Happy Mail 11″ x 8.5″ Calendar by Hello!Lucky – Retail Value $24.99

Don’t confuse this calendar with the stationery subscription by A Beautiful Mess, but do enjoy this colorful calendar’s quirky designs and illustrations! The idea of this calendar is that each month’s spread contains prompts to inspire you to create some good ol’ fashioned snail mail. Write to far-flung friends, pass a note to a coworker, jot out some fan mail… there are oodles of ideas in here!

Mono Twin Permanent Marker – Retail Value $3.39

I love this smooth-writing black marker! Both ends are felt-tip, but one is slightly thicker than the other. It’s a great pick for writing notes, thanks to the neat, clean lines it makes. I could see using the wide end for short notes inside of greeting cards, and the finer end for long letters where space is at a premium!

Reporter 4 Compact Pen – Retail Value $4.46 (Found here for $2.82)

I remember owning a pen like this in elementary school! I thought it was so cool how I could swap between 4 different colors, depending on the types of notes I’m taking (or my mood). Switch the pen color between blue, red, green, and black ink with just a flick of the switches on this chubby pen.

Retry Adhesive – Estimated Value $7.49

I couldn’t find this item on the Tombow site, so I linked to a similar adhesive item above. This little tool makes a neat and tidy line of adhesive glue that makes it easy to seal envelopes or add bits of flair to stationery crafts in a precise way. The magenta color is cute, too!

Mono 2 Way Correction Tape – Estimated Value $4.22

Tombow is the master of two-sided products! This little multitasker has a pen-like correction tape end and an eraser end, too. No matter what you need to correct, you’re set! The color is fun and bright, too. If I was still in college, I would be over the moon about this little item. It’d make it so easy to edit or correct printed papers. (I’m the type that likes to mark up drafts by hand, rather than just via the computer.)

small stickers

Bonus: Tombow Stickers – Estimated Value $1.00

These little stickers are only about 1 inch big each (if that), but I love the simplicity of the designs. I’m not sure if there’s a specific purpose these are intended for, but I could see using them to decorate notebooks, pencil cases, etc.

The Verdict: This box was a lot more stationery focused than my first box, which was artsier. I feel like everything in this package would (and will) live happily at my office desk. And I was so impressed by the number of dual-purpose goodies! A two-sided pen, a double-ended correction tool, a calendar that doubles as writing inspiration… so cool! The box is $30.00, which seems like a lot for 5 items, but knowing how pricey nicer stationery items can be, it didn’t feel like a splurge.

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? No. Sign up now to get the next upcoming box!

Value Breakdown: This box cost $30.00 plus free USPS ground shipping, but I estimate that I received $44.55 in value (not counting the bonus stickers). That means that, proportionally, I paid the following for each item:

  • Calendar – $16.83
  • 2-ended pen – $2.28
  • 4-color pen – $3.00
  • Adhesive tape – $5.04
  • Correction tape – $2.84

  1. This subscription is active? I did not see the February box , and I subscribed in the middle of February. Supposedly my first box is going to be the March but there are no spoilers no info…

  2. I received my February box today and was super excited to open it! The items that I received were great, but I was missing 3 of the 6 items in my box. I emailed customer service so hopefully they will respond and ship me my missing items. As a stationary nut I was super excited to sub to this box. Hopefully their customer service won’t make me rethink my decision!
