  1. I received the Mamonde serum, Rodial mascara, Lapcos mask, lemon butter, UD eye pencil, lip gloss Floss in lax. I love everything except the UD eye pencil, received too many black eye pencils with subscription boxes. There are not repeats for me (subscriber for 3 years) except the lip gloss but the one I received before was clear and the one that just came is a very nice pinkish color. Love, love this box!

  2. It is a boring box but I’m personally looking forward to getting another Floss (and I’m glad it’s a different color). My daughter decided to “experiment” with the last one I got so needless to say, i only got it for 2 days.

  3. Just an FYI: When you go to Allure’s website to “Become a member” they are NOT showing the Mamonde Serum, Dr. Botanicals Lemon Superfood, or Rituals shower gel. Why does it feel like they released those as a Bait and switch to get new customers…and now realizing they don’t have enough product or it is only sent to influencers…UGH..I wanted to love Allure again..but nope not falling for it! I would be interested in seeing what Amazon subscribers get though…see ya around Allure..when you get your A game back..Call me.

    • How is that a bait & switch? Here they are listing all the products that are available and you will get six of them. The Allure website shows the new member box and new members will indeed get six of the products listed above. They may be repeats to long time members but not to new members. This allows more long time members to get fewer repeats.
I have been a member for over a year and received the Mamonde Serum, the Dr. Botanicals and the Rituals Shower Foam. The only repeat for me was the Floss which was in a different color. And I am NOT an influencer.

  4. Finally cancelled my IPSY boxes and all 3 of the BoxyCharms, so decided to also cancel this and get through all of the products collecting dust. I feel such a sense of relief.

The reason for me posting is that the customer service rep was incredibly nice and helpful, without pushing me to continue. BoxyCharms has the absolute worst customer service that I have experienced. Feels good to save the money and not have more clutter coming in every month.

  5. I agree with the previous post. That lip balm was a joke. However, I’m overall happy with Allure. I loved the Mamonde oil to foam cleanser! I tried the toner as well. I would 💘 to get them again!!!! Rose oil is my jam. 🌹🌹🌹Happy Valentine’s Day to all!

    • Rose oil is great for the skin and the body. You can eat rose petals I fact and the Victorians made rose petal sugar for sweet tea breads. That’s why it is a beauty staple. I love it too. The Momonde products are welcomed by me. The scent is quite light and fades quickly.

      • No, it really isn’t, where are you getting this from?
And the fact that it’s been used for a long time doesn’t mean anything: most people are still completely ignorant about skincare NOW – what can you possibly expect from people centuries ago?

        • Let me guess…. You’re an expert? There are many ancient holistic skincare methods. Ones that are still used today. What’s wrong with rose oil?

          • It’s fragrant and volatile and aggravates skin. Anything fragrant cannot possibly be *good* for skin.
And no, I am not an expert, but I did make an effort to learn about skincare, and scientific research is readily available.

        • JuJu, that is really unnecessary. You can discuss or debate an issue, but this tack is insulting while providing nothing more than insult. If you disagree and can tell us why you feel rose is a bad choice, please do, as it could be helpful to us all.

          • Given how many people on here are advocating for it, I wouldn’t want to spend a lot of time writing, but you can watch Hyram on YouTube if you want for good information on skincare.

I didn’t learn about it from him, I actually only discovered his channel like last month, but I read a LOT about skincare over the years (I had problem skin as a teen and in my early 20’s), and his information is legit.

      • I agree, Ann. Rose oil seems to have many benefits for use on skin. I just did several quick searches on line and could only find benefits. Just because something is naturally fragrant does not mean it harms your skin.

        • You should read up on essential oils.

          • essential oils are amazing for skin seeing on what your going for and trying to do.

          • This reminds me of a line from Parks and Rec.

            Never mind.

          • Girl I feel ya. Most fragrance are bad for your skin, same for essential oils in skincare. People need to be more aware about what the companies put in as ingredients

          • Juju your first mistake is listening to Hyram. He is nothing more than a skincare enthusiast with no qualifications to be giving “expert” advice. Rose oil, like most ingredients in skincare, has good and bad and is dependent on the persons skin. Rose oil is an emollient and has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory. While some people can be sensitive it’s not as common as with other ingredients.

          • I don’t actually listen to him. Like I said, I got my information from elsewhere. I accidentally stumbled upon his “the truth about such and such brand” videos, and was pleasantly surprised that the guy actually knows what he is talking about.

