I am very glad I resisted the LE box, not glad I subscribed for the June box. No refund yet. I had cancelled literally the day they sent emails about no June box.

I would just like to state that a lot of these comments are ridiculous. I have been a loyal subscriber since the first box and I have NEVER been disappointed with anything in my boxes. All these “fake item” allegations are completely ridiculous. Do you actually KNOW what fake products look, feel, and smell like?! My guess is no since they are NOT the same at all. If you REALLY are that bothered by sweat bumps then I HIGHLY recommend you do not EVER store your makeup in any humid high temp environment and ALSO let me address the preposterous and completely FALSE “wet palette” allegation. NOBODY ever EVER was told anything about the palettes having gotten “wet” whoever has said that made it completely up. The postal carrier left the boxes of products in their HOT A$$ delivery truck for HOURS so THAT is where the sweat bumps came from. Google it. My palette came with these absolutely minuscule bumps and guess what? I DONT CARE. All it took was a finger swatch or a brush stroke over each shade and VOILA all of them were gone as it only affected the top layer which you would use first anyways. The Too Faced lippie looks, smells, feels and even has the exact same packaging to a TEE as my shade Hopeless Romantic which i owned prior to ever having received my Tribe LE box. It even feels the exact same being on my lips sooooo yeah. My mascara came perfectly wet and I absolutely love it, it doesn’t give me the results my BTS mascara does but I still like it. I could go ON AND ON but I’m tired so I’ll leave this right here. I have every single item from every single box I’ve received. Tribe is amazing, the owner is amazing and doesn’t deserve all this garbage about her and her box. The groups she created and runs with her team are nothing short of wonderful and the admins are all very helpful and nice. Customer service response a little slow? WELL YEAH, they are being BOMBARDED with COUNTLESS emails DAILY and since the box is small the customer service team is small too which is one of the biggest things that will be fixed once the box resumes in August, and I, for one, cannot wait to see what Tribe has in store for us.

This is no longer a spoiler for june! The next box will be august this post should be taken down to avoid the confusion

I am honestly relieved that they have decided to skip the June box. I have seen too many red flags in the comments since I signed up a few weeks ago and became turned off before I even received my first box. I will be cancelling as soon as I receive my refund. Hopefully they can get their act together before August but I am out regardless.

Justmissjaimey the upc you left comes back to Tarte and you can search on UPC Index website for UPC to check barcode.

Reply ButtonReply

Justmissjamey

Okay…found it 🙂 you have to put tarte in before the numbers and it came up. Still don’t help all the large and small bubbles in it 🙁 I can’t gift it like I planned, but least THAT isn’t fake

Justmissjamey

I just went and looked up 46733 01819 on the site you suggested and it’s not coming up for me

Reply ButtonReply

Justmissjamey

P.s. they said they will be back for their next box month after next

Reply ButtonReply

Justmissjamey

They are canceling this box and giving everyone refunds over the weekend.

Jen

Emailed three times tryin to cancel and no reply!! Anyone have ideas on how to cancel?

Reply ButtonReply

Jill

You go to the website, go to your account, find subscriptions, under manage subscriptions you can cancel. On they’re FAQ they say you can’t cancel after the 9th of the month but whatever

Reply ButtonReply

Jill

I just think it’s very INTERESTING that people are talking about their boxes possibly containing fake products and then their June Tarte spoilers disappear off of their social media sites with zero explanation.. makes ya wonder..

I’m wondering abt that myself.

Tribe plays the “poor us” card too much for me. In the previous statement, they were the victims of bad shipping and they lost thousands of dollars. Now, they would never “willingly” put fake products in the boxes or “willingly” put anyone’s health at risk. If these fraud claims are true, they’ll come up with something a long the lines of “poor us, we’ve worked so hard and got cheated.”

Subscribers shouldn’t have to be burdened with their losses or growing pains.

Has anyone noticed that they deleted the tarte spoilers on their Instagram???

Trisha

And this means what?

Reply ButtonReply

Anne

Yes, and Facebook.

The Tarte palette has both a barcode on the box and a batch number on the case itself. Mine arrived in perfect condition with no blemishes or bubbles.

