For anyone curious, I got my bag today.
First of all, one of the reasons I got it was because I think the bag is cute, but it never even occurred to me until I opened this (next to my glam bag plus that also arrived today) that this bag MATCHES the other February bags. So, that made me happy, even if I feel a little silly for not realizing it matched earlier.
In my bag, I got:
*the Betty Boop cheek palette (didn’t hate it the first time I got it, but didn’t love it either)
*unicorn glow primer (will try it even though I think I already have my HG primer)
*a single-color Wander highlighter (looks like it will be good for the brow bone)
*a Moda brush (“glow”) that I don’t recognize from anything recent
*two midflower sheet masks
*The little ipsy bag charm that is two heart shaped lollipops. (I really, really like these charms– they feel really solid and heavy for a $3 item. My favorite so far is the snowflake I bought in December.)
Not a bad bag, IMO. (Would have rated higher if I hadn’t already had the Betty palette.)

When I first signed up with Ipsy I got the regular glam bag obviously and once news broke that plus was coming out I upgraded after the second month it had been out and haven’t gotten a regular monthly glam bag since but have seen many different samples/items featured in regular Ipsy glam bag over all these months that I would’ve loved to try but I can’t really afford to be spending the extra money to get plus and regular EVERY month so these mystery bags are really appealing to someone like me who might only have plus or ultimate and want to take a chance on maybe getting to try something that’s been featured in the past, I don’t see why everyone complains about it being “old reject stock” just because it’s old to you or isn’t a product you like doesn’t mean it’s going to be considered old and reject to someone else looking to try these bags so all the negative comments about mystery bags I think is absolutely misleading to someone reading reviews before thinking about purchasing one, it’s literally called a mystery bag and everyone SHOULD know going into purchasing it that the whole entire concept is different than the monthly bag that’s “tailored to your preferences”.. I’ve been reading up the comments on these mystery bags for awhile so I finally caved and had to try one for myself and got the end of the year bag and got the exact keychain I wanted an ofra lip gloss an eyeshadow by the balm a perfume first aid beauty lotion and one other skin care sample I can’t remember cus it was my least favorite item but all in all for rolling the dice on a mystery bag fully knowing there’s a ton of possibilities on what you could get I thought it was great I was beyond happy to not feel “screwed” like many people claim they felt about their mystery bag purchase..I’ve only purchased the one mystery bag so if I purchase another one I might not get as lucky the next time but it’s common sense and I think it’s worth it for sure especially if you love the bag or now one of these new keychains they’ve been coming out with. I just had to put my opinion out there so tired of seeing people constantly complaining and bashing mystery bags it seems like 😴 if you’re thinking about it and it’s in the budget I say go for it ladies, treat yourself to a lil surprise, it’s fun! 🥰✨💯

What do you guys do with the bags? I’m just curious. I get the bags and I toss em or they just lie in my pantry forever until I toss them. The bags look cheap to me; I’d rather just have another product.

I brought Wristlet straps from amazon and use mines as wristlets when I go an vacation. They complement my outfits and are very handy since I do not like to carry purses but I need a secure place for my phone. They also make good add-ons for gifts.

I’m just restarting Ipsy but when I received it in the past, I would put toiletry items in the bags and drop them off at the women’s shelter. It was always appreciated.

I donate them. They are terribly wasteful and a main reason I canceled the subscription. I wish they’d give us the option to not get one.

Alice
I use them for various storage, including art supplies. I use them for donations.

One of my daughter’s friends collects period supplies, packs them up in these and drops them off with area middle school nurses stations. She’s a Girl Scout, so if you know any, you can always ask if they’re collecting!

Julie
I put gifts in them. Jewelry and makeup and other small gifts. I’ve been trying to use less paper and plastic and these can be reused by the recipient. You can also donate them.

I collect all the products I’m not going to use every month and put them in a bag and either give it all to a friend or put it in the break room at work. It’s their problem now 🤣

I do this very same thing! I actually use the bags for various things.. to keep change in, cell phone chargers, other various items.
Paula
The bag is cute! Don’t need it, but will probably get. Lol

Isn’t a mystery bag what I’m pretty much already signed up to get each month? Speaking of, I received my February box yesterday. Ipsy…Did you really send me a $154 brush set in a paper envelope? For real, You’d have done better to just chuck them in the make-up bag that comes with the box.😂 The brushes are nice for anyone curious, they are soft and have good weight. They are not $154 brushes, but I might pay half that for them. Has anyone bought the full size Feel Harmony mask before? Is it supposed to look brown? I remember it being closer to clear or yellowish when I got a sample pack of it. I’m trying to figure out if mine is no good, or if the color just looks different to me because of the container it’s in. Any help from someone who might use it regularly would be appreciated!

Yes, that’s why I don’t understand the mark-up on the monthly “mystery” bags… it’s literally surplus stock they’re trying to unload, & it’s not even going to be customized to your preferences!
If you want an extra of the monthly bags, just make a second account. You can use the same name, payment info, & address; all you need is a 2nd email account. You can even refer yourself & get bonus points!

