I was notified of my Jan box shipping on Jan 11th and it arrived today. Yay!

WHOA! I can’t believe I didn’t know about this box! I’m tempted to cancel my Ipsy subscription! I’m bummed I missed the hot tools promo.

Reply ButtonReply

melissa

I cancelled ipsy months ago because Sephora Play was better for skincare stuff (which is essentially all i want/need as makeup lasts me a loooong time). Then the Sephora Play January box sent me a bunch of crap i won’t use and i looked into allure and holy heck, if every box is like this month’s, I’ve got it made! I cancelled sephora and signed up for allure today so here’s hoping i’m right! 🙂

Lynda

I have subscribed to Allure for a year now and have always been very satisfied with the product I receive. There may be one or two things once in awhile (not every month) that are just not my thing but overall I am very happy with allure. I hope you are too!

Dawna

I was subscribed to Allure for a couple of years but canceled for a few months. I got tired of the variations and getting the bottom of the barrel. I signed up for this box because of the skincare. The variation is a product I won’t use.
At the same time I decided I was on product overload and decided to scale back on subscriptions. But, the only one I didn’t give up is Ipsy.

For those who got the Hot Tools promo – check your spam folder! 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Beckie Siers

Do you recall who the email was from? I signed up but haven’t gotten the email yet. Thanks!

Reply ButtonReply

MK

What’s the Hot Tools promo??

Reply ButtonReply

Annette

i ordered yesterday with the hottools promo code,t he order seemed to go through, i didnt get an email confirmation either but I checked the order info on the hottools site and my order says on hold??? anyone else???

Reply ButtonReply

Katie P

Check your spam folder! That’s where my email was 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Jess

When I placed my order, my welcome account email, order confirmation and everything went to straight to spam also.

Reply ButtonReply

Annette

i just called, they said the order went through and should get tracking number within a day or 2!! Yeah!!! I hope that is so!!!

Reply ButtonReply

jenn

regarding the hot tools promo, i went and ordered it, got an order #, but wasnt able to screenshot it before it flipped… i keep checking my email to see if i got a receipt and i have nothing! i tried to reset my password and it didnt let me do that either. anyone else have this happen?

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole

I ordered successfully, received email confirmation that indicated the order would take a couple days to process at which time they will send a shipping email. Have you checked your spam?

Reply ButtonReply

Del

Same, it never let me logged into the account I created while checking out, and I never got an order confirmation..I called in and they were able to see my order and provide my tracking number.

Reply ButtonReply

Del

Def check your spam cause my first order went through fine, found it in spam folder but the one I placed for my mom never came in…its weird. Maybe the glitch that was mentioned 🤔

mtvb

I also ordered the tool successfully but have not received an email confirmation. 🤷🏻‍♀️

My account on the Hot Tools’ website shows the order as “pending” (I opened an account with them so I can track this order). I’m relieved the order shows up somewhere but I’d feel better if I had a confirmation or, better yet, the tool in my hands. 👍

I didn’t have issues with my password, though.

Reply ButtonReply

mtvb

Just got a FedEx tracking number when I checked the Hot Tools account. I never received an email (not even junk) but I’m thrilled it’s finally shipped!!

Lynda

Does anyone know if everyone got this promo or was it just a random selection?

Denise Atkinson

For some reason my old amazon restarted all by itself and I’m getting one next week. Don’t know what’s coming but I’ll see I guess

Reply ButtonReply

Jess

I just got my Dec box today with the Hot tools coupon and ordered the Hot Tools with the coupon code and it worked $0.00 (no taxes) free shipping and didn’t have to provide a credit card or anything. But I was also charged for the Jan box for $10.60 which I also thought was weird.

Reply ButtonReply

melissa

i got my box yesterday too. where was the coupon? if it was in the pamphlet with the makeup product discount codes i missed it.

Reply ButtonReply

mtvb

For me, it was between the shrink wrap and the box, right under the shipping label.

