I’ve gotten the cookbook, 7-8 girl, 7-8 boy, read to me, and thrill seeker. I use all of them as gifts. All the books are great for that and my kids pick over the books for the ones they want as keepers. This is totally different from BOTM. If you are looking for new release than BOTM is the one. If you are looking for an assortment of books (hardcover) that are new but not a new release than this is a good sub.

I got a year-long subscription of Thrill Seeker a while back and have regretted it. I’ve gotten SO many books that were third or fourth in a series. It’s been so disappointing.

Thank you all for the comments. I too love BOMC and am looking for another similar but I guess this isn’t it.

I hope ordered two subscriptions. One for my son with the early chapter books and one of picture books for my daughter. As this rate I went for the full year. What a great deal!

Has anyone subbed to this other than the kids books? Not sure if I want to replace BOTM. With the discount, a 6-month sub would be $9.50 a month, including shipping, for 2 books.

Amber, if you read a lot you will not be happy with this. I would never get this again and would not replace BOTM with it. Its mostly the books that are on the $5.97 table at Books A Million, Barnes and Noble, and Walmart.

I agree with Rachel. BOTM is far superior (almost all the BOTM book are new releases, you can choose you books, skip a month, etc.). These are essentially all books off the bargain table at Barnes & Noble.

Bookcase Club is ok and certainly has its place (I know someone who subscribes and fills her vacation rental house with the books) but I would stick with BOTM over this one.

Amber

Thanks for the feedback! I’ll stick with BOTM. I like being able to pick out my books anyway 🙂

If you read a lot or care about reading series in order this isn’t a good fit for you. I did this a year ago and bought a year membership. I received two books in the entire year that I hadn’t read already or that weren’t middle of a series books. Just an FYI if anyone is thinking of doing it.

Thanks so much for the info! I was tempted, but I’ll stay strong. 🙂
