Quirky Crate February 2019 Review

I am loving the fun colors in this assortment of goodies! Let’s dive in!

Quirky Crate February 2019 - Info1

Quirky Crate samples one item from a featured artist each month; this month is Julie Pinzur! This info card gives you a little background on Julie’s work.

Quirky Crate February 2019 - Info2

On the flipside, Quirky Crate includes a list of all the items inside the box as well as each item’s price, so you know what each item is worth.

Time to get quirky!!

Quirky Crate February 2019 - Bag1 Quirky Crate February 2019 - Bag2

Donut Cross-Body - Retail Value $59 (on sale here for $34.97), Listed Value $24

This bag is the first thing I saw when I opened my box, and I love it! It is so lovably kitschy, and it actually feels like it is decent quality. I couldn’t get a good picture since the bag doesn’t open very wide, but it has a black interior that will be easy to wipe clean. It also has a small zipper pocket inside, too. I also like the gold chain strap (which the bag I linked does not have), but I actually like this style more. I’m not sure if this is something I would carry to work, but I would definitely use it shopping or going out on the weekend.

Quirky Crate February 2019 - Hair1 Quirky Crate February 2019 - Hair2

Travel Kawaii Hair Straightener - Listed Value $16

I love getting electronics and beauty tools in subscription boxes, so I was pretty excited about this travel-sized straightener. It is also, you guessed it, adorable; the pink bunny face matches the metal plates, and it comes in a convenient plastic case. I only test drove this on my bangs, but it heated up quickly and glided through my hair without snagging it, a major plus!

Quirky Crate February 2019 - Sock1 Quirky Crate February 2019 - Sock2

Monstera Leaf Socks - Listed Value $8

Every month Quirky Crate includes a pair of socks, and this month’s pair is leafy green. I love the bright print, and the fabric is quality. This pair is roomy on me (I wear size 7.5 for reference), but they are still comfortable to wear.

Quirky Crate February 2019 - Pin

Hot Mess Enamel Pin - Listed Value $10

I am loving the retro vibes of this pin! The “hot mess” hair dryer is also, sadly, relatable, so it is a perfect match for me. It is 1.5 inches wide and has two pins at the back for a sturdy hold.

Enamel Pin Display Banner - Listed Value $12

Here is the perfect solution for someone (like me) who loves pins but doesn’t have anywhere to display them. I love to wear pins on my jean jackets, but this display is going to be awesome hanging in my room with all of my flair showcased.

Quirky Crate February 2019 - Space1 Quirky Crate February 2019 - Space2

Spaceman Enamel Pendant - Listed Value $15

This pendant is out of this world! And astronomically cute! Although I don’t usually wear longer necklaces, this spaceman is so casual that I might have to make an exception; he would be perfectly paired with a t-shirt and jeans.

Quirky Crate February 2019 - Patch1 Quirky Crate February 2019 - Patch2

Mokuyobi Patch - Retail Value $6

This retro track and field patch is by the featured artist this month, Julie Pinzur. She has so many cute patches and bags on her site, and everything is designed by her and made in the US. This iron-on measures 2.5 x 3.125 inches, and since I am not an athlete, will be gifted! There are also cute illustrated directions on the back, if you’ve never ironed on a patch before they spell it right out for you.

Quirky Crate February 2019 - Flags

Happy Flags - Listed Value $4

The flags I received are a thin cardstock. The string measures 13 feet, and I think these would make excellent birthday/celebration decorations or add pizzazz to any little nook.

Quirky Crate February 2019 - Decor

Here I have my Pins banner adorned with some pins, of course, including the Hot Mess pin above, surrounded by happy flags!

The Verdict: Quirky Crate exceeded my expectations! Upon unboxing, I was so overcome with adorkable graphics and colorful, fun accessories, I felt like Jessica Day’s spirit inhabited me for a second there. Sure, these aren’t items I need, but this is definitely a subscription that I would treat myself to as a fun pick me up. Also, there are a few things I know some of my friends and family would find cute and funny, so I think this box would be great to break up into quirky little surprises.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? If you sign up for a subscription, you will receive the March box.

Value Breakdown: The listed retail value of this box adds up to $95, over double the amount of the subscription cost of $34.99 + $5.95 shipping. Inside of it came 8 items, which breaks down to approximately $5.12 per item.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.

I have that exact same donut bag! I swear to goodness. I bought it for 20 bucks in Harajuku, Japan two years ago. Just watch out for the little hole in the side. Mine have popped out a few times, I just stick them back in.
