  1. Well, it still won’t refresh. A few hours of sleep and then waking up to be ready. I was extremely early to express interest and receive the emails that I’d be in able to get one. I was there and ready, but they were not.

    Two hours, I’ve tried, which is ridiculous, frankly. I felt like a fool thinking that they had made loyal subscribers wait for them to get it just right. Pffft.

    We all have different styles, but that Laura Lee palette was just awful, as far as I was concerned. I stuck with them to get the Boxy Luxe. I should have cancelled after getting that palette.

    After adding up the amount of the annual subscription, plus what I was going to pay for the BoxyLuxe, it comes to $379.84 that they will NOT be getting from me. Hope everyone enjoys what they get from BoxyCharm, but the way that this was handled, after the LE letdown to many subscribers around the holidays…I am actually not too sad to cut this cord. My husband will be thrilled! I could go to Sephora or SpaceNK and really pick up some things that I actually do want and will thoroughly enjoy for nearly $400. Shame on you, though, BoxyCharm. I have subscribed for a very, very long time. It was not cool to handle this so horribly after the claims you kept boasting about on social media. Nothing nice to say about BoxyCharm any longer.

    • I’m a two year subscriber who feels this way too. And I’ve rarely had anything bad to say about Boxy in that two years.

      Thoroughly disgusted with them, and more inclined to spend the money i’d put towards BoxyCharm on more than a few of items sitting in my carts at Ulta and Sephora.

  2. I was waitlisted after trying to sign up for about an hour, but then just got an email saying I was billed successfully and I’m off the waitlist. Hopefully those who really want it can still get it. Personally I’m a little underwhelmed by the rest of the spoilers, but I’m glad I didn’t get up early for nothing.

  4. I love boxy, but I knew this would be a mess like last time. I’m wait listed, but I’m ok with it, this box has a summer feel to me and I wasnt too excited about it. So for me being waitlisted really worked out, I didnt want this box. Hopefully the people that loved it were able to get in!

  5. I’m a 2 year loyal customer who is so disgusted with Boxycharm today. I understood the hiccups with their first Limited Edition box, understanding that it was a first for them, and assuming they’d learn from it.

    Well, apparently they didn’t learn a thing. I’ve been refreshing for over an hour only to constantly get “bad gateway”. Its like Limited Edition deja vu.

    • It worked for me once I turned off my WiFi and just used cellular data!

      • I shouldn’t HAVE to do that though, it shouldn’t matter one iota what kind of network you use to access it.

    • I got the same message for trying constantly for almost 2 hours and I didn’t get the email to my inbox until almost 10 after 9. Not to mention after all that I didn’t even get wait listed. I got absolutely nothing. Although boxycharm was right on it time wise with charging me for my regular box at approximately 1:00 am…just sayin’

  7. I got waitlisted after constantly trying for an hour. I’m wondering what the difference is between being waitlisted and saying it’s sold out? Wouldn’t they just get waiisted too? I did get an email with an October spoiler, it said, ” we don’t want to leave you empty handed…lol ..cute BC! It was IT cospetics super hero mascara and yet another BC collaboration palette with PUR

    • I couldn’t even get waitlisted. Three hours of trying and I got nothing but that 502 bad gateway which I’m still getting.

      And how is that “cute”? Its patronizing, more than anything. They don’t want to leave us emptyhanded? I was given no say in the matter because I could access nothing at all. Maybe we should all leave THEM emptyhanded $$ wise. SMH.

  8. Finally got through at 922 Central time. I got a box so they don’t seem to be going in FCFS order.

    We will see if it’s worth it. I hope so.

  9. Idk how you guys got waitlisted so early, because I just got the completed order notice at almost exactly 10:00!!! I did get this Luxe box and it says it will arrive in 15 days and my card was charged. Idk if its because I was trying since 9, but I got through finally at 10

    • I am still trying, getting the gateway error. WHY is this happening? Bummed that I will never get activated for the upgrade! 502 error

    • Ok, so I’ve been taken off the waitlist and I am subscribed to Boxyluxe.

  11. tried for over an hour and got waitlisted!!!! that just sucks! Been a subscriber for over a year and couldn’t get the LE boxes either. should have got extra add ons with fff!

  12. I gave up – still not even past the 502 error to get to the notice that it is waitlisted or sold out.

    Did everyone get the same photo spoiler in the email? I’m trying to figure out what the bottle in the middle is, because it doesn’t look like the Smashbox spray from the spoilers.

    • That’s a hair product that has variations. The smashbox spray isn’t in the picture. MSA has posted full spoilers for boxyluxe now.

    • I just got in, no waitlist- I think yearly subscribers automatically get in, or perhaps people who signed up on the interest list? The rest might get in in the order they placed their orders.

