  1. Is anyone else still waiting for their October box? It’s October 25 and I haven’t gotten a shipping notice yet. My account page says they are boxing it up for me and it will ship by Oct.10.

  2. Does birchbox always include skincare and hair products, or does filling out your profile allow you to get mostly makeup? I’m consodering subscribing but really only want makeup items

    • You’re lucky to get *one* makeup item per box in Birchbox. And they are typically sample size. ipsy and Play by Sephora get you much more makeup!

  3. I’ve been doing curated boxes for the past few months after getting burned on my last “customized” box, but none of these curations are super exciting to me. I’ll pick the Davines sample.

  4. Can anyone tell me what the point equivalent is if you take that option?

Also…can I just say where can you get a Davines product as one of 6 items for $15? @Birchbox folks, that’s it as far as I know and let me tell you, lol. I used to work for a high-end hair care distributor and this is what all the stylists and colorists want. And of course, ladies like myself that cannot dispute the effect their products have had on our hair.

    • The point equivalent is what you paid per box. Could be $15, could be $8.25. Depends on your subscription. Hope this helps!

  5. Looking a bit better, but there’s still a lot of repeats in there. I only had Birchbox for a year and I already have a lot of that stuff.

  6. I am at month #6 of my 6-month subscription that I was tempted into by a really nice curated box as a free gift (and it was excellent, with full size items and a S’well bottle). It was a 6-month commitment but I could pay month-by-month, which was great. I was planning to move on when it was done, but I think I’m going to stick around. Birchbox was my first subscription box years ago, but I stopped subscribing about a year ago because I felt it was going downhill rapidly.

I think they’ve turned things around nicely and are making a continued effort to improve. I think they need some new brands, but a survey they sent out makes me think they are aware of that and working on it.

I love getting the choice every month of a curated box, sample choice, full-size item, or points (or a box chosen for me, and they did a pretty good job with that on my first month returning). This month I am going to try to get box #1, but if that is gone I’ll go for the blush.

  7. I think I’ll be going for Box #1, primarily for the SR & Davines shampoo. I’ll gift the oil since I don’t like that form of application to my face (eye serums/oils I don’t mind) and I’ll probably gift the mascara since I’m pretty sure I already own it.

  8. It’s not enough to bring me back at that price point, but love that I’m seeing different products! Will definitely be keeping an eye on this box.

  9. It’s a really sad day in history when one (me) considers switching from ipsy to Birchbox!!! I never thought I’d see the day.

    • I would too if birchbox had add ons. Until then, I consider it inferior

  10. Birchbox is killing it this month!! The products are nice, the theme is nice. And you can get a full size Benefit blush instead? When all other boxes seem to be failing (I am talking to you Ipsy and allure), I may have to switch to birchbox for the first time.

  11. There is a pretty good promo code right now “cozysocks” that includes a pair of Bombas & a $5 discount for any length subscription. Too good to pass up for me – I love those socks!

  12. Are we able to tell whether the Wander mascara in Box 1 is full-size? I don’t really see a purpose in selecting it as a sample choice when you can get a box with it and the Sunday Riley in it, unless maybe the mascara in Box 1 is travel size.

I’m really tempted by Boxes 1 and 4. I have tried many of the products before, but I enjoy them. I’m also thinking about what might make good stocking stuffers. I’m also really interested in the Benefit blush. Gah, I don’t know what to do!

    • Some folks can’t use a lot of SR products, and have had bad reactions to them. So I can see why someone would rather just choose the sample.

    • Both of the The Wander Beauty mascaras are full-size. I was able to zoom in on the pics and see 10g 0.32 OZ. Then I looked up the mascara on the site and that’s the size listed.

      • Thanks for sleuthing! Hmm… Box 1 looks really nice. But I also want that blush. Decisions, decisions.

        • Same here! I’m leaning toward box #1 but that blush looks very nice (great packaging, and glittery for the holidays). Usually the curated box I want is gone by the time the Aces have done their early customization, so the decision might be made for me!

      • Lauren, for one of my October month product in birchbox the picture was showing full size but when the box came in it was a tiny sample size. I would not trust pictures again when it comes to Birchbox

        • I just watched the video on Birchbox and the mascara is full-size, whether you choose the sample or the box.

          • That’s cool

  13. October was supposed to be my 2nd box. Signed up end of September and they sent a random September box which I was actually happy with. When the time came, I picked October box that I liked, however, not only I haven’t received it yet, I got an email that they can’t ship me my choice due to some warehouse something. So disappointing. I canceled right away. Looking at these. I am glad

  14. Hi Liz, is there any way you can contact Birchbox to find out when we can expect to receive our October box? Their FAQ section of the website states the boxes were supposed to be sent early last week and that didn’t happen. They haven’t sent me an email with information about when I will receive my October box.

    • I got my tracking email early this morning

      • Me too. My tracking says that my October box will arrive on October 28…

Guess I’ll pick Box 3 for November and hope that they stop the mysterious “warehouse issues”.

      • I’m excited to pick my next box. I signed up, for the first time, 2 months ago for the beachwaver. While it’s only sample products I truly appreciate all the options every month.

As a side note, I received my October box about 10 days ago. (For those asking when they should get theirs.)

        • I also signed up for the Beachwaver and was excited to get in 2 weeks later even though they said it would ship with December’s box. I also got my October box over a week ago.

          • Hannah, did they ship your Beachwaver with the box or separately?

        • I got my box like the first week of October, I believe it was the 7th. Lately I’ve been getting mine really early. But I used to get it mid month.

    • I’d like to know too.
I haven’t gotten an email nor has the website even showed my October pick/box etc. It just shows September. I emailed customer service and no response. I guess I can email agian 🙄

      • No response to my numerous emails, but I was able to use chat feature on their website. They didn’t help me, but i used it

  15. I like it, this might be my first box
