Birchbox sample choice for the July 2020 Birchbox is now open for all subscribers!

FYI - Birchbox recently announced an update for customization:

Starting in June, each month we will have two Featured Boxes you can choose from, with more quantities available than we’ve had in previous months:

  • Option 1: We will always have a Clean Beauty Box. All the samples in your box will be free of 13+ ingredients, so you can feel good about what you’re putting on your skin. It’s clear our subscribers want this and we’re making it possible to get a clean box every time if you choose this option.

  • Option 2: A box curated by our Co-founder and CEO Katia. In her curated box, you’ll be able to try products and brands she loves, so you can learn more about and follow her beauty routine.

I’m starting to wonder If Birchbox is about to fold. I know rumors of BB going out of business have been around since 2016. However, there have been signs they might officially be done for real. They are non existent on Facebook; the company hasn’t posted there in months. And, they pretty much abandoned the private Birchbox group they themselves started a couple of years ago. They really haven’t introduced anything new into their shop, other then one nail kit and a LE Spa box. I know that the pandemic could be playing a part in that. However, other makeup companies such as Ulta and Sephora have been cranking out new kits and products weekly. I used get email adds from them almost every other day if not daily. Now I probably only get one email a week or one every two weeks. They stopped giving ACES any real perks, they stopped making Instagram videos about the up and coming products in the boxes, and lastly this month they didn’t even send out a sneak peak email about sample choice. I found out randomly by opening the APP.

First time I’ve ever done this, but I swapped for points. So over Birchbox. Going to save to buy something out of the “shop,” and then peace out

For years I wanted a Birchbox that had samples intended for me. It took a year after I cancelled and civil unrest for them to finally consider the skin tone input in my profile.

I want that box but I refuse to get sucked in again. Birch box started doing well with sample sizes and numbers after the price increase but the number of too-light-for-me products and dry shampoos weren’t worth it for me ultimately.

I hope everybody else finds what they need through Birchbox though.
