  1. The Avene is the only good item. I don’t sub BB beauty, I sub the BB Man box.

  2. I just signed up. Wondering if someone could tell me how I go about making a sample choice? Thanks!

    • Sample choice “opens” near the end of the month. I think last month was the 26th or 27th– Aces (people who’ve spent a certain dollar amount that I am forgetting at the moment) always get to do sample choice a day ahead of other subscribers. When choice does open, once you log in to your account, there’s usually a section in the middle of the page with a link to take you to “customization.”

A few days before customization opens, that section has a link to preview the options. I think MSA usually gets the spoilers even before birchbox links them on the site.

      • Thank you so much for the rundown, Emma!

        • If you can log into your account, you can watch a short video showing the choices.
Aces get to choose Jan. 28th, everyone else, Jan. 29th.

          • Thank you, Annie!

  3. Well I was all set to go curated. Then I realized that my box for January contained shampoo and conditioner. Bouncing between the leave in conditioner or going for a blind box.

  4. I CERTAINLY don’t want another black mascara or leave-in conditioner, and the curated box is of no interest whatsoever, so eye cream it is.

  5. Glad I just canceled 😴

  6. I just cancelled sucks I really wanted to try the eye cream. Oh well I’ll find it on Ebay I’m sure.

  7. Is there something that makes the primer not very good or are you saying you already have enough. I got the curated last month to get the blac peel off mask for my daughter. I gave full size samples to my boys at Christmas and they love them and my daughter said she wanted to try it. The rest of the box was not too exciting.

    • A little bit of both. I mostly don’t like how either Benefit primer feels on my face, though I know some people love them. (I think Trust Fund Beauty’s is my favorite, although I actually don’t wear primer a whole lot anyway.) And of course, since I don’t like them OR use them much, it seems like they are everywhere!

  8. The curated box was actually looking interesting until I laid eyes on yet. another. benefit. primer. Blah.

Oh, well. Not sad that I unsubscribed. I’m on product overload anyhow.

    • I like that primer, but it’s the shampoo and conditioner samples that turned me off. That’s for a Target box. I got away from Birchbox because of their obsession with hair products.

      • Same. Birchbox was my first subscription box but I cancelled because I got too many hair products.

  9. I haven’t tried that Sunday Riley eye cream. I don’t know if that is brand new? I might just go with all surprises.

    • That eye cream has been out since last year, however I don’t recall seeing it in a sample like that. However, with the full-size eye cream being in a white bottle, and the the sample being in a dark tube, I thought for a sec it was a new product too! 🙂

      • Is the Sunday Riley eye cream heavy? I don’t have dry skin and I hate heavy creams. I’ll probably choose it since I’ve tried everything else.

        • Hey if I just sign up can I pick the Sunday riley eye cream? The girl put it under my eye makeup at sephora and I would like a small one for when I wear makeup. Thank u

Oh yeah it isn’t think it went right in but someone put It on for me so I want to try it again. Even tho I dont need to sign up for something else I just want that one thing…

          • If you are a new subscriber, Birchbox picks all your samples for the first month. You can pick a curated box or one sample for the 2nd month or have a total surprise.

          • You can buy the full size right now for $65 or sign up. I’m not sure if February will be your first box but if it is, you can choose the eye cream on Jan. 29th.

      • Hi everyone, is that eye cream heavy? I don’t like thick creams since I have have oily skin. I’ve tried all the other spoilers.

        • I tried a sample of this sometime last year, and I don’t recall it feeling thick & heavy.
