I started with Birchbox and Ipsy then added Sephora Play, Allure, and Look Fantastic. I like each for different reasons and some better than others. Birchbox never disappoints me. I have enjoyed and used every single item in my boxes. Sizes can be small (and at times tiny).

I love the option to choice a sample or the curated box. Definitely not makeup heavy but that is way I have other subs for that.

Can this be used on Birchbox Man? And can this be used on gift subscriptions?

I started with Ipsy and Birchbox then added Sephora Play, Allure, and Look Fantastic. I have the yearly sub to Birchbox. The sample sizes can be on the small / tiny size but I have enjoyed each and every product that has been in my Birchbox sub. I cannot say that about a few of the others that I sub to…

Birchbox is not make-up heavy but I have Ipsy for that 🙂 Check out some of the past boxes products and reviews. Birchbox also has a nice website and app. I enjoy being able to pick a sample product from the sample choice list or elect the curated box. So far, I have only picked a sample and Birchbox has been amazing at selecting my other products that seem quite customized to my profile and preferences.

I feel so let down every month with Birchbox, but “I just can’t quit you!!!”

I don’t see anywhere that it says, ‘Change My Subscription,’ can anyone tell me how to get to that page?

Very tempting! What does everyone think? I currently have ipsy.

I like Ipsy better. In my experience, I get more usable sample sizes from Ipsy. With Birchbox, I got some very tiny samples. BUT I do think Birchbox had higher priced brands than Ipsy when I got it. So, if you want to test out high value brands, it might be worth it to you.

Also, it’s silly, but I like the makeup bags better than the boxes.

Agreed! And if you are a current annual subscriber, they will not honor this promo. Just asked them and they confirmed.

I used to have both, and have since switched them to Allure and Ricky’s NYC. In my opinion, ipsy is the better of the two, in terms of product type variety. Birchbox lets you pick one of the five samples (or the curated box), but I think you still find more overall happiness with ipsy. In Birchbox, you’ll typically receive only one makeup sample and at least one hair product sample each month.

Birchbox is very heavy on hair items – if that’s something you like, great! I hardly use any hair products, and I don’t consider a shampoo sample to be a valid one of the five items, no matter what outrageous price tag the manufacturer puts on the brand, or what outrageous claims they make about what it adds to your hair (you wash it out, duh).

I reconsidered for a moment here, but I’ll pass on that annual sub.

I agree with dea. It usually goes 20% off gift subscriptions on black Friday, so $82 ish. They also send out foils frequently and the founder rubbed a lot of subscribers the wrong way in the past. Allure &Ipsy > Birchbox