      • Nope. I was on the interest list and I have been a subscriber for over four years. They waitlisted me at 6:28 am PST.

  13. You have to be kidding me! I have been trying since 0900 and I just got in and now I am waitlisted. So messed up!

Sooo… I’ve been trying for almost an hour and it kept crashing, I couldn’t even get waitlisted, and then just right now at 6:54 PST it went through and I got a confirmation for this quartets BoxyCharm. I don’t know what’s going on with how they’re choosing who get one this time and who he’s waitlisted, but it’s not first come, first serve…

    • Maybe it did start your process from an earlier attempt and then finalized it when you got back in.

  15. Wow, this was just plain stupid. They should have opened this to long time subscribers first. Again another ill planned idea from Boxycharm (we haven’t forgot the let down of the limited box). This just makes me look forward to Ipsy plus, I may drop Boxy altogether.

    • Agreed!!

    • Ipsy Plus is gonna be the same type issue there are only so many and then you get waitlisted for it also and do not get on til a spot opens or as the list grows they will add more.

      • But Ipsy is a much bigger company so at the very least their website will handle traffic better. Their customer service is also good.

      • I don’t think Ipsy is opening it to everyone at once, so they won’t have all these people crashing the site. Not sure how they are deciding who to invite first, but I emailed their CS and it seems like they are taking a waitlist for invites. Of COURSE I think longest continuous subscribers should go first, but I doubt that’s how they do it.

  16. What a way of starting this weekend. I’m so pissed off at boxycharm. I didn’t get the chance to upgrade at all. No email and bad gateway on the site. Now, it is sold out. I know how to fix it though! I’ll cancel boxycharm and upgrade my ipsy. Problem solved. Happy weekend everyone!

    • I kind of hope everyone who didn’t get the upgrade after trying for hours would cancel their subscriptions- I did. Maybe that will teach them that customer service actually matters, and people aren’t going to just keep putting up with their disappointmenting tactics. They hyped this up for *months* (F*n MONTHS) and had many looking forward to it. The whole process to upgrade was a joke to begin with, then their site crashed. Also, why sell anything that is *this* limited? What did they have to sell? 100 boxes? I’m out.

      • I could see that if it was a limited edition box, but this is a subscription upgrade. They should have enough for at least 75% if their subscribers, and offer it first to the people that didn’t just join in August.

  17. If I don’t get the upgrade, I’m cancelling. I had to go without food to save this money. I won’t be able to afford this in December. I’m so sad.

    • With much respect to you, don’t forfeit food to buy makeup, especially a box that may not be exactly what you want. That just doesn’t make sense.

  18. I’m on the waitlist too, and it says my spot is secured for December. I wonder if there is any chance of more September boxes becoming available. I thought I’d be more disappointed, but I think I’m trying to upgrade more out of fomo than actually wanting all of these items.

  19. I feel like they are picking and choosing who gets the luxe. I got waitlisted. After trying since 9 am. People after me got order confirmations. I wonder if it’s glitchinf and not sold out 🤔

  20. I was going to wait to try and subscribe but then I saw in the email that the other items were a tote bag and a hair thing…
    They just filled the rest of the box with filler junk worth nothing.

    • Agree! Now I’m glad I didn’t get thru even though I started trying at 9.

    • The tote is a filler, but its not counted as an item…if you count the items in the photo and add in tye smashbox primer that isnt pictured theres actually 12 items

  21. I just looked closely at the email they sent and it has all the spoilers. A tote bag, a head band and a lipgloss; I’m good with missing out on this one.

    • Yeah, me too. I sure don’t need that tote bag lol.

      • I kind of feel like that tote bag shouldn’t even be considered an 11th item! Filler indeed…

        • If you count all the items and add the smashbox thats not pictured, it adds up to 12

  23. So disappointed in how this has been handled. I happen to work early in the morning PST, so I was already up and have been trying since it “launched” and nothing can get me past the confirm payment screen. All I’m seeing on social media is that the waitlist is closed and people are getting sold-out messages – how are they even getting past the confirmation screen?! Is it really just bad luck on my part?!
    Ugh, annoying.

    • No, it’s not just you stuck on confirmation. I can’t get back to confirmation. I’ve been a subscriber for almost two years. To have them repeatedly state that it would not crash and that emails were sent out when I signed up for the “interest” list immediately, it is not making me too happy waking up early after only a few hours of sleep to get this experience. I know it’s just items, but it’s a business that relies upon customers. They can count me OUT as a customer now. They will get the same response, asking me to reactivate my subscription. They ultimately will need the subscribers.

    • I just got through exactly an hour later!!! Keep trying.

