This is a great box except (in my case) for the lipstick. I would look like a clown in that color.

Just a word of warning- I will not use open ended balance credit cards for sub boxes.

Margot Elena tried to charge me for 3 (!!!!) Winter boxes when I was supposed to get one. Thus, I cancelled my debit card and got a new one that same day with a different number.

I went to the Macy’s site, and after having already activating my new debit card number and using it elsewhere, Macy’s KICKED OUT my December bag order, cancelled it, and in the cancellation email said for me to phone the Consumer Protection dept.

I did phone them, they sent me to about 4 people about a simple change in a card number.

I was told I would NOT get a December box even through this all happened before the deadline on the 10th.

They are MERCENARY people on staff at Macy’s. I SUSPECT the big grudge is that I’m not using a Macy’s credit card, as every single one of them asked if I was. NO, because they’ve had security breaches and because I won’t use a credit card for any of my sub boxes.. Never have, never will.
My debit card is from a national bank, it is a great card with absolutely no fees to me or to Macy’s for their box.

I made a totally new account after they all told me I wouldn’t get the December box and in so doing, was able to enter my new card as the primary card from the onset.

They have MAJOR CS PROBLEMS!!!

There are a couple of things I’m not understanding here. Credit cards are much more secure than debit cards. With a credit card you can dispute a charge, and they can’t be used to drain your account. If there are fraudulent charges on your account you are not responsible for them. Debit cards afford virtually no protection at all. I don’t use mine for anything but ATM withdrawals. Also I use an AmEx card for my Macy’s box – it is not a Macy’s credit card and I’ve never had any trouble. I have also changed from one credit card to another on the website in my account page and there were no complications. Maybe using a debit card precipitates a higher level of security/verification?

A debit card has the balance I want it to have for a specified length of time. I control how much is on the card at one time.

My credit cards have very high spending limits, more than I’m willing to say, actually, and carry only very low balances.

Which would YOU rather go on a no- holds- barred ” shopping spree” with? Obvious answer, a stolen credit card number if you can get many thousands of dollars vs. $200 worth of merchandise from just ONE card.

You aren’t looking at the LIMITS of what can be done with a debit card vs. a credit card.

My debit card is a VISA card, and I have great protection, but only AFTER a bogus or otherwise unauthorized charge should appear.

I only started using a debit card with my own limits for sub box purchases after a few ” security breaches” at the merchant level. Happened to many of us around 2013. Merchants weren’t as careful as they are now.

My choice, my life.

I have two subs with Margot Elena and they charged me for three winter boxes. I contacted them and they refunded me one charge. I wouldn’t cancel my card for that though as it’s such a pain to change all my auto-pays.
It would be easier if all these sub boxes went through PayPal. At least on their you can cancel charging permissions.
Macy’s is definitely a hit or miss with me.

I did everything possible to work with M. E. within their time frame and they simply refused. Said they have ” reorganized”, have new CS staff.
It shows.

I’d actually rather have my December Macy’s little sample bag than the M.E. box after what they did to me.

I am having the hardest time trying to sign up. Everytime I hit the subscribe link it just takes me to a blank page. I tried different browsers and different ways but no luck. Help!

If you have a Facebook account, use messenger to message Macy’s. They are such an incredible help, quick to help figure out any issue I have had. I’ll NEVER call their customer service or “chat” again.

Thanks will do that now.

The December bag includes a $10 coupon instead of the usual $5. They show it in the video on the Macy’s website,

The Macy’s site is showing a different Rituals and Sunday Riley product from this spoiler(Sakura and Tidal), any chance of getting the items listed here rather than their site?

I signed up way back in October to try to get the “underwear” box…didn’t get it, but I’m glad they didn’t charge right away like some boxes do. I went from owning no sequin bags to now getting this one, the ipsy sequin bag, and got the flamingo sequin bag from Tarte’s box last month. Swimming in sequins!

I just went t Macy’s .com and they are showing two different items; Sunday Riley – Tidal (instead of Good Genes) & The Ritual Of Sakura Zensational Foaming Shower Gel (White bottle instead of the red one). Their video shows the same. Wonder what happened.

Either way, I am happier with what they currently show on their site. I have so many of Good Genes samples :/

I saw this online after you posted. I got both my bags ($5 with $50 Macy’s purchase, great stocking stuffers for my SIL and BFF!) and both include the contents shown above, rather than the Sunday Riley and Rituals variations.

I received the two different items. My box came today and I had the Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream and The Ritual of Sakura Sensational Foaming Shower Gel in organic rice milk & cherry blossom (white bottle). The enclosed booklet shows these products instead of the ones above.

It’s kind of sad that the spoilers come out is late that it’s hard to get the spoiled box. I didn’t see this post the first day and by the time I clicked through it says January. Money saved…. I haven’t been wowed by enough of the boxes to signup for January without spoilers.

Ary

I really wanted this box, but on the subscription site it says that I’d only get January’s box if I subscribed now :/ do you know if there’s a way to get December’s?

Yessss! Love it all! I upgraded to Ipsy plus so wasn’t going to get their sequined regular bag this month, and I loved it. I love all the items here and I get a sequined bag. 😍😍

Thanks for the spoilers! The bag is super cute.

The $5 coupon is $5 off a $10 purchase. Beauty ships free. Just FYI because the coupon itself does not state this.

I KNOW!!! I can’t get enough of good genes, My 2 sample sizes I have I have saved for this week to use daily before my Miami trip. And the clay/good genes flash 10 minute mask WORKS! The Rituals is AMAZING, I have one sample left out of 2, and its almost gone, so to get a FULL SIZE IN MY FAVE SCENT is well..MERRY CHRISTMAS TO US! LOL! AND THE BAG YES YES MACY’S LOL!
I get excited ab my Macy’s, Allure, and Sephora thr most! I subscribed to a 2nd Macy’s the other day so in January I’ll get 2. I want 2 Allure but they won’t mail 2 to the same address and I dont want to mail it to anyone else and try to get it from them.

If you have one near you, you might want to check out your local Macy’s… they sell the bags in store too! 🙂 but I think they can sell out pretty quickly though.

Reply ButtonReply

Cindy

It’s $5 with $50 purchase from Macy’s, & they’re having a great Cyber Monday sale right now!

Is this offer available each month?

How do you find out if your local Macys sells the bags- do you ask in the Beauty department?
