My last box was may its litterally the same samples over and over and i wont spend 16.09 on tiny samples every month since they upped there price i spend 5 bucks more and get 5 full size items from ipsy plus and boxcharm is 25. Im not going to spend 16 bucks on tiny samples no matter if its 5 or 6 of them. I dont think they stepped their game up any since the price increase. And i keep getting email to come back and subscribe for 15 when i was essentially getting the same stuff for 11 before. No thanks birchbox your prices now are crazy. Plus one of the excuses for raising the price was faster shipping. That cost should not be raised 5 bucks a customer to get faster shipping that is up to birchbox they should have had better shipping to begin with. Plus its litterally no faster than before.

I have Ipsy and the products are better than what I’ve received with BB. I do like the Limited Edition and Discovery sets that anyone can purchase from their website. I’m canceling the BB sub. Although as a warning…if you go with Ipsy, their shipping is mediocre. Always has been.

LisaFalana

I think I’m just about over BB. This is just shuffled around sample sized repeats.

This is completely ridiculous! Birchbox went up from $10 to $15 for this. All of the items are basically the same. All of these products, are products that you would find in a $10 box. I am so glad that I cancelled my subscription. This is ridiculous. I would never pay $15 for this. Not even $13. Birchbox needs to go back down to $10 a month. Ugh… Sorry but end of rant!!!

ShadowFaerie

I completely agree with you. I see the same exact products shuffled around into different curated box themes. Lots of repeats & often a Birchbox exclusive brand product (I’m not a big fan of the LOC brand and the only thing I like out of the Arrow brand is their double ended eyeliner black/ivory) I don’t use. I’d like to see some more new products in their curations. When the price of my boxes goes above $10, I’m done.

Ok, never mind ended up live chatting with BB about the advertisement that was sent out claiming we’d receive $77.00 worth in points. I was told that the $77.00 was an advertisement mistake. And, that the team is aware of the mistake. If you swap your box in you’ll actually be receiving points in the form of however much your monthly fee is.

Reply ButtonReply

Morgan

They can’t bait and switch without repercussions – advert mistake or not. Never heard of a company their size admitting to that.

Reply ButtonReply

Sarah

When can I sign up for July? I went to re sub but it says get your June box now. Really want box #4

Reply ButtonReply

Lauren

Does anyone know how much $77.00 = to for an ACE? Birchbox sent me an email saying for this month they’re offering us a chance to swap our monthly boxes for points. And, that we’d receive $77 in points. But, no clue what that actually amounts to.

Reply ButtonReply

Taylor

I’m confused, the box doesn’t come with all three of those products, you get to choose one? When I thought the box had all three I was thinking about signing up, but this system is confusing.

Reply ButtonReply

Kirsten

You can chose a curated box, with the samples they have chosen or you can do the sample choice where you pick one of the three offered and your other samples will be a surprise based on your beauty/personal profile, or you can swap for points to spend in the shop. Hope this helps!

So now that I’ve figured out the eye gloss has a short shelf life, a gel pot version of Stilas glitter shadows. I’m like meh on that box. nothing interests me from box 1 or 2. Received almost every sample from both. I like the MAC gloss. But, not gambling on a non curated. Because, tons of people have been reporting leaving up-to chance backfired. And, haha no on swapping for the LOC glosses. So, brings me to box 4… The pink invsibobbles, Clarins mascara and Coola primer are the only things I’m interested in. I’m also always down for Arrows chap stick. But, not feeling N4 or BB don’t blow it. Anyways, ultimate feeling this month is… wow, yawn. How the heck can one company have SO many choices. Yet, nothing stands out! Hope Aug. doesn’t have nearly as many repeats.

Lauren

I was thinking pop of color because it’s the only box where I like all the samples… but, then I started looking up reviews on the butter London eye gloss. And, tons of people have written or done videos about its very short shelf life. Also, thought by the name it give a dewy look. But, it’s a glittery eyeshadow. I’m covered in that dep. Thanks to Stila.