And there are many much safer emollients, but hey, it’s your skin and you can put what you want in it.

          • Would have been better, IMO, if he just impartially reviewed the products themselves rather than put such a heavy emphasis on the social causes the company behind them us involved in – that was why I personally didn’t subscribe to his channel.

      • I cant wait to try this box… I just might buy 2 of them.

      • The comments trashing rose oil and essential oils are inaccurate. Rose is wonderful for the skin. Essential oils can be too, depending on which oils as they all have different properties. What IS true is that essential oils need to be very diluted to be safely used and they should never be taken internally (ingested). This is also different than pressed oils or hydrosols, which don’t need to be diluted. Skincare formulators know this and use very small amounts of essential oils. Some people with very sensitive skin cannot tolerate anything that has a fragrance. This does not mean that it’s true for everyone or that essential oils are to be completely avoided. I’ve been researching skincare, how to formulate skincare, and herbal medicine (including it’s use in skincare) for a couple decades now, and continue to educate myself on new information. Don’t let the alarmists scare you. Rose is very beneficial to the skin.

    • I am now using both the petal oil foam cleanser and the toner. I get them from Amazon very inexpensive and love it! I really would like to get the recovery one though!

  6. Theee bad boxes in a row. I’m out. Just can’t justify the cost when for 10 more I get boxy. I have a year sub so my last month will be March and it can’t come too soon. These boxes are so bad. I loathed the alar lip balm last month. Bite is soooo much better and the rest of this is retread. I know o have received a crap ton of rose monmade from them which is the variation. Who wants strong rose on their face?

    • It just goes to show that “your mileage may vary”. I love that Akar lip balm. I use it daily. I can’t recall a time that my lips have felt more soft and more healthy in my life. I wonder if some people gave up on it too soon. Anyway, Allure has been a great source for new to me items that I actually enjoy and use.

      • I think everyone is just different. I’m in my mid 40’s. I grew up with chapstick, carmex or Vaseline. We did have other lip balms, flavored, but basically wax. I have no idea how many different types and brands I have tried over the years… For years and years my nightly lip treatment was Vaseline. Then I got pregnant and my skin got SO DRY! Doctor suggested several things including lanolin. Yes, I know what it is. I kept a tube of lanolin nipple cream in my nightstand for a couple of years, then Vaseline, got pregnant with my second, back to lanolin… Ran out eventually and went back to Vaseline but started buying the one with cocoa butter in it too. Then Ipsy introduced me to the Hanalie lip treatment. SOLD!!! Someone sent me some Dr. Lippy, it’s just lanolin. I have some Vaseline in the bathroom, but I pretty much stick to lanolin or Hanalie. I’m a lip chewer. 🙄 I rarely have skin on my lips that needs exfoliating. I really did think I would absolutely love the akar. But, I didn’t. It caused problems on my perfectly healthy lips. Cracking and peeling. It took a couple of weeks to get my lips back. The culprit ingredient is the citrus in it. If you have chapped lips damaged skin, I can see how the akar would help some. But, unfortunately, for me, it caused problems. I’m not blaming akar. I should have read the ingredients 1st. I’m regretting an add on from Ipsy that I have not tried yet and I’m not sure I even will. It’s the Polaar lip treatment and one of the ingredients is citronel. Citrus. Dang it! I’m obviously sensitive to citrus…

        • Sarah, I’m testing that exact Ipsy product Polaar today so that I can leave an informed review on it on their site. I’m hoping those review points eventually add up to a free product. Or something. So far, I find the texture and the effectiveness of the Polaar good, BUT…it has sort of a medicine-y or menthol flavor to it that…just reminds me of when I had to borrow my Dad’s chapstick from like 40 years ago. So even if it is effective, that flavor/fragrance, sadly, will stop me from wanting to actually purchase it. I also extremely dislike wasting things so I may end up using the rest of it anyway, after I finish my (still) favorite AKAR.

          • I put it in my husband’s travel bag just in case he does need something. He’s aware of the ingredients. Doesn’t bother him.

          • My favorite lip product since getting it from my Allure sub is the Laneige lip mask. It is the best I’ve ever used, love it! The lil pink round goes a long long way. My lips feel fantastic every morning. It really does exfoliate any dead skin too, it just wipes away in the morning. I too did not like the ajar. I will stick to what works.