Kimberly Smith

I was charged $10.98. The difference may be do to local tax plus $10. Because they charge $10 for magazine subscriptions, I wonder if their system is messing up and charging us for the magazine subscriptions instead that we did not authorize the purchase of?

Reply ButtonReply

Mika

I too was charged today for the January box, but, haven’t received the December box from the Hot Tools deal. And have no notifications in my inbox or spam containing any tracking info. Plus Allure’s website is a mess, I’ve used three email accounts over the past four years with them and their system can only find one account but has it listed as discontinued.
Guess I’ll be on hold with Allure tomorrow to cancel which ever account they can find. So I won’t continue to be charged for two accounts

Reply ButtonReply

Cj

I signed up in December for the hair tool. Today they billed me for Jan & it’s another $10.60 I thought it would be $15 for my second box I’m so confused. Wonder when we will get the dec box?

Reply ButtonReply

Emma

Yes, me too! I was wondering the same thing. I’m happy as long as I actually get December with the hair tool gift. The only reason I finally subscribed because I wanted to give it to my mom as a gift. Guess we will see.

Reply ButtonReply

M

I just spoke with allure to cancel my subscription and had the most pleasant experience. No wait time on time phone, received a full refund for the January box, even though I was charged yesterday. And, I’ll still be receiving the January box!!!! Unbelievable customer service today.
New year, New Allure????
Thanks Allure

Jill M

If the new member gift of caudelie was in the box, I’d be a happy camper, but I’m gonna cancel

Reply ButtonReply

Marcia

Allure is now on Git City for $29 – Which makes no sense. I emailed customer service and they agreed it’s 15 a month usually and didn’t understand this deal”.

Does anyone have Any insight what this is about?

Thanks.

Reply ButtonReply

Brit

The Gilt City deal is for a 3-month subscription (comes out to ~$10/month)

Reply ButtonReply

Marcia

Brit,
Thank you so much! Their customer service had no idea.

If anyone else really loves caudalie products like me, Anthropologie has a great set on sale for $20.97 which includes a full size of their exilir spray and two minis. The spray alone retails for $49 so it’s a steal!! I bought 3!!!!

If you call Anthropologie, they will waive the shipping fees! They even offered me free expedited shipping!!

Cheers y’all

IVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO SIGN ON EVEN W/ MY “ACCT #”…THEIR ENTIRE SYSTEM IA SCREWED UP! FROM EMAILS TO CS TO NOT HONORING COUPONS! THEY’RE GOOD BUT THEY SEEM TO LACK APPRECIATION OF THEIR OWN CUSTOMERS!

Reply ButtonReply

Tara

Yep. I haven’t been able to log in since November with that same error

Reply ButtonReply

Don’t forget the the skin on your arms, legs and bum’s also need exfoliating and are typically way less sensitive. For this who do not use ExfoliKate on your face, try your arms. Apply the exfoliator a few minutes prior to showering. Moisturize after. You will love it! That’s what I do with all the random exfoliators we receive. The skin on my arms is baby soft. And as I have aged, using it on my legs has virtually eliminated the little rough patches trying to become barnacles.

Reply ButtonReply

Amanda Gray

Fantastic idea…my skin is very dry….I’m going to try it like that

Reply ButtonReply

Rabeckie

Great idea! I tried the exfoliate, and it burned my face too much to use again. I’m going to give it a try on my other rough patches and see if it works.

Reply ButtonReply

Kate N.

Thanks for the suggestion! My face is so sensitive…the rest of me, not so much!!

Reply ButtonReply

Dea

I must be the only sub box client (patient?) who has never received a sample of ExfoliKate. Not I’m not a fan of peels. Is it a scrub?

Reply ButtonReply

Amanda Gray

Me too 😊

Reply ButtonReply

Dawna

I have used DermaE & Dr. Brandt. Any comparison???