I have 3 of the butter london eye gloss that I bought last year from GMA’s steals and deals that are in the same condition as when I first received them. There’s a plastic seal under the screw cap lid that if you keep sealed tight after each use, will prevent the product from drying out.

I don’t know if you remember ladies but last month we were talking about the stay different boxes and how customization came out too late and I mentioned emailed them and they gave me a choice of which ones I wanted and I’ve chose the Fountain of Youth very excited. It seemed to go well well guess what? I have not received the June box yet. I went to the website immediately after receiving the email and there is no way for me to do that there is no or any indication of a June much less be able to do customization is that weird? My subscription is up to date paid I feel like left out.

Im excited for anything I get in my box because I’m new to Birchbox,I’m waiting on my first Birchbox right now, it’s June’s box and I did the promo where you get a free mystery box with your order. I’m super excited to get my boxes especially because of how awesome the pull out boxes with the tassels are. Those boxes will be perfect for vanity storage. I already get the Allure Beauty Box and the Ipsy Glam Bag. I love them both especially Ipsy and I’m hoping Birchbox will be worth the $16.05 every month

Alice

You and I subscribed at the same time! I’m waiting on my June and free mystery box!

Reply ButtonReply

Tiffany

Have you received your June box? They sent me my free mystery box but now they are telling me I’m not getting my June box because of an inventory problem. I’m beyond pissed, they should’ve known before they charged me for June that they didn’t have enough boxes to send me one. They even sent me a tracking number for my June box. How do you send someone a tracking number and tell them all the products they are getting in the June box if they never had a June box to send me?
I feel like I was totally scammed! They claimed in the email that this isn’t normal for Birchbox but I’ve read several other reviews where this happened to other people with their first box. You’d think after totally scamming me they would offer me something for all the bs they’ve put me through but all they said was I’d get my next box free. It’s not free when I already paid for a box I didn’t get! Also why would I want to stay subscribed to a company that does this???

Tiffany

That’s awesome! My June box and mystery box just shipped like 2 days ago and are supposed to get here on friday! I’m finally able to see what’s coming in my June box and I’m super excited! I’m getting:

Oribe Balm d’Or Heat Protecting Shield

Murad Retinal Youth Renewal Serum

Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Gold Under Eye Masks

Winky Lux Eyeshadow and Luxie Eyeshadow Brush

Touch In Sol No PoreBlem Priming Water

I haven’t gotten any of these products in any of my other subscription boxes yet and I’m excited to try them all! I’m even more excited to get my mystery box and see what those 5 products are because I love being surprised

I chose the July Curated Box #1 for this month and I can’t wait to get that either

Claudia

Not wowed at all. They raised their price to provide better boxes but so far I have been disappointed. I cancelled this morning.

I held out for as long as I could! I cancelled just now

I just started with my first BB recently and ended up getting a curated box last month. These curated boxes are not too appealing. I will probably choose the Lip glass but how good are the surprise boxes? Is it worth it to take the chance? I love BB LE boxes and have been shopping at BB for months. I am not impressed though with their beauty boxes.

Reply ButtonReply

Tiffany

I just started with BB too, I’m still waiting on my first box for June. I was wondering the same thing about if the surprise boxes are worth it. I chose curated box #1 for July but I’m still wondering if I should just choose a sample and be surprised with the rest. Could someone whose been using BB longer let me know if getting surprised is better??

Melissa

I have 2 accounts, so on one account I hope to get the “clean” beauty box, and on the other I plan to swap for points as there is a kit I want to get off the website.

Last month I was so excited to choose a curated box but it sold out. Not thrilled that there are good choices but I cannot choose them. Such a bummer. Now this month I don’t like any options. I’ve seen them offering these same samples recently and it feels like they are just trying to unload some things. I’m not sure what I will choose.

Reply ButtonReply

Marion

Less than thrilled.

