I know that I’m late to the party on this thread, but I just had my final straw moment with this particular sub, so I wanted to add a comment. Like others, I had real trepidations over paying for the new quarterly system almost 5 months in an advance, but I chose to do it because I really liked the SB boxes. I wasn’t thrilled with the delay, but it wasn’t that big of a deal, so I just let it slide. Then I opened my box and found some nice bracelets, a potholder, a candle, melamine dessert plates, some kind of shatterproof polymer glasses, reusable produce bags (very cool), and a nice big tote bag. This isn’t a complaint (even though there’s absolutely nothing wrong with airing a complaint in these comments – Use that 1st Amendment while we still have it). I firmly believe that it was a good haul for the grandfathered price, but it definitely was not the equivalent of almost $235 worth of products. But listen, I understand retail markup. I’m not complaining about the items. My displeasure, as it were, is with attitude. You fellow sub-bers know that good customer service goes a long way in mitigating less than stellar box content. We’ll accept a lot if it’s offered with a smile or an understanding handwritten note. That’s just basic human nature. And I don’t know about you, but the subs are my private present to myself. I justify the expense as being akin to therapy, and if I can support local artisans or female-led endeavors, even better. But it’s time for me to part ways with Sugarbash and find some new subs to support. Unfortunately we can’t have only positive vibes – that isn’t how life works, but hey, variety is good, and we can all enjoy that.

Wondering why this was never reviewed and there has been no mention of this box or any upcoming boxes for over a month now?

Cristina

Aren’t these quarterly now?

Reply ButtonReply

Cas

Yes. But this was technically the March box and I never saw it reviewed. The next box is June but nothing yet about spoilers or anything! Seems very odd to me.

Beccah

Got my box. I could only pick what color bracelet i wanted so I picked the one with yellow but they didn’t give me that one! They sent the blue, turquoise one instead! Not happy at all!!!

Helen

Hey Beccah,
I have the yellow bracelets and would love the blue ones you got. Would you like to swap?? The company was super unhelpful. Thanks!!

Reply ButtonReply

Helen

Seriously?!! You wanted yellow?? I got yellow and wanted either of the blue sets! I just emailed them and am about to email again! What is the point of saying you are going to customize and then clearly not! And if you got the colors i wanted and vice versa then they evidently didn’t bother with customizing at all! Also, very unhappy!!

Me too! Yay! 🙂

FYI, this box apparently has Godiva chocolates in it. That could very well be one of the items they haven’t received yet because who the heck wants chocolate to sit in a warehouse for 5 months.

I got one Sugarbash box and didn’t use anything in it. Just personal preference, nothing wrong with the items.
I wouldn’t use the plastic dessert plates either except to feed my small dogs, which is what I use the same brand’s PSMH plates for.

However, I’m here to comment on the WEATHER thing. I had paid for and received a tracking number for very expensive merchandise ( non- subscription, niche’ brand luxury items).

I paid for 2 day USPS Priority Mail as the 2 day UPS shipping was so much more expensive.
Then, the winter storms hit the company’s HQ, which is also their shipping warehouse location on the East Coast.

It took 9 days for my items to arrive, and I only got them TODAY.
So, there is a huge delay and there has been because there were like 3 storms between late Feb. and now that were extremely fierce.

To me, the important thing is to keep the people in these areas ( which I know includes a lot of my fellow posters too) in my thoughts and prayers for safety and food and electricity and warmth.

Material things like frivolous goods and, well, even subscription boxes ( LOL) come way down the list from the safety of people and pets, IMO.

Not lecturing, but I had to come to terms with my own angst at the amount of money I’d spent that was essentially lost in 2 blizzards this month in the state from whch they were shipped. I’ve had the central air on for over a week now.. The US is certainly diverse with climate conditions. : ).

xox,
Mandy G.

I will give Sugar Bash what is called the benefit of the doubt. If you log on to FedEx, they have been monitoring the weather for the better part of this month due to winter storms in the east coast. I believe that some of their products that go into making these lovely boxes for their customers have been delayed as they stated. I received two notifications from Sugar Bash apologizing or the delay, at least they keep their customers apprised of the situation which is more than I can say for some other sub services.