Rosette

It’s more like a scrub / mask. You rub it on certain areas of your face, wait 1-2 minutes depending on how sensitive your skin is, then wash it off. It might slightly sting the first time but that’s normal. You use it once a week, otherwise you might dry out your face. Leaves your skin really smooth.

Don’t use it after using oils, shaving any area of your face, & ofc not on any open wounds (ie. Pimples). It’s safe to use but can definitely chemically burn you if used with oils & can damage skin on open wounds.

Reply ButtonReply

Dawna

Thank you so much for writing this! I have some other products I’ve gotten from subs, Dr. Brandt & Dermae. Usually once a week and also once a week chemical peel. Juice Beauty or Hey Honey. I’m loosing hair everywhere and it’s permanent. I can cover bald patches on my head, but, when there’s bald patches on your face, it’s so easy to see when I wear makeup. Everybody has peach fuzz and if there are bald spots, makeup applies and looks different. Waxing ends up causing damage that takes as long to heal as the waxing lasts. 🙄 Hair removal creams BURN!!! So, I took the doctor’s advice and the cosmetologist’s advice and started shaving where I want on my face. When I do exfoliate, it’s usually at night. But, I will definitely be careful with this one.

Julia

It’s a scrub that you leave on for two minutes. For me, it does leave my skin a bit red at first but very soft and plump after. It has either cinnamon or clove, I believe. Obviously, that is irritating for some skin types. I’d patch test first😊

Linda

I wish this box was still available to subscribers via Amazon (speaking strictly of people who have cancelled this box through Amazon and have re-upped in the past or those who want to sub through Amazon as Allure’s website makes it more difficult to cancel). I am guessing current subscribers can still subscribe through Amazon. I wish Allure understood that I and many others do not want to e-mail or call a phone number to unsubscribe. If this has changed (and their website makes it easy to unsubscribe at a later date if a person wants to), I would love to know. Would like this box as it is mostly devoted to skincare, but will stick with my other sub if that’s not the case. The ease of cancelling is an allure. I don’t like being offered $10 / 4 months when I call their phone number in the past. It is just unnecessary with the advancement in technology. Many subscription boxes make it easy to pause or cancel, which was also an allure of the Amazon service.

Reply ButtonReply

missy

hi,
I not sure when you last tried but I subscribed directly though allure for november and had no issues cancelling online in my account.. didn’t need to call or email. I see a lot of people complaining about that about allure but I’ve never had that issue.

Reply ButtonReply

Jennifer

I wonder in part if they do this because their gift offers are so generous, and they give the new member gift even to old subs who resubscribe. If cancelling was super easy and could be done online, people could take advantage of that and just be cancelling and resigning every month or two to keep getting the new member gifts.

Having to email at least means someone needs to pause and think it over. It bugs me to – I would prefer the online option – but it really only takes a few minutes to send the email, and they always get back within a day or two. I decided it’s more a reflection of my desire for instant gratification than any real problem on their part.

I do think, however, they need to make the email for cancelling more clear (like in their FAQ) – I emailed the wrong one once! Fortunately they sent me the right email, but still. I did feel like I had to hunt that down rather than it be clearly explained.

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole

They have an 800 customer service line you can call to cancel immediately when you want to. I always cancel by phone, it only takes a couple minutes and their reps are really friendly.

Rosette

It’s still available to buy through Amazon. December Allure sold out, so it won’t show up on Amazon right now until Jan 1st.

Reply ButtonReply

Linda

Thanks for letting me know. 🙂

bunnygirlbrem

I think it’s not available YET because it’s not January yet.

Reply ButtonReply

bunnygirlbrem

I think it’s not available on Amazon YET because it’s not January yet.

Reply ButtonReply

JesCro

It was available through Amazon earlier this month, but sold out on Amazon and Allure. I think it will be available on Amazon again in January.

Reply ButtonReply

NANCY

I will use all of these products. I can’t wait to try the lip restoration!