Sample choice: I’ve received the serum from BB before, & I actually have the full size open right now (from another sub), and I am NOT getting through it! I have no interest in cleansers, & the lip glass is not a shade I would use, but I have been wanting to try the formula, so I will probably end up picking this.

Curated boxes: really boring. Some of them even have a mishmash of sample choices from the past few months. I also notice that some have 5 samples & some have 6. Based on this, I’m guessing that most of the “personalized” boxes this month will be back to 5 items again instead of 6. The most interesting curated box to me is Pop of Color, but that name is killing me, because… there is NO color in that box! 😂😂😂 I picked a curated box last month, & it was OK — didn’t feel like a complete waste of $$ like my “personalized” May box — but it definitely gave me FOMO, so I don’t think I will pick a curated box again unless it’s super relevant to me.

Full size item: ROFL. Yeah, this is exactly as awful as we all feared when they announced the potential full-size item choice. Again, like the “pop of color” set name, there’s an irony here that’s killing me: the “full size” LOC items are intentionally small… they are what people would think of as a deluxe sample size to begin with. The LOC lip glosses are 0.08 oz. The MAC “little” lipglass sample size? Also 0.08 oz. So basically if you pick the “full size” option this month, you’re still getting about 3 samples’ worth of product.

My sub ran out last month. I was so torn about continuing because they really impressed me the past couple months. It looked like they were stepping up their game as promised. But I also worried that was just to temporarily ease the pain of the big price increase. I think I had reason to worry. A few of these products are new but I’ve tried probably 80% of them and seen or received a great many of them from Birchbox. I definitely feel much better about not continuing. I do think it’s nice to offer points instead but that’s not enough for my $15. No FOMO here, at least for now.

Anna

I see they are back with a crappy design instead of drawer box. Birchbox: do you listen?
I ordered curated box last month. Instead of Coola I got a tiny bottle of body sunscreen. Enough to cover half my body, once.
Worried they’ll substitute the best item for crap, again.

maya_faby

Does anyone know if the Mac lipgloss is full size? Anyone notice if you get the LOC lipgloss it says they are worth $30 but they sell them for $18.

The M.A.C. LipGlass is a mini.

Miranda

Not excited at all for these. Thing it’s time to cancel. I love getting a choice but it doesn’t matter if none of the choices are any good. All the boxes look pretty blah to me. Think it’s break time for this one. I’m enjoying my full size subscriptions so much more right now. And seriously the full size set? I was excited when I read it u til I saw what the choice was.

Reply ButtonReply

Jen

Lip gloss as the full size item?! What a total disappointment. All of these boxes are pretty bleh IMO BUUUUUT I got an email from Birchbox saying you can just get points instead of the box. Which I use my points on their sets of stuff that are always an amazing value. So I’m glad I have that option instead of these 😊

Reply ButtonReply

jmd

I’m kind of meh.. none of the curated boxes are making me excited. I do not want to swap for the lip trio. I have gotten 2 out of the three choices so I will probably get the MAC lipglass. I wish you could make your own Birchbox online and not just in the brick and mortar store. I don’t even want to swap for points, because I like getting boxes in general and I haven’t bought anything in a while.

Wow, Box #2 for real looks like someone just rummaged through my dresser drawers and ‘curated’ a box from stuff I don’t use. (I literally can see the untouched Loc and strobe cream from where I’m sitting right now, and the others are easy to grab.)

Ok, looking at the boxes on their page, it looks like they pulled stuff from my drawer for EVERY box. Also, the Davines Conditioner and Serum packets don’t show up next to the shampoo there… I wonder if they’re included or not.

Once upon a time I just had BB and Allure, and cancelled Allure because Birchbox was SO much better. I would no longer say that’s the case…

Reply ButtonReply

Jody

Oh my. I don’t like any of these boxes. Still kicking myself for not picking curated last month. Will have to go with another surprise and hope it has something good for me.
