So it’s live on the app rn & the brands seem soooo similar to the Luxe boxes they’ve done before. This one will include makeup items from YSL, Guerlain & Giorgio Armani, skincare items from La Mer and SK-II & an Atelier perfume… haven’t all these exact brands been in the box before ?

Online class? Lol that’s what Youtube is for and it’s FREE. Sephora, sweetie, please join the rest of us in 2018.

Ok Soo…. extra $10 a month for 1 extra sample, and some sort of an online class?
Or extra $15 for an extra sample and a make up bag? Is it even big enough to fit make up for travel?
Why would I ever change from the reg $10 play box? Pay double? Or more? That’s a 100% increase… Or a 150% increase….
I guess Sephora is so full of themselves… I can only assume that bc thier name on these boxes it is worth more…
Dermstore is killing Sephora

The samples are typically from high end brands. La Mer, Givenchy, etc. Brands they are not putting in Play box.

Yeah I want to know more about that store also

Tell me more about Dermstore, please!?

Dermstore runs the Beauty Fix subscription box. MSA reviews their boxes, so you’ll be able to see what their past boxes look like. They’re $24.95 + tax, can sometimes have as many as 10 items, contains primarily skincare products, and is mostly sample sized items of mid- to high-end brands.

$25 for samples?? I can get Boxycharm or Glossybox for full size items for less than $25.

I will likely get this. I’ve been rather pleased and actually used the samples in the past Luxury brand Play boxes I’ve purchased.

Nothing to see here. More money for samples? Nope.

I know. Sephora turns me off. They make you spend, spend, spend just to get a crappy sample.

The $20 box is definitely a pass for me. Don’t care to take a class. I am intrigued by the $25 box, but definitely need to see some spoilers first. I don’t know why I would want to collector cards… I get the feeling the original box will go down hill as it has always contains some luxe items and now it just says samples. It also used to contain 6 samples but now their site says 5. Jan and Feb had six. Hmm… I don’t know…

There was a review of the red box on youtube.. one of the samples was a SAMPLE of the sephora eyeliner in black. It would have been a great regular play box but then you have boxy delivering 5 full size products for a dollar more and or a dollar less depending on if you get an annual. With a twenty dollar price point the least they could do is include one full size product of their own brand which costs them pennies.

I have to agree, sending out tiny store brand samples is a pet peeve of mine, one month I got 2 in the same bag. I tiny eyeliner and a tiny lipstick. It wasn’t even the new lipstick they introduced last year, which would have been a great promo/bonus item.
I tried a couple luxe boxes and it was fun, it really is top brands like YSL and Dior. I love YSL primer now, but think I’ll pass unless there are some left after spoilers are released. I don’t need the stress and drama that comes with Ltd edition ordering right now. ☺

This red box? The $20 one? What else was in it? Would love to know! I know the luxe box has very high end samples, so brands like la mer, amore pacific, Gucci, Dior, etc. at least in past boxes.

Never mind I just realized it was the glitter eyes box. That box was awful. The luxe boxes are much better.

I agree — I don’t see the appeal here. Allure has been sending out a mix of deluxe and full size items the last few months for $10/$15, and Boxy has all full size for $19-$21ish. The Sephora Play and Play Lux boxes seem like such a poor value in comparison. Is there something I’m missing?

Did one of the luxe boxes come with a pink case? I have no use for the little pouches/bags. Do they usually come with a pouch like bag that is designed, instead of white?

Yup and I ordered that one as soon as it was released, then days later they cancelled my order even though others who.purchased after me still got theirs. I was so pissed. Sephora needs to get it together.

Yes, one of the past luxe boxes, that had two variations, came in a pink case. I believe all of the other times they came in bags, but not like the white monthly Play bags.

So not worth the FOMO. These are deluxe samples for $25. The last luxe box was $20?

@Barb – yes, last box was $20 (the one that had the pink box). I like these boxes aren’t so relevant anymore when one can purchase a Sephora favorites set and get stuff you actually may want.

I feel that since this is a Play Luxe Box, Play subscribers should have first crack at them whether they download the app or not.

So no early access for vib or rouge this time? These LE boxes stress me out trying to get them since I live on the west coast. I don’t like fomo!

Well, if the trend of the MSA comments are any indication on how the general Sephora public feels about the luxe bags, then I don’t think those of us that are excited about the bags have to worry too much about them selling out right away. Plus, if I remember correctly, virtually all, if not all, of the luxe bags were still available the next day when full spoilers are generally released. Personally, I’ve always bought these blind, and with the exception of the glitter bag, for which I gifted all but two products, I loved them all…. but even the glitter bag wasn’t so bad because the recipient of the gifted items loved them all so that was a win for me!

I live in the eastern part of the country and it still stresses me out. I missed out last time because I wasn’t Rouge and then they canceled my order for the one I was able to buy and now that I am Rouge, I get no benefit for it….great….they aren’t helping to make me less disgruntled. LOL.

It seems like Rouge is no different from VIB. It actually upsets me. I spend way too much at Sephora and the Rouge thing is a gimmick. They say you get free makeovers (by an untrained teenager no thanks) and free two day shipping. I already payed the ten dollars last year before I even made Rouge! We don’t even get a save 15% when we make Rouge again. VIB gets a coupon. I told CS I was going to start another account and try for the VIB coupon again.
Tara
I know, right? I’m only vib but I appreciated the early access to past boxes (except the first one which was rouge only)…I will probably set an early alarm to remind myself to order and hopefully I’ll get one! I think the only thing that made me get the 2 versions last time is I pay for flash shipping so my stuff got shipped out right away. Hopefully they learned their lesson from the past debacle and since rouge gets free flash shipping, you should get your stuff sent out ASAP! Good luck to both of us!

I already have the app… do they have a launch time?

I am somewhat excited for this. $25 is not too bad, just hope the samples are good!
