I just got my first bag in the mail today. This is the first beauty sub I’ve tried. I know it costs a bit more than other boxes, but I was drawn to the fact that all the products are full size. I ordered the service on the first and I got my box in less than a week so it was really fast. I love that it comes with a cute bag. I’m more excited about make up than brushes but the quality of the brush is high so I don’t mind adding it to my collection. I was worried about the lip color at first. I already have a few red lipsticks and don’t wear them often. I was scared it would be to bright. I’m blonde with fair skin and I like the lipstick. It goes on very smoothly and neatly with a matte finish. I like it more than I expected. The higher is gorgeous but I don’t have much experience with them. The only thing I don’t like is the black brow powder. I can barely pull off light brown brows let alone black. I’m going to try using it wet to see if I can make it work as an eyeliner. So far I’m not disappointed. Gonna give it another couple of months and see how it goes.

For the highlighter, you can add a little bit to your moisturizer. It’s supposed to give you a dewy glow when you do that. I’m not sure at my age; I can pull it off. Definitely going to try a smokey eye with that ridiculous brow powder.

Normally this subscription isn’t that bad, and I like the products, although recently they have been adding brands other than so susan, trifle, etc. This month, including a bellapierre black brow powder…..????? Really not sure what they were thinking there, considering I’m sure there are a lot of subscribers who don’t have black hair. Also, the lip colors they include sometimes are just WAY too bright…not colors I believe most people would wear on a normal day/night out. I will say, the brushes by so susan are amazing…some of the best quality brushes I think I have seen yet…considering the brushes I am used to sampling are from the ipsy bags… Anyway, just wanted to share my input about this month’s bag…I really hope they stop including other brands which really aren’t that great to begin with, and hopefully take things into consideration such as exactly how much of their customer base will actually be able to use the products they include.

I personally LOVE this sub. I bought a 6-mo subscription using the coupon for one free bag – so that’s 7 bags for $105 = $15 a bag. The value of EACH bag is like $80 – $110 each month! Yes I think the RV is high on some things, but still – their customer service has been AWESOME to work with, they didn’t hold out on their promotion (i.e. Allure not sending out Tarte Blushes), they sent me my bonus bag right away. Everything isn’t always a win, but those things I just list on the swap site and SOMEONE always snatches them up quickly, and I get something I do want in return. Plus they’re ON TOP OF IT! Today is the first of the month and I got an email w/ my tracking # for my November bag before I even woke up this morning! As a subscriber to lots of beauty subs, this one is one of the tops on the list 😊💖

Well that’s nice to here, in case I’m stuck with this month.

I love their products and they’re usually made in Italy (anywhere but China is important to me). It’s totally with the cost.

I’m getting toward the end of this sub. Getting repeats and I am a blonde who can’t do black anything (although my daughter is very dark haired) I need a break from this for a bit.

Red lip crayon? black brows? Definitely 2nd guessing my new membership! I’d skip if I could. I bought a 3 month sub, as I’ve been waiting for months to join. :/

Yeah, I have really dark hair and can usually pull off a red lip (even so, this particular red looks iffy, like it might verge on clown-lips territory for me), and I can’t pull off black brows. This is only my second month of this sub, and I’m kinda worried now about how generally applicable this sub’s going to be. In my opinion, this speaks to some pretty poor judgment on their part.

you can skip. i did. the last two months. Now thinking about cancelling altogether.

I’m not seeing the option to skip in my account. Is it too late already? It looks like they already created a label for my package. : /

I’m excited for this, it’ll be my first bag!
My only concern is…a black brow powder? That won’t be of use for many people 🙁

Eve

Yeah, I agree. I don’t know how they possibly thought that was a good idea for a subscription box. I have extremely dark brown hair, and even I couldn’t pull off a black brow powder. I’m concerned I won’t even be able to swap that one. Really disappointed. : (

I agree. I have a bright, medium tone, red hair. I definitely can’t wear that lip color. Is the brow supposed to be for Halloween and they just forgot to include it last box 😉

Perhaps, you can use it for eyeshadow? Or if you have dark hair and your roots are showing, maybe you can use it as a temporary solution to darken your roots? But I know what you mean. I am a POC and I hate it when I am get tanning lotions or bronzer. I literally use some brands of bronzer as face powder 😀

Eve

God, that sucks. It’s good you can use some of them as face powder, at least. I really wish sub boxes would try a little harder to either personalize the boxes according to people’s surveys or just leave out such divisive products.
