Yikes! I just got my summer welcome box and it’s AWFUL. From this list the only thing I got was a Swell water bottle and I don’t like the color of it, although I’ll use it and it’s the best thing in the box.
Other than that I got some earrings, and facial sponge and an UGLY (sorry if you like it) beach/swimsuit coverup poncho. EEEEK nooooooooooo. Only 4 things? Is that normal?

The summer welcome box hasn’t shipped yet. I think you got the spring intro box which was $25. It has 5 items. I received the Swell, tan clutch, Derma E night cream, konjac sponge, and scrunchies. I loved it and thought it was a great deal. I’m thinking of getting the summer version too. Much better than FFF’s mystery bundles!

The brushes arnt the best in my opinion… however I’m kind of a brush snob, I LIVE for the Sephora pro line brushes… but I do like a few of the real technique brushes. These brushes just seamed to flimsy to me and not quality. I’ve always said in sub boxes I would much rather we get one really nice quality more expensive brush than a bunch of crappy brushes. However I did give these to my sister whom isn’t a brush snob like myself and she loves them.

I am really unhappy about this bait and switch. I do NOT want any makeup brushes! I hardly wear any makeup as it is!! If I get those stupid makeup brushes I’m cancelling my subscription.

I want to subscribe but their website says that if you are a current subscriber you get the summer box but if you subscribe today, you get the summer welcome box, what’s the difference?

Yeah, the regular Summer box has different items than the welcome box. And the regular summer box was sold out weeks ago. Welcome boxes are meant for new subscribers and therefore includes items from previous boxes. Personally, I think this Summer Welcome box is quite nice, although the regular summer box is one of the best mix of products Causebox has put together ever!

The above spoilers are in the summer welcome box, the regular summer box has already sold out and has different items I believe.

ll waiting for the Spring Welcome Box I ordered in April. They are going to charge me for the Summer box in a few days. This was not the way to kick off a new Sub.

Same with me. My Spring Welcome would be my first box. It still says Awaiting Shipment.
I read more on the FAQ though, and went ahead and pressed “unsubscribe” and cancelled my subscription. Now my status says ‘canceled’ (no longer active/paying for next subscription), but my tracking still says ‘awaiting shipment’, so I do think it did the trick. Just to be sure, I just emailed Causebox to confirm that I will still be shipped my Spring welcome box that I was charged for in April, and just not charged/shipped any subsequent boxes. Honestly compared with FFF their shipping is way slower and their policies are more obscure… I thought they’d be more similar…

Ugh, I want this, but I’m not sure I want to restart my annual subscription. On the other hand, I absolutely DO NOT want the makeup brushes or the letterboard. I hate it when they recycle items that weren’t particularly popular in previous boxes.

Can anyone who previously got the makeup brushes, tell me a little about them? I’ve tried looking up reviews, but can’t find anything. I just signed up for a year and I’m super excited to get my first box. However now that the choice is between the S’well bottle and the makeup brushes, I don’t know which to pick. I have several insulated water bottles/travel mugs, and also have a ton of brushes.

I’ve been with Boxycharm since October or so, but I’ll be unsubbing from them by the end of the month, but thanks to them I acquired even more makeup brushes then Before. I have brushes from Eco Tools, The Body Shop, Elf, Billion Dollar Brushes, Yves Rocher, etc. And now because of Boxycharm, also brushes from Alamar Cosmetics, Moda Brushes, some smaller brand ones and the 15 piece Dreamcatcher Luxie set. I’m also getting a S’well bottle in my final Luxe box too.

So if anyone can tell me anything about these brushes up for choice, it would be greatly appreciated. I’d really like to know what the quality is like for them, same with the white wrap bag. Thanks! 🙂

They were in a box a few seasons ago. I almost kept them just for the case which looked nice for travel, but ultimately traded them as, like you, I have too many brushes. They looked nice, but I already have a nice Luxie set I prefer. Not sure how well they perform.

Thanks! I just searched the S’well website for accessories, and I saw that they sell the sport and swing caps for their bottles. So I think I might go with the bottle now, and then just buy one of the other caps (If I end up not getting one of the bottles with these caps – their website shows all the designs they’re picking from) so that way it’s a different type of bottle to the other ones I have. The brushes are nice, and I love that they’re vegan, but I think I have well over 100 different makeup brushes from all the sets I have. I don’t really need another makeup brush set, just because it comes in a nice brush roll/wrap.

Who knows though, maybe because of all the angry people posting online because the S’well is now a choice item, maybe they’ll change their minds and give it to everyone and get another choice item for the brushes. Ha ha.

