We have the FULL spoilers for the August 2020 Boxwalla Beauty box!

The theme is 'The Curious Comfort of Skincare Like Things':

This August we are excited to feature two beautiful brands: Votary and Lovinah Skincare.

Each August Boxwalla Beauty box will include:

Lovinah Skincare's Dragon Blood Cleansing Oil (full size, $55)

This is an oil cleanser that emulsifies and rinses off with water. It is made with a base of antioxidant rich oils like milk thistle, guava seed, tomato seed, lingonberry, cloudberry (and more!) & infused with healing dragon's blood (a resin) extract, lycopene & gromwell extracts. With a stable vitamin C ester that inhibits lip peroxidation & double encapsulated BHA that gently cleanses the pores, this multitasking oil cleanser more than just cleanses: it nourishes, fights free radicals, removes makeup, gently exfoliates, plumps & regenerates the skin.

Votary Super Seed Serum - Broccoli Seed & Peptides (full size, $118)

This water-based peptide serum is a lotion-like hydrating emulsion. It contains hyaluronic acid along with antioxidant rich seed oils and both natural and bio-engineered peptides. It is filled with colloidal oatmeal, broccoli seed, camellia seed, chia seed, cloudberry seed, raspberry seed & pomegranate seed oils, along with green tea extract, firming & smoothing plukenetia volubilia seed oil (a natural peptide) & repairing carnosine (bio-engineered peptide). This soothing serum firms, plumps & rejuvenates the skin & makes it more resilient.

Votary Intense Night Oil - Rosehip and Retinoid (15 ml travel size, $67)

This is a night treatment oil that combines plant seed oils & plant extracts with lab-made retinoid, to deliver firmer, smoother skin. It contains nourishing & smoothing plant oils like rosehip fruit oil, tomato seed oil & avocado oil, as well as firming acmella flower extract and Australian sandalwood extract that addresses fine lines & reduces redness. The retinoid (Vitamin A derivative) used is the gentle yet effective Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate, which stimulates collagen production & encourages the natural turnover of surface skin cells.

If you had to pick 2 boxes from Pearlesque, Beauty Hero’s and Boxwalla, which 2 would everyone pick? Which has consistently good quality products?

I’ll give you three…Boxwallam Laurel & Reed, and Seenewskincare.

Thanks for your suggestion! Never heard of seenewskincare but I love the last 2 boxes!! Just signed up and am very excited for this subscription. 🙂

Boxwalla and Mintd even though the latter isn’t on your list. I also like the detox box and Laurel and Reed. Last up is BoxyCharm Premium because the pop up sales are great and my boxes have been consistent great. I also get the New Beauty Test Tube. The latest Tube has a full size Sunday Riley product.

Does anyone know if the night oil (and all of the products really) are okay for those of us with highly sensitive skin?

Oh man… cleansing oils are another weakness of mine in beauty boxes, but since I’ve been WFH, and will most likely continue to do so for the rest of the year (with the rare pop into the office) I basically haven’t been wearing any makeup since mid-March, and I feel like it’d be a waste to get this (side note: I’ve been doing a 20 in 2020 project, and I’ve had the same makeup remover in my project since toward the beginning of the year). I know I could use this as a regular cleanser too, but… hmm, I don’t know. I already have the Votary serum, but it would be awesome to try the night oil… but I think I’m still going to pass on this box. 🙁 I’m super thrilled though that I was able to snag their June box when they re-released a few more a couple of weeks ago!

Hi Luna, what is your 20 in 2020 project?

Luna

Picking 20 products (in my case full-size) to finish in 2020. 🙂 However, I’ve been doing a quarterly pick of 20 new products, so I guess I’m up to 60 in 2020? lol. I’m on track to hit my 20 items finished goal by the end of the year, but thanks to unexpectedly having to stay home more this year some of my picks have barely gotten any use so far. I thought about switching them out for products I am using more, but I’m going to leave them since I’m stubborn that way, lol. I think for Q4 instead of picking another 20 products, I’m going to switch up my routines so that I’m pretty much focusing solely on my picks to ensure I (or at least try to) finish up my picks by the end of the year. 🙂 (thought I’d mention I’ve already finished up way more than 20 products this year. I just haven’t been solely focusing on my picks this year like I should. doh!)

Also love and pay full price for cleansing oils/balms since I don’t receive many in boxes.

I still put on makeup everyday, not only for the daily video calls but also just to feel more like myself and ready for the day.

I’ve actually started using MORE makeup lol. Because I’ve been able to try more drastic looks

Great tip. I saw your comment on the Mintd spoilers too and know you are a skincare junkie like I aspire to be

Luna

I actually already do use a cleansing balm in the mornings during Fall/Winter, but it’s a balm that’s marketed as a morning cleanser (although I know it can be used anytime), and it works great in adding moisture to the skin and prep it before it gets blown all over by the crisp air. One thing I like to do is to do a mini facial massage (only 15-30 seconds), then let it sit for a couple of minutes while I brush my teeth, then rinse it off. I feel giving it a good massage into the skin and letting it sit for a little bit really helps in giving my skin that added moisture. 🙂

CC

That’s a great idea for the drier months 😊
This box looks more tempting now lol

Luna

I have such a weakness for cleansing oils & cleansing balms 🙂 Normally it wouldn’t bother me that I have as many as I do since I wore makeup practically every day before WFH & mask wearing, but now that I wear makeup on the very rare occasion I go into the office, I’m feeling a bit guilty seeing them just sitting there now. I think I’m going to cave and start using them as morning cleansers once Fall comes and the weather starts getting cooler… which is probably for the best anyways since my skin will most likely benefit more from their greatness that way. 😉

Break

Didn’t see the smaller oil spoiled on Instagram. This box is an even better value now, wow. Very excited.