I have a ton of Rain Forest of The Sea items from Tarte and although I can’t remember when I bought what, I know for sure Tarte sells product on their website from collections that push the 2 year mark (clearance items). I’m not worried that this is a fake- in my opinion it’s not.

The Bobby Brown mascara is not a fresh- it’s not dried up but it’s not a great product by any stretch. I’ve tried her mascara before and never liked it.

I love the MAC pigment & I got the clear Latex which is what I wanted.

Not sure I’d buy another LE box, but I’ll use everything so for me it worked out ok.

Reply ButtonReply

Justmissjamey

Mine don’t match ANY of the known bar codes for this pallette or for any bar codes. I’m thinking it means it’s fake

Reply ButtonReply

Marie

Where are you guys checking the bar codes?

ks

Email the barcode to Tarte to make sure it’s real/safe to use.

Reply ButtonReply

Iggy'sRock

I will never subscribe, and hit of ‘fake;’ and I’m out.

Reply ButtonReply

Jamie

Anyone that got the Tarte palette in the LE tribe box might want to contact Tarte. Someone already did that and Tarte warned them not to use it and to please return it to Tarte so they could look into it. Just fyi. I would hate to see anyone get sick or anything.

Reply ButtonReply

Bonnie

I scanned my barcode with my phone and it came up the exactly right product, sold on Tarte’s website for $42. Looks legit to me. And the bumps are so tiny that I have no problem using it and I would have had no problem giving it to someone. I have used it several times and all is fine.

The Tribe CEO posted an official statement about this concern on the Tribe Beauty Box Lovers Facebook page yesterday, but it’s buried in a comment to someone else’s post about it. Here is what she wrote so you don’t have to dig around Facebook for it:

“Hi there,

Thanks for your post.

From the beginning I’ve always told everyone who inquired, as well as in my Facebook lives about the source of the products. This is never something I have not freely spoken about because transparency and honesty have always been the pillars of this company.
As any business, you have to be really big with huge numbers for the biggest brands to start giving you products. However, these brands never sell out of their manufacturing and often give overstock to suppliers and wholesalers.
These people are easier to purchase from, even if they are purchased by Tribe at a much higher price than the brand would have. These same wholesalers sometimes sell to people who sell products on eBay for example. The strategy behind it is to keep giving you the items I envision I would have given you in a year but from the start, and grow so big to get items directly. The majority of the box, because Tribe has grown so big comes directly from brands with the exception of 1 or MAYBE 2.

I just want to ensure you and everyone that there is no way I would willingly put a fake product in the box. It took me months to get these connections and I would never ever willingly put anyone’s health at risk. I know what is in counterfeit products and for someone who loves make up so much, I would never willingly do that.

I come on here live, I use my real name on here and talk to you guys. I’ve called some of you personally, you have my phone number, I would never do all that if I was sending you products that are counterfeit, knowing the repercussions very very well.
As a small business, a lot of doubts come up and I try my best to address every single one of them but I can ensure you that this is one I will stay on top of. There’s a difference between having a doubt and being defamatory and as someone who stands strong behind her brand, I will do everything to pursue these things that can ruin a business.

This is the official statement regarding this issue, and I’ll be turning off comments as the issue has been addressed. Please email [email protected] for any questions regarding this and [email protected] about anything else.

Thank you 🙂”

Turning off the comments doesn’t seem right. Do just take her word for it? Did she contact tarte to verify palette is legit? Did she not question why the too faced lippies was not in a box or have stickers on the bottom? The sticker on the bottom is what can tell you the batch number. And the dried out mascara? Did she test these? I’m okay with adding saline drops to my own dried mascara, but not a supposed brand new one that is shipped to me. They don’t like the criticism and shut it down fast, but aren’t actually addressing the issues. Don’t just say contact customer service, prove these are authentic quality products.

Jamie

She says so and turns off comments and that’s the end of it? She’s buying from 2nd or 3rd hand dealers and without chemical testing there’s no way to know if these products are real or fake. Then there’s the issue of the product being damaged before shipment. It feels wrong to me. The turning off the comments, shutting ppl up, keeping questions & concerns quiet and private doesn’t feel right. Especially when the original manufacturers are saying the products seem problematic.

