I got my box but it was missing several products. Feeling pretty disappointed. Has anyone dealt with their customer service?

Luna

I once was missing a hair product from a past box, and I contacted them asking them to send the missing product to me, and they got back to me in a decent amount of time (I can’t recall exactly how long since it one or two years ago, but it wasn’t anything that made me think they were ignoring me) and they apologized and stated they’d be sending the missing product. I received it in less than one week. I’m really sorry to hear that your box was missing several products. I really hope they rectify the situation promptly.

Reply ButtonReply

Allison

I was also missing an item, the LaLa Leaf Lip Balm. I reported the problem, but didn’t ask for a replacement. Their CS eventually got back to me (after about 5 days) and said they would be sending a replacement.

Kim

I would love to spilt this box with someone mainly looking for the facial products – I’m primarily interested in the body care and health & wellness items. If interested, let me know! 😊

Reply ButtonReply

Carey

Hey Kim, I’m mostly looking for the skincare products so maybe we can work something out??

My email to use is justmecarey gmail

Thanks

If anyone wants to swap their Nutrafol, look me up on the swap board! I’m following other Nutrafol on the board.

The packaging for some of this stuff is so fancy…. i’m excited to try this stuff. But what the hell is a body serum for? Before and after sun exposure and no Spf? So confused. Guessing a glorified moisturizer?

I didn’t realize that i wanted a meditation bowl until i got this. It’s pretty darn awesome.

Allison

My box came yesterday! It must weigh 20 lbs. Usually, I’ll put some items from this ‘Best of’ up for swaps, but this time I actually look forward to trying every single thing!

Reply ButtonReply

Ashley

Omg I just noticed the Little Moon Essentials products name is Ass Kisser hahahahaha I don’t know which is funnier, ass kisser or vagina gym 😂😂

Carey

Here’s an answer to one of many questions above- This is from the order form-

This box is a careful curation of some of the most impressive brands across several categories that EXHIBITED at our IBE 2019 shows.

So I take it that is isn’t just the “Winners”. This makes MUCH more sense. lol

I’ve had the notifications set up for this for the last month and a half, I was expecting maybe $200 TOPS but was surprised at the $300 price tag. $225 out the door and maybe but $300? I just can’t. lol I’ve got 200 items listed on the swap side and 500, yes. 500 minimum unlisted all in tubs. So yep, I have a problem and this is not the answer. lol

My lucky bag comes this week so I’ll be super happy with that hopefully, I snagged an XL bag. 😀

Reply ButtonReply

Taren

It’s even more than that: $308!!!

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

But under the picture of each product it says “Best …”. 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Suzanne

Thank you Kat S! That’s a lot of work and it makes me feel so much better after splurging in this box to know I’m getting a screaming good deal. I got this box last year and found some small producer products that I adore.

KatS

I didn’t see anyone else do it so I had to do the price breakdown. A few of the prices are guesstimates but it looks like only two products are travel size. The “gym” (vagym?) is normally $130 but is on sale for $110 so I put the lower value in there cuz who’s gonna pay that for that? Also put in the price for the cheapest singing bowl…

First price is retail value and second is the price you are paying based off of my total of $316.39.

I can’t wait to try the $84 toner! 😀

Connie

Thank you so much for doing all this work for us. Glad I purchased.

Reply ButtonReply

SquirrelyGirl

Thanks for doing the breakdown! That was a lot of work for you and I appreciate you doing it!

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

Thanks for the breakdown! At least their claimed value was basically spot on. 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Dea

I’m guessing that this is not the “best of” any more than the editors of Allure “select their favorites” for the beauty box like they claim. They simply write flowery justification prose for whatever free swag the advertisers gave them to put in the box. ipsy makes these silly claims too – “we tested and selected for you…” Right. You took what was given to you and then came up with a rationale retroactively.

I don’t object to promoting a product, only to lying about why that product is there.

Blythe Alpern

This box is actually the winners for the various categories selected from brands that showcased their products at Indie Beauty Expos in 2019. After the finalists were selected, a group of 20 beauty experts, ranging from buyers to editors, picked the winners.

https://indiebeautyexpo.com/bis19_finalists/

Reply ButtonReply

Janet

It doesn’t work like that, at all, actually. For Allure anyway. If advertisers paid for product it would be called out. A bulk of the adverts you see in Allure are from mass beauty brands, which Allure doesn’t allow in the box. Indie Brands usually can’t afford to advertise- at least not in a big way. PR agencies might send their products to editors to test. That’s how it is for everything, not just beauty.