          • Yes! That stuff is SO good! I’ve gotten 2 samples of it from subs in the past. I only tried it a couple of nights the 1st time when we ended up with my youngest daughter coming home from her father’s on an emergency type situation. Good job dad! So, it took a couple of days to get her stuff. Naturally, you’re going to offer your children, or anyone else who needs something, to use what you have when they don’t have. She loved it and it’s now her absolute favorite. I think I’ve given her 4 of them and she gives me anything vanilla. I would probably use it, but since my daughter loves it so much, I will probably always pass it on to her.

        • Just to reinforce that everyone is different: I can’t use any lip product that has lanolin in it. It leaves not just my lips but the skin around my lips chapped and raw to the point of being painful. Maybe an allergy? The Akar is not my favorite balm in the world, but I didn’t have any sort of reaction to it, either. But then, I’m not sensitive to citrus oils.

          • Actually, it’s quite possible that you have an allergy or serious sensitivity to lanolin. I know some people that are. Lanolin is usually the main ingredient if not the only ingredient in nipple cream for breastfeeding momma’s. My sister-in-law is allergic to it. I felt SO bad for her! Can you imagine trying to breastfeed and then develop an allergic reaction on your nipples?! 🥵 Ya, I’ve seen it, I get it. Not to mention that people can develop different allergies and sensitivities to things as we age. I can use use sheet masks. But, I generally rinse the serum off because most contain witch hazel. That’s something I used to use twice a day, everyday as a cheap toner. Not now!
I know some people can’t stand the thought of lanolin because of where it comes from. Yes, it comes from sheep. It’s what keeps their skin soft and healthy. But it doesn’t mean it’s hypoallergenic either. I don’t mind plain Vaseline, petroleum jelly, on my lips either. That’s what we had for dry skin when I was growing up. But, it does clog the pores around the lips.
I also did not have any issues with anything citrus until I became ill, and now my thyroid no longer functions. 🤷🏻‍♀️
I sub to Ipsy as well, I got a few add ons but I didn’t read the ingredients 1st. 🙄 My bad. I got a lip treatment that you might like but I can’t because it has citronel in it. It’s POLAAR The Genuine LipLand Cream Lip Balm. I tried it once by squeezing some out on a q-tip. Nope! But, it won’t go to waste. I’m going to be a grandma for the 1st time! 😃 It works for momma’s dry winter lips. She’s thrilled with it! Best thing ever! Lol! 🤷🏻‍♀️
We’re all the same, but we are all so different at the same time too.
Like my mom always says,”What a boring life it would be if we were all the same.”

      • I’m surprised to see all the negative comments about that lip balm, too. It was probably my favorite thing in the box!

        • I’m surprised to see so many negative comments on the Allure Box as a whole. For $15, they really do include great high end skin care AND Cosmetics, not to mention at least 2 products are full sized. Instead of filing the comment section up with how much Allure disappoints you, just cancel your sub already. Personally, with the exception of massive once every few months, I am very happy with every one of my boxes (but, that IS how sub boxes work)

    • My mother is on oxygen, and can’t use anything petroleum based on her lips or to moisturize her nose. (Which gets very dry because of the oxygen, and she gets bloody noses.) The AKAR lip balm has been a lifesaver for her. NO PETROLEUM. Everyone has favorites for a different reason. I personally don’t like BOXY–too much makeup and not enough skincare. To each their own. I’m just happy there are so many choices of sub boxes out there.

      • I’m sorry to hear that. It can be very difficult to deal with, especially in the winter months.
Everyone is different. I couldn’t stand the akar, but that’s just me. It’s the citrus in it. I pretty much stick to straight lanolin. I’ve had patients on oxygen use it as well. If you or your mom are interested in trying the lanolin, ask the doctor 1st because it usually lasts all night long. The least expensive way to buy it is in the baby section, in the breastfeeding supply section, nipple balm. Just read the ingredients. It should be 100% purified lanolin.

        • Thanks for the tip. We are new to this oxygen thing so I really appreciate your help.

    • I’ve enjoyed the past few boxes after disliking that stretch with a lot of collabs. The recent ones have felt more like “real” Allure boxes to me with some good skincare. We all like different things.

  7. So a few months back they had a box with many variations I had 3 subscriptions at the time & ordered 3 more all my boxes cane the same except one I was extremely disappointed plus I only use two addresses so you would think they would catch on & mix it up nope

  8. Ditto

  9. I feel like this box was curated by TJ Maxx 😕

    • I agree, but it’s a bit more like that clearance section where it’s odds and ends and even open stuff. I’m definitely skipping this month. I’d rather spend the $16 on a bottle of wine.