I really want the lids and really do NOT want the letterboard. Had a hard time getting rid of the last one. Have too many make up brush sets as it is. So, even though I would like and buy this box if I knew I would get the Swell bottle and the lids, I am not going to get this box. Sorry I missed the regular Summer box by being offline at a crucial time.

Very disappointed with the switch that they did. After this box going to cancel because of it. The only 2 items I wanted was bottle and pmd. Here with exchange I paid 72$ kinda a bit pricy if that’s how they are doing things

I think the Swell bottle being a “choice” item just means that you get to pick the color–the brushes are another choice but we do not know what the other option will be! the bottle and brushes are not in the same category

You were right. I think they changed what the website listed. Originally it seemed to indicate the same in your first Comment (which matches this site’s post and Hello Subscription’s post) but, then the website info changed and now indicates it’s the bottle OR the brushes. It was misleading or at the very least vague and unclear.

Not happy either. I subscribed and then 24 hours later the old bait and switch of the Swell bottle or the makeup brushes appeared on their website. I ordered it for the bottle.

I’m a little confused. The way I read the above article is that everyone is getting a S’well bottle, crossbody bag and PMD Clean just various color options and its lids vs letterboard and brush set vs unknown item for a total of 5 items in the box?

It seems when they posted the bottle spoiler on their Facebook, they never mentioned it was a choice item and everyone assumed everyone would get it. But on the Causebox website, they list the S’well bottle as a choice item between the bottle and the set of makeup brushes. So it looks like the bottle isn’t guaranteed after all.

Kinda regret not buying the summer box before it sold out. This was the closest I’ve ever come to subbing cause box, but this welcome box doesn’t have the same appeal for me.

So glad I signed up! This box is looking great! Way better than the original Summer Box even. Im getting a purse and PMD Clean for $42? Should I say more!

I already have the brushes but they’d make a nice gift, if I get the Swell I’ll trade it since I already have one. I would prefer the letter board than the lids (not sure why people are obsessing over them), but I’ll take them. Hopefully the rumored diffuser gets in the box as the last item; it’ll make the box a grand slam.

I’m totally confused!! I signed up last March & told I’d be getting a welcome box & when I logged in to customize my summer box I had 4 choices, the color choice of the pdm thing, a diffuser with 2 choice scents, earrings, face cream or a trio of essential oils & bath salts or healing balm. All I have to say is WTH??? I’m an annual member so why am I getting to choose this garbage? I want the bag!! I hate when they have to come out with a “new box” just because 1 sold out! I’m gonna be super ticked if I get those brushes because I JUST bought them in the sale less than 1 week ago! Somebody PLEASE tell me what gives!

You are getting the standard Summer box. That box is now sold out. This is the Welcome Summer box. Now if you like this one better, maybe customer service would let you switch.

Well on the Causebox website it says the Swell OR makeup brushes are the choice, so if you are annual you will get to chose otherwise Causebox will choose for you

@Serina ME TOO!! This happened last season with the weekender bag, too. I saw a Facebook add that said ‘join now and have your choice of these three beautiful colours’.. it wasn’t until AFTER I spent the $90 (I’m in Canada) that I went to find where to choose my bag and realized I COULDN’T. I was SO MAD. I cancelled my subscription and got a refund because I was upset after being mislead that way. I sent a wordy email as well. Now for the second time.. I’m feeling like I got swindled. I saw that the S’well bottles would be in there FOR SURE, and decided to take the bait.. the crossbody got me too. But it started with the bottle.. now I might get stuck with makeup brushes?? I don’t have ANY use for those.. that’s literally garbage to me.. I also have no desire to get those lids.. if I get brushes and lids I’m out. CauseBox should really take a hint from FFF and allow their seasonal members to have some selections as well so we don’t just feel like we don’t matter at all just because we can’t afford to spend $300 all at once on a flipping subscription box.. I’m so annoyed to find out that the s’well bottle isn’t a guarantee…. I swear they do it on purpose!!!! SO SHADY.

I subscribed seasonally today – I originally wasn’t going to because I fear that I will get the Letterboard and Makeup brushes instead of the Swell Bottle and Silicone Lids (I already had really bad luck with FFF picks this season getting the infamous eye brow pencil and double creams)…but I really want to try the PMD Cleanser and the bag is something I could definitely use! I feel like with $41 that would make up for the value of the box if I got my less desired choices from their picks!

Annual members (paid for full year of boxes) get to customize their box and choose items/colours. If your a seasonal member (only buy one box), you unfortunately don’t get to choose and they will choose for you. 😕

You know, I thought hands down I’d get the lids when I subbed yesterday. But now, seeing how cheap they are, I might just buy the lids on my own and get the letter board as my choice item. This local shop near me has the lids on sale for $6.98 for a set of 6. Heck, I might buy 2 sets at that price. Ha!
