We have a new spoiler for the June 2018 California Found box!

The June 2018 box includes:

Every June California Found box includes a Microfiber Beach & Travel Towel from Laguna Beach Textile Company. (MSRP: $25.00) Made from premium quality microfiber, this towel is thicker and more absorbent than typical microfiber towels with 250 GSMs (grams per square meter). While thicker, it still packs up and dries out faster than most cotton-based towels.

The towel is larger in size than the average, measuring 75” x 40” providing maximum coverage and comfort. It also comes with a carrying case to keep moisture and sand off other items. It packs up easily and is perfect for the beach, pool, camping, or the gym.

Your box will contain one in either Sky Blue, Emerald Green or Deepwater Blue.

In case you missed the previous spoiler:

Every June California Found box includes these hand-formed porcelain “stones” inscribed with words of inspiration, presented on a hand-thrown stoneware dish. (MSRP: $32.00) All are made by the talented hands of Betsey Carter, a California potter who works in high fire porcelain and stoneware. We love the way the clean lines and simplicity of her pieces bring a uniquely modern feel to a traditional art form. We think they’re perfect for the office, the bath, or the nightstand as a gentle reminder of the things in life that really matter.

I hope I get sky blue. Will match all my Turkish-T towels.

Wow, they rarely give spoilers and to have a second one is nice.

I must be one of the few who cannot stand microfiber towels. Give me a plain old cotton towel any day 😂

Good because microfiber towels are terrible for the environment. I’m shocked a California box and California company would put in a microfiber towel. They leave plastic fibers into our water systems, which are not filtered out at treatment plants. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2016/jun/20/microfibers-plastic-pollution-oceans-patagonia-synthetic-clothes-microbeads

Thank you for the feedback – every day with you guys is a day for new learning opportunities. Here are a few tips from the folks at Patagonia to help minimize the impact of microfiber products as experts continue to study the specifics around this issue (applies to both their gear and the towel from our friends at Laguna Beach Textile Company). https://www.patagonia.com/blog/2017/02/an-update-on-microfiber-pollution/

“These simple steps will help reduce the environmental impact of your gear throughout its lifetime.

Keep Using It: Keeping our gear in use longer is something we can all do to reduce our personal impact on the planet. Buy only what you need, buy high quality and make it last. In Patagonia’s recent study with researchers at the University of California, Santa Barbara, a low-quality, generic-brand fleece shed significantly more over its lifespan than Patagonia’s high-quality products (brenmicroplastics.weebly.com).
Wash Less Often & Invest in a Front-load Washer: Microfibers shed in the wash—so wash your gear only when it’s absolutely necessary (you’ll conserve water in the process). Even your most-used outerwear should only need a full wash occasionally. If it’s caked with dirt (and we hope it will be), consider using a rag or sponge to spot clean rather than putting it through a machine cycle. And consider your washing machine: Studies show synthetic jackets laundered in top-load washing machines shed approximately seven times as many microfibers as the same jacket in front-load washers.
Fiber Filters Help: Putting your synthetic clothing into a filter bag before washing by hand or machine can significantly reduce the flow of microfibers into your drain. Starting in the coming weeks, you can buy the easy-to-use Guppy Friend at patagonia.com throughout the United States and Europe. Or install a permanent washing machine filter (requires some plumbing expertise), like Wexco’s Filtrol 160 (septicsafe.com/washing-machine-filter).”

Hope this helps and thanks again for the feedback.

I love turkish towels but I dont care for microfiber either. It gets caught on my dry cuticles and makes me feel icky, lol. Is that just me??

Haha, this will be my fourth towel this summer – Box of Style, FabFitFun, Margot Elena and now California Found. I’m now set on beach towels for the next few years! I do like microfiber as much as Turkish and they are good on your hair.
