FYI - Fabulous You Box is temporarily closing:

It is with a heavy heart that due to COVID-19 we have made the decision to temporarily close for the safety of our employees, very delayed shipping conditions and product allocation with our vendors.

Please be assured that you will not be charged during this time frame as all auto-recurring has been shut off. We are hoping to be back up and running soon and will keep you posted.

We will NOT be holding subscription members payments either. All members will be getting refunded for their May box purchases and if you purchased an annual or semi-annual subscription, you will be refunded for any balance remaining on your subscription.

We have started the refund process and you will receive an email once your refund has been processed. Everyone will have the option to reactivate their subscription at their locked in rate once we reopen.

Navigating Covid-19 has been very difficult, but we are all in this together and we are hopeful for brighter days. We thank you for your support and patience during this difficult time and we hope that you stay safe and healthy. We look forward to seeing you back real soon.

XOXO

Has everyone received their refunds? I did not receive an email from them…just this post and I saw their Instagram post!! I haven’t received anything!

Check your spam, I found all my emails from them in spam. Hope that helps.

Did anyone not get an email about returns? I never got an email saying they were closing (I found that info here) and the only email I have received said that my box has been cancelled but no details or any statement about funds being returned. The summer box would of been my first box with them so I am nervous that since I didn’t get an email saying I’ll get a refund that these ladies are running off with my $150. Just trying to see if anyone else has had like zero communication from the box other than one email simply saying it was cancelled and then providing me a link to resubscribe which goes to their closed off website. Suggestions on what to do?

Same thing happened to me. I received the cancellation email and then the next day I was refunded and received 2 different refund emails. Seems they are doing the cancellations first, then the refunds. At least that was how it worked for me.

Has anyone received any notice of refund from their card co or bank?
I mean, other than the 2 emails I have.

I’m starting to wonder if the emails were to stall chargebacks. Some forms of payment may have a short dispute period, I’m not sure.

I have a financial institution which credits me immediately when the funds hit the account. No waiting, no delays. And nothing except emails from AFU ( that’s my acronym for them now).

I hope these women don’t ever again try a subscription box service with odds and ends that are a bit questionable…I’d likely have more sympathy for them if they’d refund promptly. They’ve never had a piece of the merchandise pictured, and my dog is having extensive urgent surgery tomorrow.

Every little bit would help since he got so sick so fast.
Just needed to speak up..

This is a startup. There may not be any employees, just the owners. And someone may be sick with COVID-19. That said, we should probably be gentle with our criticisms and the conclusions we are jumping to.

I got notification of my refund this morning. It said it should post to my account within 10 days. If not, I can forward the email to the credit card company.

People love to cry though and if they get a refund what can they have a fit about?!

I received my refund email this morning… I checked my acct and don’t see anything pending as of yet as far a refund but I’m assuming it will show up within the next couple of days..

Well that was no big surprise. I feel bad for the owner(s) of this box. They got torn apart in these forums. But you live and learn and you come back stronger.

Sandy

No big surprise.

I truly believe this was tied somehow into Luxor Box management.

They did the SAME thing with the bundling of items from one company when they had cosmetic items, especially.

The fact that I can’t reach them is also just like the former ” luxury box”.
I cried, I was so upset that this is just so shady, and my husband gave me the money for my sub box account fund so at least there’s that. He can go after them for the money. I’m not up to dealing with them after being so sick and now having rib damage from coughing so hard
with COVID-19.

That’s the thing with me. They say they can’t ship because of the virus. I had it and was able to pay them!!

I’m sorry to hear you have covid. I hope you are on the mend and enjoying spring soon.

Bonnie

Thank you so much. I’m fine in one position, but that’s not exactly healthy for my lungs… just my rib/ ribs and sternum.

I hope you and everyone here has a beautiful spring!!
To be honest, I just want to stay in my house and not deal with more waves of this.

Sometimes, I think ” There won’t be any subscription boxes left in a year that are legitimate” because SO MANY warehouse workers are needed to pack and ship orders…

Danielle

Yikes…the short existence of this box sure has been an adventure

I surely find it strange that they have my money and have not sent me any email about a refund or not shipping.

I cancelled, and then- crickets.
Pretty much worried about getting my money back at this point.

To be safe, I’d suggest filing a chargeback with your credit card company (or Paypal, if that’s how you paid.) You can tell them that the company said they will do refunds, but since it hasn’t happened you wanted to file a claim. That way, if Fabulous You ends up not refunding, you’ve already gotten the process started.

This sub has always felt shady to me.

louise

This definitely seems like the type of sub that someone started thinking it would be so easy, and then found out really quickly that it’s not. My skepticism radar has been on alert since its inception.

Not really surprising for an overpriced box that’s just launched. A huge shame for all employees affected, but if they do relaunch they need to lower their price-point to compete with the other quarterlies. I thought 4 spongelles in one box was a scandalous inclusion.

Am I the only one who thinks it’s strange that they’re refunding everyone’s money? To me, that sends out vibes of not planning on reopening…

Reply ButtonReply

Pam

Nope, they’re definitely closing and using Covid19 as an excuse.

Reply ButtonReply

Ash

Just a guess, but this box was looking more and more awful with each spoiler. I am sure the virus played a part, but I don’t think it’s the main reason they’re closing.

I had an unkind thought, I wonder if its because TJ Maxx or Marshalls is closed….mostly because other boxes are still sending out stuff even if its tad late.

Reply ButtonReply

Amy

I mean I do think they’ve featured a lot of brands I’ve seen at TJ Maxx (Kendra Scott, Spongelle, Teami, TokyoMilk (margot elena)) but they’re all still solid brands.

I would think those stores being closed would help sub boxes since brands still need places to offload items

Still that’s good of them to send refunds, and I’m interested to see if they reopen and how!

I have more respect for actions like this company is taking. Sub boxes are definitely not considered essential and the ones that were continuing to operate were taking a big risk with their worker’s lives. Kudos to boxes like Fabulous You, Yogi Surprise, Fashionsta etc , who valued the safety of their workers over profits.

Kristin

A lot of states are already reopening (mine included) so politicians aren’t as concerned haha.

TNTriathlete

I only wish Fashionista was refunding our money like other boxes are.

michelle

Are we thinking about the same box? Their last box featured Kendra Scott jewelry, Spongelles, and Margot Elena products. Are these at TJ Maxx or Marshalls? I didn’t get a close out vibe from this sub.

Reply ButtonReply

Julie

Not sure about spongelle but I’ve seen tons of Margot elena stuff at tj maxx and Marshall’s. I had their sub hoping to get home and jewelry items because that’s the stuff that never hits the closeout stores. Kendra scott makes appearances but not a ton.

Terry

Neither did I. I really enjoyed the first box. I appreciate the fact that they are being upfront about what’s going on, unlike some other subs have been.