  10. oh boy… this box could either be amazing or awful, becasue of the variations. I don’t use clear lipgloss, but the other option looks very nice, but at the same time – can’t guarantee which one you’d get. butter – yes please, cleansing powder, no thank you. shower foam – sure, pencil, oh god no. serum – love, cleanser or toner – no thanks.

I think… I’m going to pause it for another month :/ too many variables that can go disappointingly wrong :/ and honestly – those variations are so all over the place… why?

    • I literally want every variation exactly as you stated it!! It’s just too many variations, and I’m not that lucky. I have a very slim hope that Amazon will have our curation. Then I could verify before ordering. …Okay, reallllly slim chance lol.

    • Righttttt

  11. There’s really nothing I want in this box that makes it worth the money for me. I’m definitely skipping.

  12. STOP TRYING TO MAKE SHOWER FOAM HAPPEN.

…okay, I might be in a minority absolutely hating it, but shower foam or black eyeliner makes it sound like subscription boxes have become self-aware and are making fun of themselves now XD

    • I absolutely love shower foam.

      • Especially by Rituals!

        • Interesting, why?
I don’t feel like it cleans at all.
Also, some scents are not pleasant.

          • The Rituals of Ayurveda is my least favorite of their fragrances. And I received the Floss clear gloss in a previous box. And ANOTHER black eyeliner possibility…. just no.

    • I’m not big into foam either but I absolutely love Rituals. It’s my favorite brand. Although I will say they always sent out Sakura (cherry blossom scent) or Ayurveda (indian rose/sweet almond) which are my least favorite scents from them. I wish they would send out Happy Buddha or Karma which are the best smelling scents ever! Again, Rituals is my number 1 brand.

      • I’m with you. I would love one of the lesser know scents. I think the box is just fine with 3 full size products. I don’t understand chronic malcontent-ism! Lol

  13. I hope for the Rituals, lemon cream and Mamonde serum. I just got the Floss lip gloss in Glossybox. I don’t even use those.

  14. Lue was also in a previous monthly box

    • That’s what I thought. People were upset because their container wasn’t full.
      I still haven’t tried mine.

    • I’ve already received 3 of these items through Allure in the past year. I’ll be pissed if I get them again, especially since.I wasnt impressed by any of them. I do not subscribe to these boxes to stock up on samples sized items. I get them to try out new products. I have no idea if they take into consideration the products they have already sent you like Ipsy and Boxy do so you shouldn’t recieve the same product twice.

      • Same here! I didn’t want the Lue, clear Floss lip gloss, UD pencil in zero, or the rose water toner the first time I received them. I definitely don’t want them again less than a year later. I think I’m going to skip March, that’s too many repeats.

      • I disagree. I quit Ipsy years ago for sending so many of the same products over and over and over and very few high quality brands. I’ve had some repeats with Allure over the 7-8 years I’ve subbed off and on but relatively few. They have been into momonde a lot this past year but at least I’ve gotten different products from the line. If I ever see another smash box primer in any sub again (Ipsy fav) I will lose my mind! Lol

  15. Please let me get the eyeliner instead of the Rituals. I really don’t like Rituals. Or foam products.

    • I love the box!

  16. Not for me this month, pausing.

  17. I was really excited for this box until I saw all the variations. I think I’m going to hold off until I see what other Amazon subscribers get. If we get the Dr. Botanicals and the Floss gloss in an actual color, then I’ll for sure pick it up. I will say, this is a nice variety of products.

    • Do all Amazon subs get the same box?

      • Hi Jenn, yes they do contain the same items. I cancel every month on Amazon and resubscribe if I like the contents. I don’t like subscribing through Allure as it would be so difficult to stop and start a sub.

  18. I actually love the Floss lip gloss that we received in a previous box! I won’t mind having a back up or a different color!

    • I didn’t like the scent.

  19. One would think that they would take a lesson from other subscriptions…variation is way too much! Now I will agree, there are some great products here, but how many will actually get them..Oh vey! I saw that word OR and cringed! Nope, not doing it!

    • True

      • Especially when the variations are the main reason people are skipping and canceling.

