AHAVA Dead Sea Water Hand Cream, 1.3 oz – Estimated Value $9.18 (buy the 3.4 oz version for $24)
This is a good quality hand cream that moisturizes without leaving my hands greasy. While I like it, I find it to be a little boring and I wish one of the scented versions were included instead.
jane iredale Just Kissed Lip and Cheek Stain in Forever Pink, tiny tube – Estimated Value $5? (buy the full-size version for $25)
This is one of those products that I love receiving in beauty subscription boxes because I just cannot bring myself to purchase the full-size version- but I LOVE the subtle wash of pink it gives to my lips. There was no size listed for this tiny, tiny tube, so I pulled the value from Liz’s guestimation in her April 2018 Birchbox review.
Pour Moi Climate-Smart Desert Day Cream, 1 oz – Retail Value $35
This antioxidant-packed moisturizer was formulated specifically for hot and dry climates to help prevent trans-epidermal water loss. I like that this has Squalane on the ingredients list along with hyaluronic acid, and I will be passing this along to family back in Arizona because Louisiana definitely is not a dry climate- we have all the humidity.
Tizo AM Replenish SPF 40 Untinted, 1 oz – Retail Value $41
I am SO stoked that this $25 kit included a full-size $41 sunscreen- I got this in the Spring Beauty Report box and really loved it. This moisturizer with SPF is made with 16% zinc oxide, ceramides, and vitamins C and E. I was impressed with how it sank into my skin when I applied it- it wasn’t hard to rub in like some sunscreens, and it left my skin looking smoother and feeling softer (with no white cast). Even though I have about fifty sunscreen options scattered across my apartment, since receiving this one this is the one I have been reaching for every morning.
Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Gold Eye Masks, 1 pair – Estimated Value $4.17 (buy a box of 6 pairs for $25)
These pop up in subscription boxes frequently, but I am not mad about it- wearing a metallic gold eye mask is always fun. These are designed to brighten, hydrate, and reduce the appearance of dark circles. In terms of results, I don’t think these are the most impressive, but I am happy with the added nourishment this gives the area under my eyes (I like to wear these while I am applying my eye makeup to catch any potential fallout).
Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C, 2 servings – Buy a box with 30 servings for $32.95
I have been curious about trying these - I have been seeing them around Instagram! I think including a vitamin C supplement is a great idea for a jet-set themed box - I always try to use immune support supplements when I fly. These packets have a goo that doesn’t really have a flavor, and you add it to a small amount of water before tossing it back.
Juice Beauty Hydrating Mist, 1 oz – Retail Value $10
This mist is made with grapeseed oil, rosehip, and ylang-ylang to add a boost of hydration and glow to your skin. This is perfect for tossing in my purse for on-the-go hydration, and I found the mist to be refreshing.
DeoDoc Daily Intimate Wash, 1.2 oz – Estimated Value $6.88 (buy the 3.4 oz version for $19.50)
I think this is a great inclusion for a box with a jet-set theme- sometimes with travel, especially if I have been sitting for a long time, I just feel gross when I finally reach my destination. This wash is fragrance-free, developed with a gynecologist, and gentle. It checks all the boxes for me!
Living Proof Triple Detox Shampoo, 1 oz – Estimated Value $6.50 (buy the 2 oz version for $13)
I think Living Proof as a whole is a reputable haircare brand, and I am impressed with this shampoo. It is designed to remove buildup from the three main causes (product, pollution, and hard water), and it gives a thorough cleanse of my scalp without making it feel drier - impressive for a detoxing shampoo! I have an especially dry scalp, and I was happy with how gentle and effective this was for me
The Verdict: I was so excited to see that New Beauty came out with these limited edition boxes - I have really loved every single box they have produced! The Jet Set box is no exception, and I am stoked to have another tube of the Tizo sunscreen along with almost everything you need to make traveling way easier. Value-wise, I calculated a total value of $117.73 for everything except the supplements, which absolutely blows the $24.95 cost of the box out of the water.
