I think maybe something actually went wrong with their system this month. Usually they personalize for me pretty well but this month the products they are sending don’t match my profile at all. Also, they originally showed me getting entirely different samples that did match my profile and that I really wanted (when I looked at “all samples” about a week ago). Then suddenly it changed to five products that don’t match my profile and are all rated fairly low on the app. It’s really weird. I’ve been having good experiences with them so far.

Yes I to had finally given up on Birchbox, I like sampling products but there products to sample are so tiny you hardly get enough to sample, for instance shampoos are maybe one to two uses, face cleansers, face serums, moisturizers never enough to use multiple times!!! I may have gotten a makeup product once or twice and than it was a lip balm, a black eye liner, typical of subscriptions. I’ve watched YouTuber’s unbox Birchbox and they usually got decent products to sample probably bcuz they had a YouTube channel otherwise you hardly ever get makeup!! If you get shampoo you’d get a foil pack conditioner, I have very long hair so I hardly ever received enough to wash once. I just got tired of giving them $10 a month, although I LOVED the boxes they came in they just aren’t worth $10 bucks a month.

I don’t know how they keep so many subscribers. Birchbox introduced me to the world of subscription boxes but their product sample sizes always left me feeling jaded and when I look at how many good sample choices are listed I always feel like it is a bait and switch, because I never got what I would have loved.

I agree. I’ve been a subscriber for years and am not renewing. I seem to get the worse stuff — like a white eyeliner, a self-tanner, which I never use; a fragrance sample; and sample vial of Kiehl’s midnight recovery concentrate. The choice this month was underwhelming too. Birchbox used to lead the pack; now they’re way behind the competition. Hope they change it up.

Me either. Same with ipsy. I cancelled Ipsy. I think Birchbox is just a smidge better

I opted out of receiving face wash this month and got a cleanser and scrub. They don’t classify an oil face cleanser as face wash. After seeing all of the samples offered this month I feel like they really dropped the ball with my box. Basically two face washes in the same box when I didn’t want any at all.

I have 8 items coming and that’s more than usual. So my assumption is that I am going to have some foil packets, which I don’t care for especially bath items. I am still happy I received 8 though.

So many good things they could have sent me but I get shiny stuff and hair stuff…shiny stuff is not good for me..hair stuff I don’t really use. Sunday Riley is good but I got a full size from Allure in January so totally not needed. I don’t understand why they assume summer means we want glittery stuff to shine all over…going to hold on for another month though and hope for the best.

Agreed! I cancelled as well. Not impressed at all with this bag. For the same amount I feel like the Ipsy bag is substantially better.

I tried this susbription for 3 months and it seems like there’s so many fun things they sample, but all I’ve gotten was face cleansers or hair products. Never any of the makeup at all. Cancelled!😩

This is the month I finally cancel. After setting my profile, reviewing accordingly and even talking to them about how I do not want hair products, in a month where I got three of them, I have to quit. Enough is enough.

I empathize with you. I rec’d two hair styling products this month even after contacting them to tell them I never use these types of products. I know we can’t opt of categories like Hair altogether so I asked them to tweak my profile so that I would receive shampoo & conditioner instead. I agree; enough is enough. I did an annual sub with them but will be cancelling once it’s done.

I did the same thing about shampoo and still ended up with a hair oil, leave-in conditioner and dry shampoo. 🙅‍♀️