  20. this is a so so box. if I knew for sure I would get the shower foam instead of the eyeliner, I would go for it. but my luck always gives me eyeliners or lipliners – neither of which I use

  21. I “think” all of the “or” products have been in previous boxes.

    • I’m sick of the or this or this option and I still haven’t heard anything about my February box while others that got them from amazon already have theirs

      • I’m still waiting on mine from Amazon too. Tracking says it should arrive between Feb 19 – Feb 24.

        • I thought I had canceled my Amazon sub, but mine’s supposed to hit about that same time frame. too.

And my regular sub I’m hoping will be here by the weekend, but with the snow, it probably won’t.

    • I think you’re right. I have received all of the ors before. Hopefully new subscribers who b’s tried them already will get them, and we’ll get something new.

  22. I loved the box until I saw all the “or”. Not taking my chance on the or’s because I’ll most definitely receive them. Too bad too because I loved this box.

  23. Isn’t the LUE product the same one they sent out last spring that was intentionally sent half-empty?

    • Yes it is.

    • How do you know it was intentionally?

      • the product is sent by weight, not by how much fits in the container.

    • YES! And I have been trying to get rid of it since..sheesh..come on ALLURE!

      • Because there is a chance some of us could recieve products, including a full size, of products Allure has already sent in the past year. If it was some type of amazing product, I might be cool with it but I just got that lip gloss in July and I’ve used it twice. I’ve also recieved the cleansing powder and mamonde toner through them since I’ve been subscribed since March 2019. So I’m just hoping I dont get those in my variation but if this is going to become a habit, I will cancel. I dont need doubles. I’m in the sub game to try new products.

    • It was also in the Black Friday Winter Essentials Bundle.

  24. So glad I know the full spoilers so I can cancel without FOMO.

  25. I think this is a great box with 3 full size products! I mean c’mon, what’s to complain about. Really?

    • Repeat product, cheap brands and weird variations. What is happening to Allure box?! I mean we got Olay in the February box, this is drug store crap. Not the luxury beauty they promise.

  26. I just noticed that one of the variants is a shower gel OR an eye pencil?? 🙄

At least the others are all in similar categories.

    • I agree… I don’t understand why beauty sub boxes do this. If you’re going to have a variation, at least have one in the same general category.

      • Or at least give us the option to choose what kind of products we want in general!

      • My first reaction was too many variants. But then I reconsidered. The mascara, which everyone will get full-sized, has positive reviews and the RV is $18. So that alone is more than the cost of the box. I wear mascara every day and like to try new brands.

And I loved the Lue cleansing powder from the May Allure box- my skin feels so clean and soft after using it. I watched a video on the Evolue website on using it. He mixed it right in his palm, no measuring anything. Easy. I hope I get it again. But if not, the Dr. Botanicals rescue butter sounds great too. And I love Mamonde. So I’m in, and think it’s actually quite a good box.

  27. The Mamonde toner and cleanser are both repeats from last year, so is the urban decay eyeliner and Floss lipgloss in Yul. Are they just trying to get rid of old stuff?

    • The lip gloss is in color LAX.

      • If you look at the full product list it says LAX or YUL.

    • Just because subs have repeat products as last year, doesn’t necessarily mean they are trying to get rid of old stock. I mean it could be. But it’s also possible they got new stock.

  28. Glad I cancelled. Not impressed.

  29. This looks like a great box to me! I’d love to get it, but I need to pause all sub boxes for a few months to save money and whittle down product overload. Gotta stay strong!

    • The Lue product is kind of a joke. My daughter had excema as a child and I would grind oatmeal in my coffee grinder for her baths. Later, when my other daughter had acne as a teen, I would add lavender flowers to the oatmeal for a soothing and gentle exfoliating facial scrub. Then she started making it for her friends. It was popular… and almost free.

      • Neat!

Do you have the recipe up on line somewhere?

        • Doesn’t seem like there’s much of a “recipe.” Just grind up some dry oatmeal and lavender flowers and I bet it would work! 🙂

  30. I wish there weren’t that many variations. It’s not bad box to me. I skipped February. Really hoping I get dr. Botanicals and not powder cleaner

  31. Too many ‘or’.

  32. No FOMO March Box! yay! 😇

  33. A very boring box, IMO. 🧐

  34. I don’t need this. I never wear black eyeliner or mascara. I got the floss, 2/3 of the Mamonde, and the powder cleanser last year. It’s too soon for so many repeats.

    • Thats why I cancelled. Already getting travel size repeats
