FYI – Le Metier de Beaute Beauty VIP May Boxes Haven’t Shipped Yet

FYI – several readers have reached out to let us know that Le Metier de Beaute VIP Subscription boxes for May haven’t shipped yet. And Le Metier De Beaute has been slow to respond and is offering no explanation for why there is a delay, or when subscribers will receive their boxes. (Typically Le Metier De Beaute also offers their annual subscriptions in May, and that hasn’t happened either.) UPDATE: Looks like the new subscriptions should open in August.

I’ve reached out to Le Metier de Beaute, and I’ll post when I hear back for any updates, but wanted to make sure this was on your radar if you are a current subscriber since they haven’t sent out any emails letting subscribers know there is a delay.

  1. Looks like they’re pulling through! I’m really glad because I really like the company. Just received this email:

    Dear Loyal VIP Clients,

  2. That’s it. No May box, no June box. I don’t hold out any hope for a July box. I just filed a dispute with my credit card. Ridiculous from a well established company

  3. Wow, we are at the end of June and still no May box. How extremely rude of them. An email costs nothing, how could they not even send an update out. I am sure that they have enough products in stock to send us the last months that we paid for even if it is in just one shipment with an explanation. I really liked many of their products. What a bummer.

  4. There is a sales representative of Neiman Macus advertising on one of its feed on Facebook , I told him Le Metier de Beaute is not responding to messages and his reply is that the company is going through some restructuring and that I could order products thro him!

    • Another Le Metier de Beaute Neiman Marcus’ sale rep replied and said nothing was shipped to her counter for a long time and all her contact numbers have been disconnected.

  5. I think I’m done with any kind of annual subscriptions. This is frustrating. This long out, there is probably little chance of being refunded for the last three months of the subscription.

Not only has the Le Metier de Beaute line been removed from Neiman Marcus both in my area stores and online, I talked to my friend in Paris when I first read about the subscription not shipping, and asked her if the brand is still sold in Paris. She said the brand, which is obviously French, is no longer sold at my favorite department store in Paris, Galeries Lafayette Haussmann.

    Just my opinion, but if Galeries Lafayette, which is likely the best stocked ( and most beautiful) department store in western Europe, doesn’t have the brand, then the brand either became unsellable or it is defunct.
    She said she believed it had been removed for quite some time.

    I don’t know, but is there any chance the subscription to the US became a way to get rid of warehouse stock? Did any of the products seem old or stored for a long time?

    Also, I wonder if anyone in Europe receives/ received this subscription for the past year or so? I tend to think not for the reasons stated above.
    How does one proceed when the transaction not being honored is international and the company appears to be bankrupt?
    I am so very sorry this happened. At one time, this was a fine cosmetic line and I loved the packaging so much.

    • Believe it or not the company was started and is still based in New York and from what I’ve found I believe the company name is MT Liquidation LLC dba Le Metier de beaute…looks like they filed bankruptcy in 2014 and yes I probably have to much time on my hands lol

  7. Yep. I reached out via email starting a little more than a week after June, inquiring about May. They just replied with a thank you for inquiring while they work on the issue. No explanation. I was extremely polite and suggested that a simple email alerting subscribers that had faith in their products and PAID IN FULL in advance, that we deserve an email about the status.

    It was a polite, but unhelpful response. I’ve reached out a second time, and the same type of response. No information whatsoever. I had no idea about the “sold out” and removal from markets. This does not look good. This is a quarter of over $300 paid in advance to them.

    Thank you for keeping us updated. Please, please, if anyone knows anything, I’d really appreciate being kept updated, too. It did not go unnoticed that I did not receive my May delivery.

  8. I have send messages on Facebook messenger & on their Instagram page, no reply so far ! In the past, they reply real quick via on Facebook messenger.

    • Thank you for the research. Looks like we will not be getting the rest of our subscriptions.

      • I never subscribed to this box but I think that they should offer subscribers full or at least partial refunds.

    • No. Le Metier de Beaute has been in trouble for sometime. I am not surprised.

  10. They have pulled out of all Neiman Marcus locations. According to my source they have filled bankruptcy. I am not sure if they are in any retailer…

  11. Thank you Liz! I wonder if the reference to August was about the shipping date for the May sign up. If I recall I signed up last May and the first box shipped in August. It would be nice if they would let subscribers know what was going on.

  12. Eeek! All of this non-communication is making me a bit glad that signups didn’t happen in May since I was seriously considering signing up. I hope this wonkiness isn’t a sign that something not good is up with their sub. I’ll be re-visiting this post in August to read the comments to see how the May/June and future boxes were handled before I commit over $300 to this sub.

      • Hey there!! I did see it! I’m so excited to see what’s in it. 🙂 Even thought I have oily skin, anything with hydration in it just sings to me. I even let Liz know right when I saw the email this afternoon, but so far nothing has been posted. I hope it’s posted within the next day or two since I’m sure there are a few people that might be interested to be on the waitlist.

        Can you refresh my memory on what was in the last one? Did you happen to see one of the LE boxes below the sign up for the waitlist with the May Lindstrom and Pestle & Morter products in it? I got super excited, because I thought it was a newly launched box, but it was one that launched 10 months ago, and I totally missed it. 🙁 That looked like one of the best ones yet.

      • Luna, in the last one there were ESPA, Caudalie, Nuxe, Neom, Elemis and Omorovicza. I bought it for the bag :). I did not see LE box with Peste & Morter . I have their oil and serum and it is great product, I love it, very light.
        Excited for BE bag, no matter what it is inside, I am getting it for the bag 🙂

  14. The link embedded above for the VIP Club is dead, but upon searching the site with the keyword ‘VIP’, I found a link to the 2018 subscription. It indicated that sign up starts on August 1, 2018.