Ashley

I see a few comments about gifting the items from the box that they aren’t interested in. I wonder how one would gift a vagina gym? I can only imagine the reaction of going up to one of my girl friends and saying “hey you look like your vagina could use a workout!” And handing over the box to them LOL

Reply ButtonReply

Annalisa

buwahahahahahahaha!!!

Reply ButtonReply

Christine

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Reply ButtonReply

Amethyst

I know my vagina could use a work out. 😉

That being said, I know that a lot of people are making fun of this, and I haven’t looked into the product to see what it really does, but it does say something about Kegel exercises, which are very common and have been around for years. Doctors often prescribe them to help with urinary incontinence as well as to tighten those vaginal muscles to make sex more pleasurable. So while I think the “gym” and the weights and all might be a bit much and not that appealing to many of us, the idea behind it isn’t new.

Reply ButtonReply

Ashley

I’m definitely not dissing kegel exercises or anything, I know they’re helpful to a lot of people. And I don’t think anyone here is really making fun of them, I think it’s more of not expecting to see a vagina gym/kegel exerciser in a subscription box. That’s more of a personal item you would buy yourself or receive from you gyn/sex therapist not one that would come in a subscription box, well unless the box is specifically for sexual wellness/pleasure.
I do think it’s a great idea and a great item for those that feel they need it, it’s just funny to see it pop up in something like this lmao

Allison

Thank you for pointing this out! Anyone who’s ever been pregnant can also speak to the value of Kegels!

Frankly, I’m stunned so many people on here have never heard of kegel weights. It’s not like they’re anything new. And this set is $130! (That’s 3 times what I paid for mine!)

Luna

lol! I don’t THINK I’d use it, but I never know, and I think I’ll be keeping it stored away for awhile. I’m sure I’ll forget all about it though, and discover it 5 years from now and be like, “where the heck did I get this!??!” lol
But ya… I’ve definitely received a few intimate products from boxes that I’d never use, and would feel very awkward for me to give to a specific person (even if I think they might use it… but sometimes it’s like, how do I start that conversation? lol), so I always put them in a giveaway bag that I let a couple of co-workers have at it at year-end, and last year there was a menstrual cup in it, and my 60-something year old co-worker snatched it up to give to a friend for her 70th birthday. lol!

Reply ButtonReply

Mary

They still have the discovery bags available for $195. plus shipping ($15 for me). This is not the box that everybody is discussing but is a 15+ pound bag of 50+ samples so it is a bit of a mystery what will arrive. A cheaper for those on the fence.

melissa

LOL – you made me gut laugh! Thank you!

LMBO! at the 60 year old snag.. .

I haven’t heard of any of these projects save one: the Whish mud mask. I’m surprised to see it was voted best face mask but I guess I’m alone in being disappointed by that product. Could someone tell me the purpose of a singing bowl?

The vagina gym comments have really brightened my day. Thanks ladies!

Reply ButtonReply

Leslie

Don’t know a lot about singing bowls, but I think they are used for healing and meditation. The sound the bowl makes when tapped emits a positive frequency and vibration. We are bombarded with harmful frequencies from our cell phones, wifi, etc. and listening to good frequencies like music at 432 hz can help reset the brain and boost mental and physical health.

Reply ButtonReply

AP

This looks like a lot of great products, and I was ready to jump with the $50 discount coupon…but I missed it. I have so much product overload that I just can’t justify $323 PLUS whatever they’re going to add on for shipping, for a bunch of products I don’t need. Like vagina weights and beard oil. Somehow I could justify to myself spending $50 less for stuff don’t need, LOL…but I just can’t do it at full price!

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

Code FIRST50 no longer works, but for those that still want it, it’s currently showing as free shipping right now. 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Ashley

Wait…vagina gym? What in the world?! Has anybody here ever used one? I understand doing kegel exercises but I can’t imagine lifting weights with your vagina?!

Reply ButtonReply

Connie

I get this box every year and have never been disappointed. Did not purchase some Advent calendars waiting for the release. I was charged $25.90 for shipping so not sure why.