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole

Same!!!! I wish we would receive more lip treatments too! I only got one this past year and it was the Laniage (which I love more than life) from Allure…wait, was that even in 2019, or was that fall of 2018? See…we need lip treatments more frequently! 😂 I’ve never gotten one from Ipsy or Boxy either.💁

Reply ButtonReply

Dot

Me too love lip product like that since I don’t get many in other sub boxes 🥰

Reply ButtonReply

h

Before I ask, I know that it is unpredictable and no one ever knows what will happen or show up, but it looks like there is a charge for $10.45 from Conde Nast Subscriptions (which, I don’t have any Conde Nast subscriptions), so I assume it’s the Allure December Box with the voucher.

Does that sound reasonable to assume? I know when one assumes, it makes an *** out of me.

Reply ButtonReply

amber

Yes, Allure shows up as Conde Nast

Reply ButtonReply

maria

I do not like the January box. If I cancel my sub, now will I still get the December box that I signed up for lats week or will that one get cancelled too? Thanks!

Reply ButtonReply

SunnyT

I canceled once to avoid being charged for the next months box before receiving shipping notification for the month I did want. They canceled my entire order.
My advice is call if you want to avoid January but still receive your December box.

Reply ButtonReply

Nat

Did they charge you? If yes, I think you are good. If not, you probably will not get December

Reply ButtonReply

h

Definitely not trying to hijack these posts, but if the Conde Nast charge went through for 10.45 on the 20th of Dec, and they have put in writing that the voucher will be in December boxes, but my box won’t ship for around 20 days, I’m wondering if I will get it or not? I ordered when the pop up was there, when December was still in stock. Not to be a pain or anything. I’m just so confused.

Daisy

Allure is odd. If you cancel before your box ships, you will NOT receive it. Furthermore, you will have to call to receive your refund.

That was my experience.

Coco

Looks like a good one. And the only variant will be the Tarte mascaras? Great! I hope Allure has finally wised up to the fact that most of their subscribers don’t want variation boxes.

Reply ButtonReply

Daisy

They’ve done several boxes with no variation. I’m sure they will still do boxes with.

Reply ButtonReply

xxAxx

Hi! It’s my first time getting Allure Beauty Box. I just signed up last Dec. 16th, am I getting the December box or January? Appreciate your response. Thanks! 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Sammee

Unless Allure sells out, which is very rare, you’ll get the box of the month you signed up in. Once I signed up on the last day of the month thinking I was safe, but my subscription still started with that month’s box. Not happy but I learned my lesson 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Daisy

They were sold out of December as of yesterday. I think the response to the $75 hair tool for new subscribers was big.

Jackie

Probably December will be your first box.

Reply ButtonReply

Dawna

Finally! A box I want. I wish they would quit with the variations, but at least this time, it’s pretty fair. I have not been subscribed for several months. I used the link for the free sign up gift. Fingers crossed… Their website did state that due to popular demand, they are sold out of the December box. It’s pretty specific that I’m signing up for the January box.

Reply ButtonReply

LEE ANN

The akar contains beeswax for those interested. I’m not necessarily interested in purchasing but I think this is one of the better boxes for them lately.

Reply ButtonReply

Pink5

I’m glad there’s just the one variant.

Hoping for the Amazon mascara. I’ve tried Lights Camera and it’s just okay.

Not a fan of Exfolikate; it burns.

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole

Wow! Lights, Camera is my HG.😊 There are a few out there I really like, but that one takes the cake for me. What’s your favorite, if you don’t mind me asking?

Reply ButtonReply

Pink5

Honestly, I don’t have a HG mascara. I love trying new ones, so I flit from one to another like a total ____.

Sentimental fave is L’Oreal Voluminous.

Carol

Cancelled after the ABH box because I have so much skincare to try already, including a couple of the items in this box lol. It’s funny how quickly my stash grew just from a couple of beauty boxes and GWP at Ulta.
Still, this looks like a good box for someone who wants to try a variety of skincare products.
