I gifted myself a 3 mo sub and although I know I filled out a profile, my account doesn’t exist. So I was unable to select anything and had no idea my box was shipped until it arrived today. I don’t know what half of this stuff is, def all new to me and not things I’ve gotten in other subs. I definitely liked my first box better.

I got my box today. I also did not get my sample choice (Winky Lux lip gloss). I guess I’ll send them a message. Instead I got:
-Ouai leave-in conditioner
-Juliette Has A Gun Not a Perfume (tried it many times, don’t like it)
-Marcelle Power Serum
-Smashbox Insta-Matte
-ModelCo LuxeCreme lipstick (unfortunately in a color that’s too brown for me)
I’m not excited about any of the samples I got. Plus I really wanted that lip gloss. Should’ve gone with the curated box.

Oh, nevermind. The curated box has the lipstick and Smashbox product as well, so it wouldn’t have been much better.

I am so passed anout my box this month! Not only did I not get my sample choice but I got the blowout spray which I got s few boxes back. I don’t use it! I got a supergoop cc cream. Don’t use it the mattifying lip thing won’t use it and the model co lip trio. Don’t use it. The only thing I will use is the cleansing oil. Seriously my whole box practically is going on the swap list!!!

2 out of 3 is not the average bb wanted to see on this beta “opt-out box” program, i’m betting!

not for me! for the 2nd time this year(!), i chose “points” instead…so, i took my $13 and got the KBeauty kit i really wanted for $7…free shipping, due to “ace” status…
but, the headline here is, “two times within 3 months, i chose NO box”…
…thinkin’ that’s sayin’ somethin’…

i don’t even know for sure if all aces can do it yet, it may totally be a beta program i’ve some freakin’ how lucked into, but, yes!
and, gotta tell ya-it’s a no-brainer…i spend $10, but on the 1st, that $10 magically transforms into $13, and i can always find a kit i want, sometimes for $15…i love the option
one drawback:
if you opt out of your monthly box, naturally, there’s no ”
add-on’s” for you!

Birchbox is my first subscription box ever & from there I joined like 10 others lol but I’ve noticed the last 5 months my boxes have been horrible, with no personalization whatsoever …this month is actually not bad, other than the perfum I’m looking forward to all of these
-Nanette Lenore perfum (3 months in a row now getting perfume samples that I clearly don’t want)
– smashbox insta matte lipstick transformer (a bit intrigued by this one)
– model co luxecreme long wear lipstick (guess I could try the insta matte with this!)
– glamglow supercleanse clearing cleanser (love this too I have 3 of these samples)

I swear, Birchbox could elevate itself several notches in my estimation if it would just stop with those ridiculous mini perfume vials counting as one of the five samples. Want to throw it in as a bonus sixth? Fine. But I’m not even going to try it (migraine trigger), so let’s stop pretending like it has any value to me.
Also, my sample is Tokyo Milk’s “pretty rotten,” and no matter what it smells like, I just think that from a marketing standpoint, no one should ever use the word ROTTEN in a perfume name.

Yes I completely agree… it should NOT count as a sample… I suffer from migraines too and I don’t use them, 4 months in a row I’ve gotta a perfum sample (I even emailed them last month about it) and i keep saying oh next month will be better… I really think I’m gonna try and swap for points next month… I really miss the Beta subscription they had, there were sooo many options with samples and you could choose from like 8 different curated boxes.. no idea why they stopped it, even though I know they were just testing it

I thought the name was supposed to refer to the person wearing the perfume, like a spoiled rotten rich girl. Unfortunately, no, it’s the scent. It is like a rotten granny smith apple.

My box items are the exact same as Liz’s. My sample choice was the Khiels but it wasnt in my box, i emailed them and theyre sending it separately, which is cool but i think im about done with birchbox also. Just disappointed more than excited lately.

The same thing happened to me too. I chose the Kiehl’s, but my box looks just like Liz’s. I’m just gonna let it go though since I’ve never tried the Winky Lux lip gloss (the sample pick I didn’t choose), plus they all look like wearable colors. I’ve already tried the moisturizer before (great product!), and probably already have a couple of samples I need to use up stashed away anyway. I guess fate didn’t want me to add to my hoard. Haha

I usually don’t care for Smashbox, but I’ve never heard of their lipstick transformer. I would have been happy with any of the other things but I got three things not even listed and both of the sample choices. I didn’t pick the blowout cream over the lip glaze, because I obviously didn’t want it, but I got it anyway!
I’m bitter. I’m sorry. I sound like a brat.

R+Co Television Perfect Hair Shampoo and Conditioner-probably foil packets so not too excited. I like being able to use a hair product a few times
Erno Laszlo White Marble Double Cleanse-sold as travel size so I imagine the sample will be very tiny and I don’t really like getting cleansers
PEEK Beauty Nom Nom Natural Plumping Lip Balm-I love lip balm and all three shades are pretty so I’ll likely be happy with whatever shade I receive

I chose to be surprised and I think it’s a typo seriously on what I’m getting bc according to the website I’m getting 8 things?!? One of those 8 things is a shampoo and conditioner so I guess maybe consider it 7 if u put them together. But still crazy how much I’d supposedly receive. I hope I’m not wrong bc it’s a ton of really great stuff 😍

I chose the curated box this month because four out of the five items were usable for me. I never get the curated boxes, but Birchbox is terrible at sending me stuff I like and will use. I am curious to see what everyone else got though! Is there any way to know what the mystery items could be each month, like we can with Ipsy? I’m close to cancelling Birchbox, as it seems i’m Always disappointed. It really seems to be the worst of the sub boxes, at least for my taste.

My box is pretty good, really. Im most excited to try the Winky Lux gloss. That’s the one item I chose. 😃

Wow. I got the worst possible combination of products. Seriously. If you saw all of the options for the month and picked the five most boring, lower quality items in the bunch, you’d have my box. But I have this month for free so I’m just gonna hand it all out and be done with it.

It wouldn’t bother me if Glossy hadn’t also been such a big turd for me this month. I know a lot of people like this Glossy – so don’t beat me up! All but one item was a repeat for me. A repeat I didn’t much care for the first time around. I was waiting for Birchbox to redeem the month for me, especially after seeing the boxes I didn’t jump on that turned out amazing… Super glad I didn’t bother with Boxy, but I’d even take it over this month’s Glossy and Birchbox.