    • it took me from 9:00am to 11:45am est of trying consistently on my phone, Mac, and PC for it to finally go through only to be waitlisted… pretty annoying =/

      I see a lot of people saying that don’t care much for the product mix, but at least 3 of the items I was going to purchase anyway! Maybe I’ll get lucky with the waitlist but I doubt it at this point.

  24. I never even received the email with the link, but I am OK with that as I had already decided I wasnt going to upgrade.

  25. I was on the site by 6:01 my time (pacific) and got stuck in a loop. I could get as far as the acknowledgments but then it would kick off with an error message. For 30 minutes I tried, alternating between my phone and my iPad. Finally, I got an acknowledgment that my order went through.

  27. Keeps getting gateway error for half an hour now. This is rediculous I set my alarm for 6am just for this.

    • And just received a follow-up email that I’m off the waitlist now and was charged. Don’t know if I’m excited or not after being bummed about it…

  31. I tried to upgrade the minute I got the email. Three times it’s crashed.
    Oh well. Must be an omen I can live without it.

  32. On my old account that I canceled, I just got an email telling me to reactivate to upgrade to boxyluxe. I cannot believe it! They cannot take care of existing customers and now they are using this as bait to get people to reactivate?????????? I would be so mad if I reactivated only to get all these errors and not be able to upgrade. Wow!

    • Just got waitlisted til December Their site has been crashed since 9 This is BS I had to use my hubby’s server to get in grrrrrrrrrrr

  37. Ugh get your act together boxy!! Nice video this week saying how they’ve been working on this issue for a month! Very disappointed with this! I guess they are unaware of the demand since they have been spoiling and hyping this for weeks!

    • Oh Boxy has been hyping this for over a month-I’ve been a loyal customer for over a year… but you’re losing another customer over this. I let the last fiasco with the LE box go but this time I’m done. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me… I’m done.

  38. I think I might have gotten it the first time I tried. Anyone that has succeeded, have you gotten a confirmation email or anything?

    • I got a confirmation email.

      • Two of them actually – one confirming order And extra charge, one welcoming me to BoxyLuxe

  39. I re-signed up for Boxycharm last month solely for the purpose of getting the first edition BoxyLuxe box. This morning (it’s 7am here where I am) I didn’t even have to get out of bed – just a few taps on my phone and I got it!! 😍 Yaaayy. Back to sleep I go.

    • Oh dang. Now I feel bad seeing what everyone else is saying – i guess my experience wasn’t common 😞

      • No, it wasn’t. I have been trying since before 9 am eastern and get the acknowledgement and then the error – every single time. Another stunning performance by boxycharm….

  42. I was concerned about the fact that 9 am is 6 am PST so I set an alarm for 5:55 am. I knew it would crash just like last time. I’m glad I went on the site at 6 and upgraded because I didn’t even get an email until 6:07 and now everyone is saying that it’s now waitlisted. I was really fortunate to snag one, but the emails should have gone out right at 9am like they said.

    • I went to my account at 6 and it was already crashed. I’m Not surprised.

      • It crashed on me too, but then I ended up getting an email saying I claimed one as well as a second email with my order confirmation. Now I see it under my subscriptions. My timing was pure luck. If I had waited one second longer it would have waitlisted me I’m sure.

        They should have waitlisted everyone. And then manually gone in order received and activated, in my opinion. I hope somehow that’s what happened and a lot of charmers get their box this month.

    • Omg I got my email way too late too! The site was already down :'( so looks like I’m not getting the upgrade… so bummed out bc I missed sleep for this and an opportunity to go to the amusement park with my nephews and nieces. why do I even bother with crap like this…

  45. I was finally able to get on their site and I’ve been waitlisted. It was only five minutes after it opened and it’s already sold out. I’m pretty upset about this. I thought they would’ve learned from the limited edition box.

  46. Website already has been crashing within the first few minutes. BC really should have upgraded their servers.

    I have the option right now, but I do think I’m going to pass for someone who’s more excited than I am.

    • Went back and saw the email photo with the sample products and now I’m not too disappointed. The spoiler items look great. The other stuff, not so much. For an extra $30 I’ll just go buy something I want.

      • Yup, felt the same way. It’s a good deal, but I’d rather just spend my money at Ulta and earn points.

    • I’ve been ON this since 8:30. 9:00 comes and goes without any way to upgrade. 9:07 I get the email. Then the site crashes. I was so angry but I kept trying anyway. How could BC NOT have been prepared? Then I stopped myself and actually looked at the full box spoilers on the email. I don’t want or need these products that I am so desperate to get. No thanks, Boxy! I’ll just keep my $30 bucks. 😆😸🤑
