Tarte Birthday Mystery Box – Back in Stock + SPOILERS!

I must have got lucky. Mine came in an amazing fully sequined bag. It was covered in blue sequins with dots of gold sequins throughout. Definitely an amazing looking bag. The lip duo was a wearable shade. My lip crayon was hot pink, which I won’t wear, but it turns out I can’t find my Flirt or Tease palettes even though I own them (think I lost them while travelling as they are my favs for travelling) so I’m glad to have another Tease palette. I wasn’t excited after I saw the spoilers, but I’m glad I got it.

I’m happy with mine! So glad I didn’t get a purple lip crayon! I got magic wand a red and I needed a red liner. I’m looking forward to trying the mini eyeshadows. I can always use mascara, I hope I like the lifted because I have 2. The lip looks wearable in cartwheel. My purple bag is well made and says “be happy, be bright, be you”. I am a bit disappointed that the bag counts as a full size item. Wish I could post a pic on here.

gah was hoping for one of those sparkly eyeshadows or at least a blush. Oh well, most of this will be going up on the swap board! At least I was able to use the 20% off and got some other stuff to make it free shipping.

I waited till mine arrived to decide if it was worth it. I’m very disappointed. Five full-size products makes me expect 5 actual products, not 4 and a small makeup pouch. Shades of the lipstick and lip liner are not complimentary at all. Honestly the lip liner is pretty much useless. Eyeshadow palette is nice, but something slightly larger would have made me feel that I hadn’t wasted my money. Won’t be purchasing one of these again.

This little grab bag would be great for someone who loves the brand, but never knows what to buy. I’m in that boat. I am saving judgement until it arrives.

The items aren’t horrible, but could be SO much better. I saw a pic on IG and it just doesn’t wow.

Also, the palette I’ve seen down to about $12 before.

I’ve been wanting to get the Tease palette for a while so I’m happy with it. The bag is like a bronze/copper color that says #OwnYourCrown on the front and has a crown above it with tarte’s logo at the bottom. I received the lip sculptor in the shade Candid which is a nice pinky nude. I also got the lifted mascara which I believe is a black/brown shade and sweat proof! And the lip crayon I got is a purple shade called On Fleek, similar to the color of the cap of the lifted mascara!

Dang, I’m totally having buyers remorse now. On the plus side, I did have a 25% off code that worked and free shipping since I added a holiday kit I had been wanting. Looks like I’m going to be giving my sister some of these items. Great thing about her, is she’s not as picky as me about make up and she will be happy.

Awww man. I should have known it would be a “full” palette like that. I already have it and it’s small. I’m bummed I didn’t go with my gut.

Buyers remorse.

So, question to those who have already received the bag: what’s actually in it? I like Tarte products, but I already own quite a few from their website sale section, so I’m not sure I want to order this blindly.

Normally I am not excited over mascaras as I rarely wear it (always end up with racoon eyes) but I can wear Tarte’s Light, Camera, Lashes so I am hopeful for this one! I like that it’s a brown/black and anti-sweat, so it sounds like it is definitely worth trying.

I know lot of people are disappointed in this bag, but for me, it was a mega win! It already arrived today and the pallet is perfect because I just finished off my Urban Decay Naked2 mini pallet and the colors are very similar. The pallet plus the mascara alone is totally worth the $28 bucks to me.

That palette kinda reminds me of the one we got in fff if you got the to go one and eyeliner.

I’m glad I purchased one earlier. I’m rebuilding my makeup collection and this is perfect for me.

I almost purchased, glad I didn’t. Figured it would be a small palette due to the value total (altho it looks like a nice little palette.) Kinda crummy that they count a bag as one of the 5 products.

I learned my lesson awhile ago with these, its usually leftovers, or extras, or unwearable colors (for me), and just basically not best sellers. So if I havent already bought it, you can bet I wont want what’s in the “surprise”…..

Very disappointed in the surprise bag. Had I known this on Monday, would not have purchased. Agree with the sentiment of too many lip products.

Another sub box site mentioned a ‘purple’ lip crayon so I am hoping that means the lip crayon will be the energy noir one! That’s more of a tinted balm, it sounds like, with a sheer berry color.

Glad I didn’t purchase. Doesn’t seem like anything new or special.

Unfortunately if I’d known what was in it I likely wouldn’t have purchased. I figured one lip item but two is not for me. I don’t wear lip products. But if you like lip items this one may be for you. A duo and a crayon. I’m excited for the mascara and palette.