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

I actually emailed IBE about this because I noticed that shipping was free when the code wasn’t used, and they said the code could only work on reducing the cost of the box, but not shipping. So I guess we all get a “break” one way or the other? Well, at least using the code was still the “cheaper” option. 😉

Reply ButtonReply

kim

I was 100% sure I was going to buy this, I had set aside the money to do so. But I made the mistake of going thru my stash last night in my closet to organize and was mortified with how much product I have. So now I feel guilty spending $300 on 39 more products. Feeling very torn, but I don’t want to miss the $50 discount (which essentially covers shipping and taxes)… someone talk me down lol

Reply ButtonReply

Julie

Go through your stash and see what of these products you already own. I’ve seen quite a few in cheaper sub boxes and fff sales. Also wrote down each product and decide how much you would pay for it if you saw it at the store and would be happy at that price with. Then do the math. I usually love the deal till I realize I wouldnt purchase most of these items even at a steep discount.

Reply ButtonReply

Alice

Kim, you don’t need any of this. Place the money into savings/retirement IRA. You’re welcome!

Reply ButtonReply

Mary

I’m with Amber. There will always be another deal. Keep the $250 in savings, use up what you have in the closet and when the time is right, pull out the money to buy something that really makes your heart sing. 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

tpop

There will always be more stuff. Take the money and have a new experience that you will remember longer than any product!

Reply ButtonReply

amber

Welllll, if you’re already mortified with how much you have to get through, just save that $250 and put it towards something else that makes you happy! I am always talking myself out of buying things I see on here. I just don’t need it, with the box of products I have yet to even open.

Reply ButtonReply

Nat

LOL, Vagina gym. It’s a no from me

Reply ButtonReply

Lizc

If I ever get my product overload in control, maybe I’ll reward myself with this. Of course the likelihood that I’ll ever get my overload in control is so unlikely, …….

Reply ButtonReply

Allison

Why is it charging me $24.95 for shipping??

Reply ButtonReply

Michelle

Well…if I have too much product to justify buying a discount Advent calendar or holiday LE, then I definitely have too much to purchase this!

Reply ButtonReply

Apricot

Same. Also, I’m not personally wowed with most of these “best of” picks. I’d rather spend $300 on items I’m truly coveting.

Reply ButtonReply

AP

Agree. My guess is that these aren’t truly “the best of”, but rather they pick from whoever will give them a bunch of free or greatly reduced price product in exchange for the exposure. Many of the brands aren’t what I’d consider “Indie”, either…I mean, Whish and SpaRituals seem pretty mainstream…

That being said…there are a lot of brands I haven’t heard of…which to me is the idea behind “Indie”.

Alice

No way for me. That money stays in my savings. I do plan on retiring!

Kathy Piccini

Agreed! Ive never even REMOTELY heard if at least 2/3 of these brand names and I shop a LOT. Best of the UK maybe? Super easy pass for me too.

Luna

I’ve been checking the link since last week, and when I checked first thing this morning, I got it (with the discount, yay!) without knowing what’s in it (I always have faith in IBE’s curation, so I feel safe doing so), and now that I looked at MSA’s post that lists all the products, I can’t wait to get my box.! I can tell some items will be gifted, but what I’ll keep is still worth it. 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

KarenG

Hi Luna! I haven’t been on the site in forever and I was on so much product overload that I didn’t buy any of the advent calendars. I knew I was going to buy this! Yes, it’s speedy but I’ve loved every single collection I’ve purchased. I also got the discount. Can’t wait to get it!

Happy New Year! 🎉🎉🎉

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

Hi Karen! I was wondering where you’ve been! 🙂 I hope you’re doing well, and you enjoy the box! 🙂 This is definitely a nice box to treat yourself to after being good over the holidays with no advent calendars 😉

Ella

Yikes! This is a car payment.

I’d fork out $135 maybe but not when I’ve never heard of most of these brands.

I mean sure they were lauded at some event but I’ve never heard of that event either.

It smacks of price gouging and is counting on consumers riding on every trend and FOMO.

I mean when was the last time anyone thought to themselves that their vagina was unfit and the surest answer was to invest in a weight lifting kit for it. Really?! Will this enable me to tow a truck after?

Reply ButtonReply

Lauren

Exactly, my actual car payment is 294$. And I like my car more than I need beard oil.

Reply ButtonReply

Amanda Raquel

I gots me a Tow hitch! 😂😂😂

Reply ButtonReply

Linda

Tow a truck… 🤣🤣🤣🤣