Yikes

Really?!?! Is there a link to this info?!

Reply ButtonReply

Kay

There are a couple of Unboxing videos that prove this. Just search on YouTube. They admitted in comments on one of the channels that they knew some were damaged/wet before sending out, and sent them out anyways, then changed to they had no idea, but will refund or give you a discount on next box. The Too Faced is not authentic, you can call too faced and find that out. It HAS to have the batch number on the bottom. The owner will make sure no negative comments are out about the boxes because she doesnt want to hurt the brand…

Jamie

I trust the woman I got the info from. I’m not publishing her name bc she’s already getting hate messages from tribe box fans which she doesn’t deserve. She’s doing her best to help ppl and I’m doing the same. Do with the info as you will. I’m not saying trash the palette, unsubscribe from tribe or anything like that. I’m just saying to be cautious and call Tarte directly if you have any concerns abt the palette you got.

Iggy'sRock

Why? What is going on?

Reply ButtonReply

Jamie

Someone called Tarte bc they couldn’t find that palette lists for sale anywhere or get any info on it and Tarte asked that they mail it back to the company. I suggest calling Tarte with your palette and box that it came in for more info. I don’t have more details. Also the too faced lippies from the same box may be missing the batch codes from the bottom of the tubes.

Paula

There’s been soooo much Tarte highlighter and shadow in subscription boxes lately, it becoming comical. I guess Tarte had a bulk sale…

Reply ButtonReply

Marie

I’m still waiting on my 10% refund they promised for the LE box and a remedy for the dried up mascara.

Reply ButtonReply

Vita

Is mascara dried up????

Reply ButtonReply

Bonnie

I scanned my barcode with my phone and it came up the exactly right product, sold on Tarte’s website for $42. Looks legit to me. And the bumps are so tiny that I have no problem using it and I would have had no problem giving it to someone. I have used it several times and all is fine.

My Bobbie Brown mascara was not dried up, but I found the tube itself hard to open and close so I tossed it. (Difficult packaging will almost always get purged from my collection). The mascara itself was okay, but nothing spectacular, and all of us subscribers probably have mascara overload.

Mara

My mascara came perfect.

Jamie

In the unboxings I’ve seen the mascara has either been all dried up or completely missing.

Dana

That is a bummer. I saw that several people had issues with the dry mascara, but I thought they were applying a blanket 10% discount to the June box for all members as an apology for the palette bump issue in the LE box? I may have read the Facebook updates too quickly and not understood correctly

Reply ButtonReply

Marie

Yeah, that’s what they said. And for those who aren’t subscribers, they were supposed to issue a 10% refund.

Em

One was in a PSMH box a few months ago, the other is in the current FFF box. Overexposed and obviously not something I need two of

Reply ButtonReply

Dana

These are nice inclusions, although it’s too bad they coincidentally ended up being so similar to the Tarte items included in the upcoming Fab Fit Fun box.

I already have the big pro glow palette (that is one of the upcoming FFF variants) and use it every time I apply makeup unless I’m traveling. Then I take Hamptons Weekender, which is very similar to pro glow to go.

Reply ButtonReply

TL

This is a nice item. Pointing out its similarities to another box is to what point? I’m sure boxes don’t compare who is going to do what. I’ve received exact items in three boxes. Two in one month. It happens. Positive/constructive comments help consumers much more.

Reply ButtonReply

Emilia

If boxes don’t know what competitors are doing, boxes will not survive for long. I, for one, prefer criticism to constant rainbows and lollipops if items call for that.

Dana

Relax — I literally stated up front that they were nice items. I was only lamenting that the coincidence is unfortunate for Tribe because some users will skip the June box if they’re already getting this stuff from FFF. Tribe is a newer sub box, and I’d like to see them be successful. Of course they cannot plan out what they are providing based on what other boxes are doing at exactly the same time. June is a great month to be a Tribe subscriber so far if these items aren’t already in your arsenal.

I’m not really sure where your snarkiness came from but I don’t think it’s properly directed at me since I think Tribe is right on track with good items for June.