Ooh…Marion, I was just trying to figure out who I could refer to get those 1800 extra points…I hadn’t even thought of myself!🤦😂 Thank you, I might do that. I definitely never understood paying extra for a mystery bag that is pretty much the same stuff we already paid less for. It just doesn’t make any sense. 💁
*For anyone who saw my question about the Feel Rose Mask, I contacted Feel and it’s normal. Just thought I’d put it out there, cause the stuff is straight up brown and might cause concern if you didn’t know better.

Okay so I’m like 100% sure I’m the only one in the dark, but did everyone else know that you can shop on IPSY for the same stuff you can at like Ulta, Sephora, etc? I mean I’ve always known about their daily and weekly deals, and that you can buy past mystery bags and special ones like this one today, and I know about extras and add-on’s at bag time, but I had no idea they had a FULL SHOP just like Birchbox does! Wow I feel so silly. I’ve been subscribing since September and had no idea. Wild!

For those who’ve gotten mystery bags before and didn’t like, what did you get? TIA.

Repeat items that have already been in multiple glam bags & Ipsy offers.
e.g.- one of the spoilers in the bag description is that Lovecraft beauty items may be included in the mystery bags. Ipsy has already sent full size AND sample size Lovecraft blushes in multiple months, & has included them in at least one Ipsy offer that I can remember. If you ever wanted a Lovecraft blush, you probably already have one at this point. (Of course, they could be sending Lovecraft bronzer, which have been featured less often, but I doubt it.)

Amy
lol I’m hoping I get lucky and avoid the Lovecraft – I can’t wear bronzer and don’t wear blush, plus I already have 2 of the blushes lol
I mostly got it because I am a sucker for surprises and I know I’m at least getting an ADORABLE bag – that my mom will probably steal lol
Alice
Off the wall lipcolors, like lilac; gold glitter eyeshadow, primer. For me, nothing worth taking the leap again.

Definitely got this more for the bag than the “mystery” products inside. It’s my first mystery bag with Ipsy & I’m prepared to be disappointed with the products, but hoping to be happily surprised by at least one product. Lol

I caved immediately when I got the email. The bag is too cute to pass up and I love their keychain/charms.

I’m buying it for the bag 😍😍😍
I’m pretty well over samples but they do gift well and who knows, I might get something useful like a brush or an eye cream. Girl can never have too much of either one of those.

I used up my points so I can finally cancel ipsy, I have mega product overload and I am just not excited about the products anymore. But…I really like the March plus bag design…so I bought this one just to get that style bag!

KATY
I don’t think I can cancel. I just left Ulta and priced the Murad Balancing moisturizer that I absolutely love. It’s almost $50 with tax. I got my first one in my Ipsy Plus and I just bought two more as Add ons for $12 apiece. To say I am addicted is an understatement. The skincare alone is so worth getting Plus and Ultimate and I might as well get the glam bag so I am getting all three coordinating bags every month. My bag addiction plays a huge factor as well.

Nope, I felt screwed over on the last two mystery bags.

Nope. The contents are rejects and very small.
I will keep my money for FFF.

Nope! The bag is not cute enough for me to get fooled by this again!
These leftover stock mystery bags are really only good for newer subscribers, or for use as gifts.

I have been disappointed in last 2 mystery bags I bought ( April and Black Friday) and was relieved I didn’t buy end of year one. I plan on avoiding them from now on. Especially since I get feeling Tarte is the black eyeliner and Lovecraft will be blush or bronzer.

I got this and skipped March in my standard bag lol. The bag design itself is too darn cute, and I’m getting a second of that in my March GBP so my mom can have this one and I’ll keep the teal!

No way! I’ve bought the last couple mystery bags and it’s all tiny old stock. If the price was still $10 then maybe. But I could buy full sized items for $3-$4 dollars at boxy pop-up instead!

No, but I bought those chewy red hots candy that are pictured & yum! Just FYI 😁

I’m not sure if it’s a zippered bag or it opens envelope style. Does anyone know for sure? It would be awesome if it was envelope style!
Reply
Amy
Given where the keychain is, I would guess it’s an envelope, but it does almost look like a zipper on the top. Maybe just maybe it will have 2 pockets? I would be over the moon if that were the case. This is definitely the most chic bag Ipsy has had in a while (spoiler alert: it’s the same bag in a teal color way for the March GPB!)
April
My apologies…idk why it posted as a response to your message. Wasn’t intended and I surely did not hit reply!
Elizabeth
I got one! The bag is very cute and it’s been a while since I got anything “mystery” , so we’ll see if this one is any good 🙂

Jen
I bought one because I think the bag is very cute but if they’re intending these for holidays they really need to release them sooner so they actually arrive on or before the anticipated event…

I thought the same thing, there is no way any of us would receive this before/on Valentine’s Day to be able to get ‘Date-Night-Ready’. Still a really cute bag

Julia
Who wants to go out on Feb. 14, when the restaurants are crowded and the prices are jacked up? I’m happy to get data-night-ready on subsequent evenings.
Lori
I thought the same. But still ordered and excited to get it. I normally order Mystery Bags as gifts but this one is a little treat for just me! I love the bag and if I get any repeats I’ll just gift them.
Ronda
Great point!