Yes, I paid for a FULL year sub at the end of November, but that was the choice I made when I decided I wanted to continue to do receive this sub from Sugar Bash. Everyone had a choice, no one was forced to purchase this sub. I believe in this sub and think it’s worth being patient and waiting a short time for the product to be delivered. I have never been disappointed by Sugar Bash!💜💜💜

I thought that October (my 3rd box) was kind of disappointing. I was interested in their new model/ direction which is why I paid for one year upfront 5 months ago. I will repeat that they have had plenty of time to get this together. FedEx always monitors the weather and usually has an advisory at the top of my shipping info page– funny that I have received 5 boxes in the last 2 weeks with no problem while FedEx has had a weather advisory posted. SB doesn’t even yet have their items, let alone have their boxes packed, or a prospective shipping date.

And I am on the east coast where we just had our FOURTH Nor’Easter yesterday and we didn’t miss even one mail delivery.

Not Like They Had Plenty Of Time To Get Their Act Together

The Snow is not that bad it is their excuses we had a lot of Snow 2 days ago and now Completely Melted why are they talking about their summer boxes and cannot even get their spring boxes out on time

Reply ButtonReply

Jodi

I agree with all the others..they had MONTHS to acquire the inventory for this box..you don’t place an order a few days in advance (when the snow storm got there!!)..supposedly the box was sold out months ago…they should have known how many items they needed and planned ahead especially since they knew where their vendor were located as well as where their facilities are located.

I have cancelled a few boxes this past month because I’m over excuses…”vendor delays”, “weather delays”, “custom delays”, “breakage delays”…it makes me feel like the are just repetitive excuses from boxes who can’t handle the amount of subscriptions or are so low on funding they are having ordering delays. Those are huge red flags to me…says time to bail before they go under with my money LOL!

Sugarbash was already on the way out for me when they changed their setup…so hopefully the rest of this box makes me want to stay after paying for it back in November. Maybe I’m just over sub boxes altogether..tired of excuses, “variations”, delays, having to track who I paid and figure out why it’s not been delivered…maybe I’ve lost the love of sub boxes 🙁

Hi Ladies,
We apologize for the delay. We are waiting on the Godiva Chocolates which need to be produced fresh. They ship out of New York, and the snow storm slowed down production. We will ship out as soon as the chocolates come in. Please contact us directly with any questions. Susan

This box is starting to remind me of little lace box with significant shipping delays.

Reply ButtonReply

Deb

I have been with this box for 2 years. I remember just one time when they were late by a week. Otherwise they had never been late. They said boxes were to ship on the 15th that is only a week delay. How is this a significant delay? Give them a break people.

One Time to Many

LB

I try to be understanding but I have to agree with Nancy. The last monthly box was in October? I paid for this box 4 months ago. They’ve been sold out for about 3 months? So they knew how much inventory to plan for. The surveys went out later than they originally said. Then the boxes have been pushed back a week every week this month. Now they don’t even give a potential time. I was excited for the box, but it’s slowly losing its fun. Seems like alot of sub boxes have been late the past few months. In the industry I work in, demanding customers can charge YOU back for every day you shut down their line with your poor inventory managenent…so maybe my expectations are just to high??

Snowhitetwin

You are so right! Very well put…you make some very good points!

Yup, I agree. They have had my money for too long and had plenty of time to get this together. Feeling irritated that I paid upfront for a year-long sub . Buyers remorse. Also,I did not get any communication from them until today. C’mon SB ,get it together.

Reply ButtonReply

Nancy M.

I know that things happen but they literally had MONTHS to get this in place. I signed up back in November. I don’t understand what snowstorms have to do with this since they were supposed to have originally been shipped BEFORE. Just seems like bad planning to me…

Reply ButtonReply

Svetlana7e

I agree. I normally don’t care when box shipped and totally understand the circumstances, but what really upsets me that they took money way in November and now giving these excuses. If they would be like other companies that bill only WHEN box is shipped, it would be different story.

Reply ButtonReply

Beth

True…Sooo Sooo Soooo true. When boxes do that up front 6 months before a box goes out makes me think money issues. Not saying SB, just in some cases.

jj

What companies bill ONLY when the boxes ships? All my subscriptions I paid in advance?

Susan@sugarbash

Hi Ladies,

We apologize for the delay. We are waiting on the Godiva Chocolates which need to be produced fresh. They ship out of New York, and the snow storm slowed down production. We will ship out as soon as the chocolates come in. Please contact us directly with any questions. Susan
