Does anyone know what color the MAC gloss will be in box #2?

I’m not certain, but it looks a lot to me like Love Child, which has been sent out as samples in sub boxes before.

Thank you 😊

Jen

My ideal box would have been one thing from each category LOL I hate being so indecisive.. what to do what to do.. I am hair model for Davines so I can get their products pretty easily so I will probably get points *sigh* But this would have been my perfect box..

Choice – Momo S/C set
Box 1 – Candle
Box 2 – All in One milk spray
Box 3 – Kiehl’s
Box 4 – CEO Glow

I wonder if they will ever do a “spotlight on Davines” set like they do with Oribe. ?? I would snatch them up in a second!! Davines and their products are hair-life changing and the company is just as amazing. Definitely worth recognition and promotion IMO Look for a Davines salon near you if you haven’t tried them before- you will not regret!

Luna

I would snatch that up in a heartbeat! 🙂

I haven’t subscribed to Birchbox since they changed the points a couple of years ago but I clicked through out of curiosity and a lot of these samples were things I had gotten from them in the past. Some of them I even like (Davines Oi) but there’s not much new here for me.

I had done the same. I recently resubscribed during a promotion, and it has not been worth it. The curated boxes are somewhat better than the un-curated, but the stronger curated boxes become unavailable too quickly during the selection window. One month I ended up choosing an OK full size product instead, and last month I ended up taking the “points” option (which I have yet to use) instead. I find it very aggravating to log on, choose a box during the previews (last month my choice was the Oribe box), and then when the window for selection opens log on (at an inconvenient time, as I am on Pacific Time) only for that box to be not available. I will not be renewing. Not worth the $ or the hassle for what you get (and don’t get).

Out of all those choices, all that interests me are the Oribe Dry Texture spray and R+CO High dive, but they’re in different boxes. I guess I’ll be swapping for points. It’s a sad way to use a subscription, IMO.

I’m planning to swap this month, too. The fragrance set looks ok but last month my perfume sample broke in transit and made a huge mess of broken glass and perfume al over and they wouldn’t replace my box. I’m staying away from those glass vials now!

I no longer subscribe to Birchbox, but the Davines Ol Milk is ANAZING. I air dry my “old” color-treated hair and this is a must after towel-drying for me.

AMAZING… see what happens when you get old…

I’m leaning toward box #4, primarily for the Sunday Riley (plus I’d use everything else in the box), but I’m also leaning toward picking the Davines shampoo & conditioner because I’ve loved everything from Davines I’ve tried and those shampoo samples last me quite a few uses. I’ll most likely pick the SR though… it’s always hard for me to choose a hair product over skincare… but really Birchbox is the only way I ever get a hold of Davines, so…

This is my final box in my annual, and I lost my Ace status, so I think the only thing that could bring me back is a decent gwp (like those Hers vitamins they had not too long ago) or a discount to bring the boxes down to at least $10/box for non-Aces.

Emma

I lost my Ace status, too, and then I added up my spending for last year and it was like $290 or something. But there’s no way for Aces to track that because your status bar just says “YOU’RE AN ACE.” Between that, them constantly expiring my points too early, at least two of my boxes being shipped ultra late, and all these repeats, I cancelled last week … and I have zero regrets.

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

I added up my 2019 spending in December to see how much I had left to spend and to see if it felt worth it to stay an Ace, but my only spending was the annual sub and one small purchase (I think it was a kit), so I still had around $150 or so to go, and I was like, “I’m good”. 🙂 I think Birchbox has a great selection of products, but to get my coin I need a really bomb incentive like awesome gwps, multi-point offers, awesome point system, etc…. basically what Ulta does. 😉

jenn

i wish i traveled as much as birchbox sends me travel sized shampoo/conditioners. how un-exciting for the month of valentine’s day! this is the time i usually get away with adding an extra box or add-ons bc it’s my valentine’s present. i cancelled, after a great december and january, the tocca candle and small oribe perfume sample isn’t enough to entice me, rest are all repeats and i probably already have every shade of the loc eyeshadow from the add-on surprise or previous boxes.

Marion

Hmmm. I’ll have to think about this! I like that they have some new stuff, but it’s mixed in with all the old stuff I’ve already tried!

The Tocca Montauk candle smells REALLY good, so that’s tempting.

Nothing is really jumping out at me, so it will probably be another “swap for points” month for me. I did do a little research, though:
1. The candelina in box 1 sells for $20 on the Montauk site. I didn’t check to see what Birchbox sells it for or if they even offer it separate from the box.
2. As someone else mentioned, the LOC eye shadows are on sale. They say full price is $36, but when I add them to my cart, it gives a $10.80 discount, making it only $24.20, which I guess is ok for a $10 box. But I’ve already received them in at least a couple colors. To me they are too plain or neutral. I like liquid shadow, but give it some real color and glitz!

Ashley

I am trying my hardest to figure out the size of the candle. It looks too small to be a 3 oz “candelina” when you compare the size to the sleep spray. It more closely resembles one of my tiny 1.23 oz diptyque candles in size comparison so the retail value may not be there.

I just canceled my sub based on the spoilers.
Birchbox needs to send out better sized items!

These are very nice selections.

I may be in the minority, but I enjoy fragrance samples in sub boxes, so am thrilled with box #1. I also like the idea of the Arizona fragrance as a sample choice, just wish it wasn’t so teeny tiny. It’s one of my favorite scents and is so expensive! Hard choice this month…..

Dea

The full-size shadow set for me. All the rest look “yawn”, or there’s only one item in each box that I’d like. Now, if only I can learn how to deal with liquid shadows… Maybe YouTube can teach me.

I usually just skip over Birchbox because it looks like things I have received years ago when I had an annual subscription ,BUT I have to say I am really liking all the options and would love curated box#1

That fragrance box is really interesting. I am probably more interested in box 2 because I am a makeup junkie. I was hoping for a more cutesy heart-type box for this month, although I guess that’s probably not for everyone.

That full-size option has been in the clearance section of their site for between 50 to 70% off. They must not be able to get rid of it! Given that I already have three of those shades, it’s not really a good option for me.
