long term subscribers and big spenders who keep getting the short end of the stick. I’m suspicious if they have some algorithm and because we spend money in the pop-up sales, they don’t give is the good items in the box because we will buy the items we didn’t get in the pop up sales?

Jacqueline

I have been a subscriber to Boxycharm for about 3 years and I love it! But I was just on Sephora site and some people were bashing Boxy saying their products were not authentic. I personally have not seen anything suspicious about their make up but I would like the truth if someone knows the answer please fill me in.

Hey, no it actually had not been answered yet! Lol, thank you for your reply. Awesome, I will get on the waiting list then.

Denise

There are so many, many issues with fake products that have been well documented. Boxy charm has distributed several items in the last year that were not legitimate including the storybook cosmetics palette which was produced in China vs. US, it turns out storybook cosmetics sold the packaging to Boxycharm and they produced shadows in China, just google BoxyCharm storybook cosmetics drama and you will get the picture.. Same thing with an Iconic London Palette. Then they had a facial moisturizer with a $100 price tag that was supposedly produced by a new makeup company called Facia, turns out they purchased the items from Chinese factory that makes private label products- you just provide them with a label. Again just google and you will get the story. There has also been complaints filed with the BBB in Florida it is an ongoing Saga. The moral of the story is if you don’t want fake, cheap Chinese products that may be dangerous to your health then avoid BoxyCharm.

Reply ButtonReply

Dana

If the products aren’t real, how are they still in business if people know the truth? You would think they’d be shut down. I been with boxy for 3and a half years and never had any issues, I would be so mad if we are getting fake products! I really hope that is not the case. I did see the drama about the storybook cosmetics but I thought it was situated..not sure. I do wonder how we get such a high value for what we pay.

Lena

Sometimes the makeup company has their products made in a different factory than the ones they sell on their website due to the large volumes and trying to save money when putting an item in boxycharm. The companies that do that claim it’s the same formula but having it made in China saves them money.

If they send inferior products in boxycharm, that would be a waste of their time, imo, because you would try it out and think their brand is bad, so what would be the point? I think some people just like to bash boxycharm but boxy is not in charge of formulas, blame the brands if they disagree with the practice lol

Reply ButtonReply

Cindy

This has to do with the brand and not boxycharm. Brands are on a time crunch to get 5000+ units to boxycharm. So brands will outreach to Chinese factories to manufacture additional units to get the products in question to boxycharm.

Reply ButtonReply

C

I love this service too and was wondering the same. I watched a documentary on counterfeit products recently and it peaked my interest especially with the low costs. I really hope that isn’t the case. If it’s printed as made in can that guarantee it’s not a knock off? Do all the brands confirm that it’s a product directly manufactured by their team and now outsourced?

Reply ButtonReply

Debi

Yes, I have often wondered the same thing. The prices are soooo low on some of these items it makes you think there has got to be a catch. The only other thing I can think is (I am aware that there is an incredible mark up on makeup and goo) and maybe they are actually getting it at a more true cost. If thats the case we have been getting ripped off for years.
