  1. Surprisingly, the roll of paper is my favourite item in this box. The pitcher and carafe would be quite delightful with seasonal foliage! I don’t entertain due to my health (and subsequently my not eating most foods) but this would make a wonderful gift.

    • Melissa, I gifted my sister a box and she was absolutely thrilled!

  2. Lovely, but overvalued/priced. As another poster mentioned, dollar store items could be made just as luxurious to ‘unbox’ with thoughtful collection and giftwrapping and nestled inside a lovely lidded gift box. In fact, I create gifts like this all the time. I guarantee you my gift selections are carefully curated and way under this subscription price. They are very well received. Sometimes do-it-yourself is far, far more satisfying and budget friendly.

  4. I am glad that I cancelled after the summer box. Their Spring 2019 box was amazing and the Summer 2019 box was decent, but this box does not seem to not be worth the cost for me..not even close. I could do without the food items as they always are full of sugar which I try to limit. I end up giving the food items away and am left with very little that I can actually use.

  5. This subscription is too expensive for my budget, but I think it definitely looks like it’s worth the $135 cost. Everything looks to be of good quality and great curation. Would love to see a review sometime!

  6. MSA – thank you so much for posting our Fall Box!

Mostess is a different type of subscription box. We pride ourselves on sourcing handmade and American made products for our members and creating a luxurious unboxing experience. These types of products costs more but they make a difference in the quality and durability of each product.

We also hand gift wrap each item and place them in a 99% recycled, American made box that is reusable. We then waive the $15 shipping fee for members. We consider our product and unboxing experience pure luxury!!

Our Fall Box retails for $183. With a membership you save can save almost 30% off of the retail costs, along with a reusable box!

Thank you for all our our members! We love curating high quality, hand made, and American made products for you.

    • I love this box. Love it. It is my treat to myself. Love free shipping because the boxes are heavy, very heavy! And the unboxing is fun. Class act!!

    • You keep being you Mostess Box! Those of us that love you and subscribe (for the reasons you mention) don’t want you to change a thing!

      • Totally agree with you Aly…I love these boxes and hope they never change. If anyone thinks that they can get the quality of these items at a dollar store, has clearly never gotten a Mostess box. Hey I love Home goods like everyone else, but the quality and curation of a Mostess box can not be matched.
Don’t change Mostess, I realize at this cost, it’s not a box for everyone…but I love it!

        • This had me curious enough to do some basic googling. Mostess did not list brands or sizes for all of the products, so some of these prices are an estimate based on similar products I found.

Pancake mix and syrup: sold as a set for $30 per company website
Wrap: $30-40 depending on size per company website (and assuming Mostess didn’t have a smaller, cheaper version “custom” made).
Stoneware containers: $30 (based on an ironware syrup pitcher being sold for $24.99 on the same site as the pancake mix. That pitcher actually has a handle and looks infinitely more useful than the two cylinders included in the box.)
Table Runner: $3.99 for a 27’ x 13” roll per Party City (I’m guessing Mostess includes a much shorter roll).
Measuring cups: $24.99 (I couldn’t find an exact match that was Made in USA, so I followed the average price on Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, etc.)
Recipes/Decorating Tips: No value (it’s a nice touch, but no one pays me to google. I suppose you could add a dollar or two for the cost of the paper.)

So, I come up with a total value of $119-129. They do manage to get close to the cost of the box, but they’ve got a long ways to go before they hit the $185 quoted in an earlier comment. Too many boxes (and online retailers in general) offer free shipping to hype that as a perk, and while the wrapping is a nice touch, I have a hard time believing it’s $50 worth of nice.

In addition, while these aren’t necessarily “dollar store” products, we all know that Mostess is buying in bulk and isn’t paying retail- I would be very surprised if their costs are more than $50/box, if that.

While I do appreciate that they’re trying to source Made in America products, I think I would still be incredibly disappointed to pay $135 and receive this collection of items (especially the roll of paper!), regardless of how nice the wrapping is.

That being said Mostess is more than welcome to send me this box and try to convince me otherwise. I’ll even write an official review for MSA of my in person opinion! =)

    • I’m curious if they “pride ourselves on sourcing handmade and American made products” then why not promote the brand names or artisans?
It does appear to be nice quality products based on the pictures, but I still think the price is a bit high for what is in the box.

    • Which size is the heirloom wrap, small or medium?

  7. I agree with the posters who say this box is way over priced.

  8. where did my message go??? somewhere in msa cloud to never be seen or heard from again :/

  9. $135 for…pancake mix, syrup, measuring cups, a roll of brown paper, a plain white carafe, blue jean material and some recipes!! They say stationery too but I don’t see any🙄 I will pass.

  10. 135 bucks and one of the items is literally a roll of paper?! The included recipes and decorating tips better be instructions on how to melt down the measuring cups and cash in on the resulting gold plating. I don’t see how the total value of these items can be even half the cost of this box…

  11. My favorite subscription…everything looks great and i am always impressed with the quality of the products.

  12. If this was $50 I would understand but for what is in the box I think it is way over priced. Nice stuff but can be gotten much cheaper.

    • I so agree,
      Like really 110.00
For stuff you can pick up at any local Dollar general
      I’m sorry I’ll pass

      • I’d love to see what the dollar general’s version of any of this looked liked. @@

  13. Way out of my price range.

  14. That’s a lovely box! So perfect , to me, for the season. I always really enjoyed subscribing to this box. I just have too much stuff in my life ( kitchen overflowing !) right now to add more to it and resubscribe, but this box is tempting. Always such a delight to open it!
